Bruce, your response only further highlights the lack of transparency, professionalism, and honesty…read morethat we experienced while dealing with your company. Instead of addressing the serious concerns we raised, you continue to deflect responsibility and twist the narrative to justify your unprofessional and unethical business practices. Let's break this down point by point: 1. Lack of Transparency & Dishonesty: You claim that long-term rentals require a contract renewal for insurance purposes, yet at no point was this properly explained or disclosed to us when we first extended the rental. If this policy is so important, why was it not clearly stated in writing at the start? Instead, you only brought it up when it was convenient for you. Furthermore, your own words confirm that you lied about having an "HQ" to manipulate the situation. If you admit to dishonesty in one aspect, it raises serious questions about the integrity of your entire operation. 2. Red Light Ticket Scam? You told us we had a red light ticket and insisted we pay immediately, which we did. However, you now admit that red light tickets take up to four weeks to be issued, yet you claimed to have received ours in two weeks. Where is the ticket? Why weren't we given a copy? The fact that you demanded payment without proof suggests we were scammed. We will be following up on this issue, and possible legal action may be pursued. 3. Vehicle Condition & Unlawful Seizure: You took the vehicle without warning or consent from our driveway, which meant we had no opportunity to clean it before returning it. We have young children, and cars with children inevitably get messy. We fully intended to clean the vehicle before returning it, but you unlawfully took that option away from us. Your attempt to use the vehicle's condition to justify your actions is dishonest and manipulative. 4. Holding Personal Belongings Hostage: When we arrived to retrieve our personal items, you refused to return them until we handed over the key. This was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. We had to call the police to get our belongings back. No legitimate business should operate this way, and it speaks volumes about your shady and unprofessional conduct. 5. Poor Communication & Harassment: You claim we ignored calls and messages, but the reality is we responded when we could and communicated our situation clearly. Instead of handling the matter professionally, you resorted to excessive calls, texts, and manipulative tactics. Your aggression and unwillingness to engage in reasonable dialogue made this experience far worse than it ever needed to be. 6. A Business Built on Deception: Your final statement that you "would not do anything different" proves that you refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing. A real professional would reflect on the situation and seek to improve their business practices. Instead, you double down on behavior that is dishonest, misleading, and completely unacceptable. Bottom line: Value Car & Truck Rental is a shady and untrustworthy company. Your lack of professionalism, dishonesty, and unethical practices make it clear that customers should take their business elsewhere. We will continue to follow up on the red light ticket issue and any further legal action necessary.
