Having attended an open day and informal interview i was pleased with the way people were generally concerned for your welfare and academic skills. Teamed with various other authorities and establishments there really is something for everyone here and being a stone throw away from the town centre it seems in the perfect location to. Amenities here are second to none as i got a tour of the computer suite and library. Probably one of the best colleges around. Go learn, party people!

The site is designed around the needs of the students who are blind or partially sighted. The facilities available are first class. This college not only strives to provide the best education it can for its students it also strives to ensure they achieve their full potential and are integrated into society fully and not marginalised by their disability. Some staff on site are partially sighted or blind but this does not hinder the performance of their duties. The college has a resturant on site which provides valuable income into the college. They have strong sporting ties with several sports and also have a leisure centre across the road which also helps to provide funding to the main college. They have halls of residence for students. When I…read morefirst started searching for marketing degrees in Birmingham I was surprised that they taught it the University College Birmingham and not Birmingham University. However, I soon learnt that where the lectures take place didn't matter as the degree was still accredited by the University. I'd say the main advantage of choosing UCB is that it's the college where young chefs learn their trade. Part of their course would allow them to run the student canteen which meant that we were spoilt daily with restaurant style food but charged student prices. One day I had a lemon chicken risotto with home-made apple crumble and custard for £2! If you live locally, you can walk in to the reception and ask to be let through to the onsite bakery where you can purchase fresh bread and cakes for 50 pence. Definitely worth popping in.

Till the final day when a spider the size of a small rodent was found going on a stroll in our rooms. Everything other than the constant and draining war with the spiders was lovely! Rooms were nice but the spider infestation left us uneasy.

The University of Bristol is a city university, unlike the other big Uni in Bristol, UWE, which is…read morea campus university. The Bristol Uni buildings are located all around the centre of the city, and most are very old and pretty. The university is pretty large, with around 13000 students, and they, along with their UWE counterparts, mean that the city is buzzing with life. The university does pretty well for itself; it's high in the league table, and draws a very Clifton-esque student population every year.
