when we first moved in, the place was fantastic. But it has evolved that this is no longer 55 and over...they wink wink have mom and dad sign the lease and the place is overrun with Stonybrook students and medical residents. younger people take over the gym , tennis courts and pool. management has said they are "sick of hearing our complaints about it". The clubhouse is for show... you have to get permission..and give them a guest list...for any gathering over 5 people; which, to be honest, most residents ignore because we do have to pay a $75/month amenity fee. But there are cameras and residents have been fined. Management picks and chooses which parts of the lease they wish to uphold...age limit, under 19 not allowed, amount of tenants per unit is ignored but they are stringent holding tenants to their lease. There is a clause regarding disruptive tenants, but they are certainly not vetting their tenants and also letting in lots of young people, multiple Huge and menacing dogs, so police are called regularly on the same disruptive units and management does nothing. Most of the original over 55 tenants are leaving so I would think within a year this will basically be off campus housing. read more
