Completed a reservation via Expedia three weeks prior to pick up, arrived on time and Hertz employee told me our car was not available. I asked why and he stated the car was out, I asked if they would replace with another vehicle to Walmart he said "no" "we don't have any more cars" I asked if we could get a smaller car, said no. I asked if they could assist with another agency, off course he said no. I asked what could he do, he said nothing.
"Rent with Alamo, or Sixt or anyone else, these folks are a franchise and don't care if there are reservations" in my case I had a sevens day for a large vehicle, had to get a car at another place and was lucky to find a car for the same price as my Expedia reservation.
I rent almost every other week for business from Avis, never had a problem in the last five years. Unfortunately Avis is not available at this airport and took a chance with Hertz. Never again! read more
