I already have a crown on the tooth that may need a root canal, and I wanted to know whether, if the existing crown is in good condition and can be retained, their provider can permanently restore the access hole made through the crown after the root canal. I was told that they normally place a temporary filling and send patients back to their general dentist. I understood that, but that wasn't what I was asking. I wasn't asking anyone to determine over the phone whether my particular crown could be restored. I simply wanted to know whether permanent restoration of an existing crown is something their providers will do when clinically appropriate. I even asked if she could check with the provider. Instead of getting a simple answer such as, "Yes, we can do that if the crown is suitable," or "No, our office never does permanent restorations and always refers patients back to their dentist," I was told that it depends on the provider and my situation and that I would need to come in for a consultation. That's what I found frustrating. I completely understand needing an examination to determine whether my crown is suitable to keep. But I don't believe I should have to pay nearly $200 just to find out whether the provider offers the service I'm looking for in the first place. I ultimately decided not to schedule. The interaction left me feeling like getting me booked for a paid consultation was more important than simply finding out from the provider whether this was something they were willing to do.

Since their reopening, I have been impressed with how they are keeping patients safe within new guidelines due to the Covid-19 pandemic. On my first visit, every staff member was wearing masks and every patient had temperatures taken upon checking in. There is a form regarding your symptoms and any exposure to Covid-19 which you must initial and sign. It's all new and handled well, IMO. It's an interesting story how I came upon Renew since I live in a different area of Clarksville. Basically, my hygienist is the best! Gina has helped me with my teeth health for most of the last decade since moving here; and, when she left my previous dental office (and I got pregnant), I ended up going elsewhere when I had an emergency. Yup. Pregnancy resulted in a beautiful healthy baby at the expense of a lost tooth! I'm okay with that! Lol. Anyway, I am elated to be back in her chair for my cleanings and maintenance! I will be saddened when she decides to retire in the future. From a friendly greeting and smile at the check in counter to being walked out to the front after each visit, I feel genuinely cared for. The dental assistants are sweet and skilled. The whole office is nicely decorated and up-to-date! If you're not comfortable with or happy going to the dentist (like me), then give Dr. Gray and her staff a chance to change how you feel - or, at the least, they offer sedation and have massaging dental chairs! Maybe I'll try the nitrous gas for my next dental treatment. It'll be a good laugh!

We were notified of this while traveling and immediately rescheduled the appointment for the following Monday when they had an opening and it was chalked up as a miscommunication between both parties. We show up for the appointment on Monday as rescheduled and are informed that we will have to pay for both visits as we are leaving the appointment. The front desk attendant did not care that they put the appointment on the books wrong and required us to pay for both visits. As previously stated the staff apart from the front desk amazing, front desk is disappointing to say the least and puts a black mark on a nice business.

I was told that they take my insurance but are not in network and would cost ONLY about 5% more than others. I was told what the bill would be, got the work done, they tried to upcharge even more, but I turned it down because I can't afford more. I paid the total bill and left. A few weeks later I received a bill saying my insurance didn't cover it. I called the Hillcrest office and was told that it was only an estimate. What?!!! I would not have had anything done that cost so much. I don't have the money. I ended up paying, but it happened again and again. I have paid over $8,000 in extra costs. I stopped going months ago and I still am getting unpaid insurance bills for a year ago. Not only was I over charged, but they apparently did not even send in some of the bills to the insurance. Plus, the insurance keeps turning down the ones they received saying that it was UNNECESSARY work.
