I recently visited the hydrotherapy pool, having not been for quite a few years. While the pool is still lovely, the whole set up is desperately in need of updating and making more user friendly.
The reception area has no atmosphere - what about a little background music for a start instead of the cold silence?
The changing rooms are depressing and why is there a disused sauna there? Changing round the pool is not particularly pleasant and the poor drainage makes the floor difficult to walk on.
The entrance/exit is the most interesting! There are ridges in place from reception to the pool - so not wheelchair friendly, and there is an unused area in front of a single toilet which could have a table and chairs. A water dispenser would be nice! After using the only toilet there is no running water or towels. A bottle of hand cleanser is provided!
I assume that because it is the only such facility in Worthing, Henry House lives on its laurels and doesn't feel it needs to make an effort. If another such pool was opened the story would probably be different. The price has also recently gone up!
To sum up, a big effort and some TLC is desperately needed to make this rather tired place the great facility it could and should be. read more
