The coffees are perfect and the croissants are the best I have ever had. Which says a lot because I consider myself a connoisseur of croissants. We have not been able to try their various breads but we see people come in constantly buy the bread to bring home. They also have many hot foods prepared to choose from. This is a true gem. It's not a place to sit down and for drinking prepared tea but for purchasing quality looseleaf teas and infusions to prepare and enjoy at home. They do sell a selection of coffees as well, but it's apparent as you enter their main product is tea and infusions. Their variety of quality teas is so extensive I recommend looking through their handy catalog at the counter which gives a brief description of each to choose which ones you want to buy. They have all kinds: white, green, oolong, black, ... and teas from all over including China, India, Ceylon and more. Each geographical region and method of fermentation can affect the unique nuances of flavor. It's an adventure to discover your favorite! Each variety comes with instructions for brewing for best results. I bought three kinds of black tea as that is my wife's favorite. You purchase by weight. You indicate which variety and how much you would like. The helpful staff measure out and weigh it out and put it in special bags or the tin of your choosing. They have a nice selection of beautiful tins for storing your tea as well as teapots, cups, brewing baskets, and things to accompany your tea such as honey. If you're tired of what my wife calls "mummy dust" that's commonly sold in teabags and want to drink some quality tea, you need to go to a tea shop like this. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. If I get to return to Alcalá de Henares my wife says I must stop in here again. If I have extra room in my luggage I will try one of their coffees.
