Doctor said he was giving me an airheel for each foot, a splint for night time, and he was prescribing a topical pain reliever that would be filled by a Texas pharmacy since no local pharmacies carried it. My insurance company was billed $90 for each Airheel and $90 for the splint. Checking online, the exact same Airheel is readily available for less than $30 each and the splint for $20! A couple days later I get a call from the Texas pharmacy saying my insurance company declined to pay for the topical pain reliever so they were looking to set up a cash arrangement. I asked the cost and she replies, "Its in the thousands!" I already pay too much for healthcare but this facility makes me understand why! Absolutely irresponsible!
