In many parts of Bristol I actually rather enjoy the post office experience. I enjoy the colourful and happy take people have on a seemingly mundane job, guessing what customers are sending and chatting to the staff.
In Henleaze, unfortunately, that's a far cry from this postal reality. It must be something to do with the many retirement homes in the area because this post office moves at a frustrating slow snail pace. There's a passport photo machine in the corner but aside from that it could be 1932 in here. 1932 at Christmas time - because they're always selling Christmas paper!
In fact, I don't think the scene inside has ever changed. Maybe it is a time warp. Maybe, other than to post socks to your ailing nan, you could pop in here to actually sample the pace of life of a time gone.
