Dr. Jeffrey Barasch was highly recommended by an excellent internist in Bergen County.  I found…read more he helped me in ways that other doctors could not or did not.  His office continues to be most helpful.  Lisa Finnegan is the nurse practitioner who works with him and she is encouraging, diligent, thorough, personable, reasonable and uses excellent judgement.  There are a number of other employees who also work in the Ridgewood Office.  I found all of the staff people to be helpful, knowledgeable, efficient, personable, professional and thorough.  I recommend this highly-recommended medical office to others who have sleep or breathing issues to address.  Some of the names of other staff include, Lisa (a second person with this name), Karen (not sure of spelling), Amber and Sheenah. Employees at the Valley Medical Sleep lab, who were efficient, helpful, polite, knowledgeable and positive in other ways include, but not limited to: Erika, John and Katherine.

My husband saw the Dr about a year ago for an appt and needed a follow up..when I called and spoke…read moreto the receptioniost I was told Dr B was booked for MONTHS but if my husband wanted to see the NP he could get an appt sooner (so I made the appt) I clearly explained why I was calling and asked questions BEFORE making the appt (kin a nutshell I was told my husband would need to be seen and would require another sleep study) ...long story short..nothing was accomplished at the appt and my insurance was charged $200! My husband was told there is no reason the appliance isn't working and he should have seen the dentist who made the appliance. I called to explain the situation and how before making the appt I explained what has been done and asked what we needed to do at this point....and was pretty much told tough luck....BEWARE!!

I was treated by Dr. Ashtyani, who is a warm, reassuring professional, and he has helped me develop a plan for better living and health that will enable quality sleep and correct many of these recurring problems. His staff is uniformly helpful and knowledgable, and they've been kind enough to quickly respond to my follow-up questions. While this will be an ongoing process for me, I can heartily recommend Dr. Ashtyani and the Sleep & Respiratory Institute.

When i arrived,…read morecheck-in was easy and the waiting room was empty (likely spacing appointments as a Covid precaution). the staff was kind and courteous with check in procedures and a cautionary Covid screening. Dr. Noumi had pleasant tableside manner and made me feel at ease after I experienced recent breathing difficulties and made sure to listen to my concerns and answer my questions thoughtfully. The office followed up as they said they would with an appointment reminder call. Billing was simple and there were no overcharges or snafus. Thank you again.

He specializes in lungs, breathing, sleep apnea, etc. Not only is he a great, qualified physician, he is also a wonderful, friendly person. He will answer any questions and answer any and all questions. He cared for me while I was in the hospital as well as in his office and he is always a gentleman and is very thorough. If you are looking for a great pulmonologist, you can do no better than Dr. Matalkah!
