The museum is very close to another historical landmark - Cathedral, and stands out as the oldest building in the senate square. It's also free to enter, so no reason not to visit!
The museum is relatively small, it will take 1 hour max to walk around.
The staff is very friendly, speak English and even Russian, and very helpful. Plenty of places to sit down if you are tired while exploring, or you could go to the cafe, but it was pretty packed when we were there.
One of the brightest memories for me is 'Time Machine', where you walk around the city landscape and it changes.
The fourth floor features exhibition of mental hospital patients work, which is very unusual and not something you normally expect to see in a museum, but important to get an insight into the society. read more
