I went here by myself. I don't speak German., but I do love football. I got my ticket in the shop at Hofbanhof Station (or whatever it's called) It cost about 20 euro and was behind the goal on the second tier.
The game was a relatively dull 0-0, but the fans made it a really fun day out. The Koln fans chanted constantly while the Hertha fans behind the opposite goal bounced constantly.
Inside the stadium beer and snacks were far cheaper than you'd get at a British football match and of an infinitely better quality.
The fans collected up their litter, and even though had consumed huge quantities of alcohol somehow all behaved impeccably - take note fellow British football fans, drunken yobbery is not acceptable.
The stadium is easy to travel to as well, the U1/2 takes you to within a few hundred yards of the iconic Olympic Stadium.
If you want a ticket in the ultra zone, head to the goal side opposite Olympic torch. read more
