Just got the reservation set up online. Good price. Spoke with staff to confirm. Was feeling like she was ignoring my concern. Decided there might have been a bad connection. Called back with better connection and T. answered again and it was very clear the connection was the problem. She was polite and helpful and answered all of my questions. I hope to add more good stuff later. read more

reserved car for 9:am, called for to confirm pickup time NO CARS...til 12:00 PM maybe Had to call around morning of read more

Made a reservation online for same day pick up due to my car being in the shop. I used my dad's gold account to make the reservation and specified that I would be the driver (something we have never had an issue with before). When I went to pick the car up at 12:30 (when they assured me they would have the car) I was told we could not get the car due to the reservation not being in my name and that there were no cars on the lot for pick up today. Being that I had to uber to the office, I then asked to wait for a new ride and while I figured out what to do and was told I would not be allowed to do so as it is not a public waiting room. In contrast, the enterprise 2 miles down the road not only got me a car within the hour but sent someone to pick me up from the Hertz office. Needless to say I will only be using Enterprise from now on read more

Hertz decided I had vandalism on a car door. This was 30 minutes after I left. Filed a claim with my insurance company for over $5,000. They supposedly turned in everything that was wrong on the car. Hertz has sent me a bill for around $3,000 for admin fees, arbitrary fees, totally a scam. There were fees sent to the insurance company that was against the law. Sent in charges with no evidence. My lawyer will be handling this case. From the looks of the other opinions, this location needs to be shut down. When I went back to fill out the incident report, it was definitely like all 3 of the employees were in on it, like a gang. They had no idea I'm not intimidated with their thug antics. You have been warned! I'm telling you they are absolutely shocking. I would love to know if they even got the car fixed. They have not heard the last from me. May end up with a class action lawsuit against the Pelham location. Do not use them. Walk!! read more

DECEPTIVE and DISREPUTABLE. When we said we'd like to add a second driver, the agent SHOULD have disclosed the fee. Instead, she took my license info, completed the process, and said, "I'll drive the car around." Then she said, "The paperwork is in the car." We had no reason to believe the price would be different from the quote from the online reservation. WRONG. She charged us $120 for the second driver. I understand that's their right to charge a fee, but it should have been disclosed. Then, upon the return of the car a week later, she saw a little sand in the floorboard and said it would be a $500 charge. She also tried to shame us and said, "If you'd read the terms and conditions, you would see that there is a $500 fee for smoking, pets, and sand." Nope. First, we were not presented with terms and conditions to read prior to rental, and after the fact, I've found that the word sand does not appear anywhere on their website. Tell me what kind of business doesn't have a bathroom for their customers, not a public bathroom but one your paying customers can use. Also, when I booked my reservation I requested a specific vehicle, when I went to pick it up late in the afternoon they didn't have one in. I had to pay for an upgrade. I would not recommend this location ! Hwy. 31 Pelham, Alabama read more

I made a reservation weeks before I arrived. When I went to pick up my car they said that they were picking them up at the airport and would be back in 30 minutes. I returned an hour later and they said that they were on their way back. I called an hour after that and they told me that they didn't have any cars. Thanks a lot Hertz for ruining my vacation. Don't ever rent from hertz. read more

1 star only because that is the lowest rating I can give. The folks working in this location knows nothing about customer commitments and customer service. Enterprise took care of us!!!! read more

We reserved (and paid for) a full size car online. We were facing an 800 mile road trip and wanted to ride in comfort. When we arrived to pick it up, the only vehicle available was a sub compact (Chevy Spark) that just barely accommodated our luggage. Then they weren't able to refund the difference in price because we were "already in the pickup window". Needless to say, they've lost our business. read more

I made reservations three weeks in advance and after weekly reminders of my reservation I received a call on the day of my pickup that they didn't have any cars. The person I spoke to was very unprofessional and didn't respond to any of my questions. I gave them a one star but I would have given them a negative number. I wouldn't advise anyone to use them. read more

Horrible customer service. The drop box although sign on the door says there is. Arrived 15 minutes before opening to drop key and female worker inside would not take my key until right at 8. Made me wait outside. Hertz Club Gold member. I will not be renting here again. read more

They will cancel on you 2 hours before your trip. Be careful with this location if you have a reservation.
