The most horrible dining experience I have ever had!. Visiting from out of town with my family. Fish and chicken dishes were so overdone they were like rubber. Edamame was not cooked enough. Place was practically empty on a Sunday night and food took forever. Server did not know protocol for opening a bottle of wine table-side. There were five of us, 3 of the meals came out, the other 2 did not. Ten minutes later we asked to speak to a manager. When the manager came to the table we were shocked. He had been dining at the table next to us with his family, dressed in beach garb. He was absolutely clueless to say the least.. When my husband informed him that two of the meals had not come out, he abruptly left the table and then came back with some crushed red pepper and grated cheese condiments. Never said a word. No apologies, nothing. Shortly thereafter the remaining meals came out. McDonalds would have been a better choice ( and much cheaper) . . . never again! You couldn't pay me to patronize this restaurant ever again. read more

Our first impression was great. Looks nice. Tastefully decorated. We were seated just off to the left of the bar in a booth. I suddenly smelled cigarettes. I asked a passing waiter and he pointed behind me to a smoking room with a glass door horribly located at the entrance of the main dining room. Well the door doesn't server much of a purpose if its constantly opening and closing. We smelled cigarette smoke all evening long. Salads and drinks were brought quickly and we good. (we passed on apps) After a long wait the waitress comes to tell us the order machine was broken and the kitchen never got our order. it was over an hour after the salads that we finally got our meal. I got the Land and the Sea. (surf&turf) My steak was good, done just like I asked. Veggies were good, fresh, crisp. But the stuffed shrimp were dried out and burnt at the tips and the mashed potatoes were barely luke warm and dried out. They did however attempt to make amends and give us free desert for the foul up. good call. The foul up made the evening lapse into the "dance club" portion on the night which is when it got noisy and crowded. All in all..... I would go again, I'm always willing to give 2nd chances but I will DEFINITELY be asked to be seated no where near that smoking room and advise the same for all. Also make sure you're gone by 10 if you dont want to be engulfed by a crowd of "Jersey Shore" wannabees. read more

Ate here last September for a small family event and thought the food was very good. So I was looking forward to having a Birthday dinner there with a friend of mine. We arrived around 8 and the wait was about 30 minutes. We were starving so decided to eat at the bar. First I have to say I love the decor and atmosphere and the sushi bar was packed as well. I ordered 2 appetizers - a mixed green salad (which was good) and the calamari with balsamic and gorgonzola. Well I could barely eat it as it was way too chewy. Although the balsamic and cheese added a nice flavor there were very few pieces of calamari that I didn't have to chew and chew before it finally broke into pieces that I could swallow. My friend ordered the sushi and it seems like the order was not put in as it took about 30 minutes for her to get it. She didn't find the calamari as chewy as I did so while she waited for her sushi she ate some of my meal. When her sushi arrived she was very disappointed to see 2 very small pieces of tuna on one side of a large plate and 2 equally small pieces of another fish on the other side. After waiting over a year to have the opportunity to eat there again - a very - very disappointing meal for sure. read more

Been here a couple times and has been ok.calamari w/balsamic glaze and caesar salad is really good.Cheese pie was only ok at best.Under cooked on the bottom and just too small of a pie.Could easily eat two pies myself. We had great service both times,But know better then to go when its overly crowded down there.Will give it another try this year before summer is up. read more

haven't even ordered food yet & giving 1 star. was told 10 min wait. after 20 was told another 10-15 only 2 servers available on a saturday night. seriously! finally get seated at a booth with nasty peeling benches. no name tags on any staff. waitress didn't introduce herself. asked what we wanted to drink. only drinks on menu are alcoholic drinks. i asked what they had for drinks other than alcoholic drinks cause nothings on menu. all she said was pepsi products. so i'm irritated at this point & ask that's all they have is soda & alcohol? she looks dumbfounded. "u don't have iced tea or anything other than soda?" with attitude "unsweetened tea" another few seconds "we have lemonade" me-" u couldn't have told me that to begin with?" her arguing -" well i didn't know what u meant" idk i thought if i asked what drinks u had other than alcohol u would say all drinks. i had to tell her to stop arguing with me & that she wasn't being professional. she tried telling me i wasn't nice to her. we'll answer the question i ask in first place. will never eat here again. read more

I haven't been to Hemmingsway in two years. Went this evening, ordered apricot sours and margaritas..no apricot brandy so two margaritas...made with pineapple juice...sent them back...waitress was new and clueless...onion soup came out cold...sent it back...second was was slightly better. ordered burger med rare...came out cold and well done...the replacement was raw...the manager was rude to my husband about the drinks and the staff was fighting with the manager...if we do go back, it's pizza.... read more

I ate there on Friday 9/1/17 and had such a disappointing experience. I dined with two friends. Our waitress, Megan, was nice but not very good at her job. My friend ordered two drinks for some business associates located across the restaurant,and they never received them. When we asked Megan what happened she blamed the drink runner, and then assured us she would take the drinks off of the bill. I feel it was her job to make sure the order she took was taken care of. Our food took extremely long to arrive, especially since the restaurant was not that crowded. My friend ordered a second beer and she did not come to the table with it for at least 20 minutes. We had been done eating for at least another 20 minutes and no waitress in sight. I finally had to flag down a different waiter who brought us our check, which still had the two undelivered drinks on it! When Megan did return she blamed the check snafu on the other waiter. Clearly doing her job was not her responsibility. read more

Went here tonight with four of my friends. Sat down and ordered sushi, pizza, drinks and a chicken salad. Our waitress was very nice and seemed efficient. The food we received was great. Unfortunately I can't give this place a rave review. Why? We received the pizza before our drinks. We are friendly and considerate so we wait. And wait. The chicken salad comes. No drinks. Finally drinks come. No sushi. We were waiting for two orders of sushi. Finally one comes, but not the second. What? Where's the other order? We wait. We wait. It's getting ridiculous. We wait. It finally comes out and it's not the right order. It wasn't even close to the correct order. At this point, we just want our bill. Our waitress is apologetic, but not effective. Then she promises we won't pay for the sushi. Gee, why would we? She then offers to take something off the order. She gave us a free glass of wine. Ummm. Not, a good way to run a restaurant at all. I'm not the type to look for free stuff. And I'm also not the type to get someone in trouble. But, this was ridiculous. The manager should have come over. I asked, but when pressed we didn't want the waitress to get in trouble. It's a shame. The food we received was yummy. The experience was ruined and we won't come back. Cross this off your list unless you're dieting and like to be annoyed. read more

So, I'm sitting in the restaurant right now as I write this. We have a server name Keith , it's his second day on the job, and I will admit he's doing a great job. He is very aware of our needs and has came to our table several times to make sure we are okay. The drinks and food are amazing. The drinks have been strong the food very flavorful , however we have waited an hour and a half until our food has arrived which is very unacceptable. Our appetizer took over half hour to arrive. I see no reason why to come back to this restaurant for such poor service as far as food time. We only had 5 people on our table. If you're looking to have a good time and some drinks I recommend it, if you're hungry, across the street is a Pizzeria I strongly suggest to go to it. Let's see if we're going to get, compensation for anything when the bill comes which I highly doubt. If I am wrong, I will update this post read more

this place was awesome! we actually passed it on the and way to another seafood place bc they actually served alcohol. the staff was very friendly and the food came out fast. it was delicious :) definitely recommend if you're in the area read more
