We got to see four fraud themed movies that day. Some theater rooms were small and these rooms probably can accommodate 50 people. But, room #1 was huge and this room also had booth section seating. The basement area had the coat check and restrooms. I think this movie theater has other events throughout the year besides being a regular movie theater for most of part. The location for the Pathé is great and it's accessible by metro and tram.

The feeling inside is fun, with the multi level bars and theaters. I have always got great service when visiting and never had a complaint. You can actually get your beer in a glass here too which is a nice change. Usually they have a break in the film too so you can fill up or use the toilet. Since I have nothing to complain about and this is a nice new cinema I have to give it five stars. This area is also getting nicer with the Woodstone Pizza next door and a few other bars popping up close by. If you're ready for a night out, that should be a good combo. I have even heard they have events there and Wednesday seems to be ladies night, whatever that may entail.

You can end up standing in line quite some time, especially just before a film starts;)

My only dissatisfaction in the experience was the food. My wife at the gnocchi and I had the rump steak. Both were below expectation. This is a shame because I feel this concept could strike gold especially as the hipster scene is becoming more prominent in Amsterdam. Nevertheless, the movie theater itself was a very cool experience. The theater has an antique feel transporting you back in time. Overall a positive experience. If they could improve the quality of food and have a more seamless transition from restaurant to movies I think this could really take off.

The theatre is new and looks great (clean, updated equipment). The staff is extremely friendly and just a pleasure to speak to. I've visited this theatre three times so far and I must say I keep finding more and more I love about it. I usually go to Pathé De Munt because it's closer (and mostly out of habit). But this location is winning me over more and more. One of the things I like about this theatre is that it's smaller than De Munt and feels more intimate. I'm not fighting the big crowds of De Munt. The locations perfect for dinner and drinks either before or after your movie. Being in the heart of Leidseplein you're right in the midst of all the action. This is the street for tourist and therefore it has lots to eat and drink (quality might be questionable though).

But, if you enjoy a more intimate setting which is in the heart of the city's 'entertainment area' and is generally frequented by serious movie-goers, you will absolutely love Pathe City. They recently renovated the downstairs area with some seating and a coffee bar, which is great if you arrive earlier for a movie. Speaking of which, Pathe City shares the building with Little Buddha and a casino next door, meaning you don't even have to leave the building to skip over to those spots. There are a LOT of steps as already mentioned. Seating is nicer than the theater at Muntplein, with cup holders on armrests instead of below the seat in front (I never understood that weird concept anyway). Since it's next to Little Buddha, if you watch a movie on a late weekend night and happen to be at the wrong theater, you might hear some background music. Depending on the movie, it might not be all that bad. One time, they offered to refund ticket money to anyone who was getting bothered by the music. My only gripe with Pathe City is that it seems to only screen the more tasteful movies, which is good if you are trying to get into a show of 'Safe Haven', but not if you fancy the latest in the 'Hangover' series. I guess it's part of their plan to target a certain demographic.

I have been to several of the movie theaters in Amsterdam and I was not too crazy over most of them but this one is just too cool. Studio/K is known for it cinema, a theater hall, bar/restaurant and a terrace which is put to great use in the summer months. I had the pleasure of enjoying their terrace with my man this summer when we were able to luck up on a sunny day. What makes this area so unique? It's going through gentrification. An area to inspire the creative artist meaning (creative class) as Florida Richard would quote it. Gentrification and urban gentrification refer to the changes that result when the rich and middle class people ("gentry") acquire property in low income and working class communities. I wrote my thesis on this subject, so I look forward to following up on the changes in this community. So far it appears gentrification has become a success in this dynamic community.

Because I don't go to our most lovable cinemas that often because of it. Sometimes I like to watch a movie in Rialto even if Pathe is also showing it. Just for the charm of the old beautiful cinema and to support them. They also have a nice café. I like Rialto very much. They show very nice movies. All arty, cultural, film festival movies (never blockbusters). This is a classy place. If you have never been here you should certainly go! Tickets are around 10 euros and you should pick them up 30 minutes before the movie starts.

On friday and saturday evening, there are meals available that complement one of the movies running at the cinema. No reservation for eating possible...so arrive in time for the for food. If you are alone, you won't feel uncomfortable going to this place. It is in a relatively safe neighbourhood and the audience is pretty relaxed.
