I am updating my review because after much pressure they finally agreed to credit me back for the…read moreunused breakfasts during our stay I hope they will fix their shower situation , WIFI and attitude towards client to be worthy of a 4 star Beautiful settings and location sub par accommodations and service Here are 3 things not acceptable in a 2 star hotel let alone one pretending to be 4 stars . 1/ Rooms have no showers; you have to sit in bathtub and hold shower head above your head (no wall attachment) 2/ non functioning wifi ( 1.5 MBS max and constant need login with very tricky passwords if you leave room or stop using your computer for 5 minutes) which makes it unusable & 3/ Dishonest people. We booked our hotel thru expedia and overlooked the fact that we had paid (Euro 28 / person for breakfast = a total of 420 euros for our Family. The hotel was 1/2 empty and at NO TIME were we told that our breakfast was included (voucher, reminder like in any hotel! let alone 4 star). Upon returning we realized this and contacted Expedia and the hotel which refused to credit us back stating that they had indicated to us (true) the presence of breakfast facility!! I am outraged and out by $470 adding insult to injury. This was a big birthday with my Family coming from the US. Please avoid this place. Lastly the beautiful pool is not heated and freezing cold so no guests used it over the 3 days we were there.

The chateau is in a beautiful private area--the estate is rather large with the chateau itself having ~6-8 guest rooms, in addition to a large kitchen, seating area, salon, garden, pool, and more! The decorations are a mix of modern and classic from the paintings that cover the walls to the furniture and appliances. We were extremely pleased with appliances such as the sink, shower, toilettes, etc. as they were modern and worked great. When it comes to food, we definitely recommend asking Diane about attending one of her dinners--she cooks these dinners herself with some sous chefs and the meal is amazing! Very fresh ingredients done in a fine-dining yet simple way. For breakfast, a standard French breakfast is included which was croissants, fruit, jam, bread, and coffee or tea. If you want to opt in to a larger breakfast with eggs, crepes, etc. that is an extra cost. The pool in the back of the estate is great. There are several chairs to use to lounge on and the pool feels very exclusive as all that surrounds you is nature. The city center of Monflanquin is about a 10 minute drive away. The city is beautiful and there are shops and restaurants to choose from. Definitely recommend Chateau Ladausse for a magical/ romantic/ unique experience in a beautiful part of France!

The restaurant, located across the vine-covered patio, offers fine local cuisine and friendly service. Our one-week stay was a very good deal. Virginie was welcoming, attentive, and efficient. Even though the Auberge serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we were welcome to bring our own breakfast and wine to the patio and to enjoy the terrasse alongside the restaurant's guests. Exploring the Périgord Noir with quiet and unassuming Siorac as a home base was fun, both in our rental car and on our rental bikes, which the Auberge stored for us at the end of each day. A low-key, welcoming, home-like place with nice rooms and excellent food. Warmly recommended.
