So exploring west London in preparation for Yelp's WestFest I stumbled upon this fabulous shop…read more Ignore the name, antiques enthusiasts look away now, the jewels here are for fashionistas! Art deco designs, 1950s plastic pineapples, Lady Di diamante replica drops, you name it and this shop has it! All with a price tag mind you but if you are looking for a special gift or item that will wow and impress all your friends look no further. You really can spend hours in here, or at least that's what I did. Everything is in a glass case as most of it is delicate and it must be hard stopping people with a five finger discount from snapping up these beauties otherwise. The items are all laid out thematically, so you'll find your scotty dog choker with the houndstooth broaches off course. Head on down if you have some time during the week, that way the whole place isn't over run by tourists and you can look in peace, even better than that, go on a rainy day... Notting Hill becomes a ghost town.

There are labels to let you know what styles/eras you are looking at and everything has a price tag on them. Please please go and see it for yourself. There are no words to describe the overwhelming beauty of the jewellery.

Great for Chelsea girls, Austique is a sweet boutique that stocks a lot of dresses and other girly…read morefashion. But while some pieces are a bit too precious for me, Austique's roster of designers is quite unique and usually exclusive to the Chelsea area. The shop started out with a focus on Australian labels, and while they have since cast their net wider, you'll still find an interesting range of Aussie designs (including my fav, Camilla and Marc). They also have gifty items/accessories (scented candles, lux slippers, cashmere gloves etc) and a great lingerie selection upstairs.

It's like a dream world of wonderfulness. Now I don't think this is a fancy dress shop, but they do sell a lot of fancy dress. I just think that the people who work here and their regular shoppers think it's quite normal to walk around London wearing cat ears. I popped in to grab some bits for halloween and for £20 walked away with a bag of goodies that will ensure I'm all fright on the night! It's not cheap, but I've seen pricer. Although their staff are super duper helpful and I was in and out in under five minutes with everything I needed. Yay for Ad Hoc.

Ted Baker is probably my favourite brand in England. It's classy and can be either dressy with a…read morenice suit, or casual with their regular clothes. Add in their accessories (their leather briefcases and shoulder bags are very nice), and you can outfit yourself pretty well. You can find pretty good sales during the right seasons, which is good because normally their prices are not cheap - not crazy expensive, but when you know you can get something 50% off in a couple months it's pretty easy to hold off buying it if you don't need it immediately. So go, be your trendy and fashionable West London self if you want to, you'll fit right in with Ted Baker at your disposal.
I find it so difficult to just browse in Butler and Wilson, actually I think it's impossible! The…read moreshop is perfect for anyone who is crazy about bags, jewellery, vintage clothes. With the largest selection of vintage dresses in London, it takes some serious willpower not to buy a few dresses. The prices range from very reasonable to maybe wait till pay day or someone can buy it for me. If you cannot get to either the Chelsea shop or the South Moton Street branch then have a look at the website The website is really great (although not sure about scary looking woman on home page??) and even contains the new arrivals. I love a bit of glitz and sequin but even I find some of the things a bit OTT (sequined baseball cap- NO WAY!) but they're still pretty to look at. They also do a range of Swarovski crystal keyrings which are ideal Christmas presents for your fashionista friends. I'm hoping that I'll get some goodies from Butler & Wilson in my Christmas stocking!
