I've been a member here for 6 months and I've come here 2-4 days a week consistently and I actually look forward to it! It's a friendly non judgement place with clean facilities. I always come for a workout class but I come a little early to get in a quick run before as well. When it's hot outside I bring my son and we have a nice pool day. The pool staff is amazing they always offer up toys for him to play with. I couldn't be more happy here. Favorite classes: Pilates and yoga with Kristen. She's so relaxing and I love her! I also recently started going to BodyPump class for a harder workout and let me tell you, that class kicked.my.a$$!!!!!!

The staff at the front are knowledgeable and always greet us! The locked doors where you have to be buzzed in are great! It is always clean, and the kids get really good snacks and lunch. The people who work here are so kind and patient with kids, and I can tell they really love their kids and job! My only regret is not putting him in daycare sooner. He has learned so much! By the time he started pre k he knew his abc's and numbers and colors! He moved on to the 4 year old class with Mrs.Delores. She is such a caring and amazing teacher! I was sad when he turned 5 and moved to a different class, but his current teacher is just as great and he always has fun stories to tell me about his day. She is also helping him learn to finish his daily work. He would never finish just scribble. Ive seen so much improvement! I'm so proud of my big boy! I LOVE LOVE LOVE his teachers past and present! My other son started when he was 18 months. He is still having a hard time at drop offs, but when I check on my phone and see him on the cameras he is always playing and having fun. The amount of knowledge he has gained here in the first few months was great, but now it is amazing! He is 2 and know's his ABC's, how to count to 10, some colors, and just talks so well! Everyday he says something new to amaze me. He sings songs he learns in class, and the sign language! OMG! He knows quite a few signs and it just amazes me everytime I see him use them! My experience with Crossover/ Cy-Fair Showcase was challenging to say the very least. But lets…read morestart off with first impressions. Initially I was pleased to patronize a black owned business with what seemed like such knowledgeable coaches. The facility was well equipped and it was close to home. I even had first hand knowledge from others who had received training there and referred my son for AAU basketball. The try outs were pretty nice. Lots of coaches providing skilled instruction. I was a little taken aback by the $1600 price tag for the 4 month season. To clarify that included $300 for the uniform. I figured this was just something that was worth paying for. So I jumped in head first. Even the first practice I sat in on I was excited because the coaches were clearly experienced and providing good instruction for the boys for the skills and drills and the pure fundamentals of good team ball; defensive strategy, running a good offense, etc. They were really good at catching the kids in their errors and then explaining to them the why behind why they needed to make the corrections to improve their game. I was happy, these guys had exactly what my son needed to take his game from good to great. I thought..... So here we are in the next couple of practices and the first thing I notice is the coach has changed. A new young man who seemed to know basketball but knew very very little about coaching. All of the other coaches who were so skilled in the try outs and first practice were gone. From that point on it was a pure nightmare. The coach was getting his information from the parents on when the games were going to be. And watching practice was seeing this guy play a pick up game with the boys or just basically herding cats. No structure whatsoever. Next issue; We received emails mid way thru the season that they were cancelling tournaments for our team because some of the parents had not paid on time. Mind you, we had only had 3 tournaments at this point. How is that possible? We were supposed to be paying $300 initially for the uniform and then $200 biweekly thereafter. . Since they only have 2 tournaments per month. Cancelling 1 or 2 can cause my kid to miss a whole month of play. And btw....no refunds is on every document. By this point I was already about $700 in. I don't know how your checking account works but that's alot of money to throw away. We met and they reconsidered thankfully. Next issue; uniforms came in when the season was almost over. At this point all I could do was shake my head. Next issue; most tournaments are played at crossover gym. There isn't a water fountain.....IN THE WHOLE BUILDING! IN A GYM!but they do sell water. And this includes practice also. Coaches don't bring water for the boys suing games either. And they charge $10 each game.....even for the teams that crossover is their home gym. And never offered a discount. Next issue; they attempted to split the team after about a month of practices and 2 tournaments. The best description I have for how this was handled is it was a cluster @#$! Last issue; We (the parents) were trying to give the young Coach a chance. But there were other skilled coaches in the same gym with other team that we could clearly see were skilled at what they were doing. It was infuriating to say the very least. We complained to Coach Tee, Coach Jeremy, and Coach Will several times. After multiple meetings and most of the season gone they agreed we NEEDED a new coach. The good part: Coach Jeremy agreed to take over the team. OMG, the difference was night and day. This guy is excellent at what he does. He had only practiced with our boys 1x before the next tournament and he killed it. We were upsetting teams back to back. Whereas before we were getting blown out by 30 and 40 pts. That's not to say we won all of our games after that. But when they played they looked like a team. And everyone was being coached to their strength. It was like watching a maestro how he positioned the kids and instructed them in the games. I was truly outdone! This was like a totally different team. I am so glad my son had an opportunity to work with Coach Jeremy. He is much better in his game today because of the short time he had. Trust me Coach Jeremy is the only reason I am giving Crossover 2 stars. Also depending on your kids age Coach Pagan is good too. Seriously I could keep going all day with issues from the season I had with Crossover/Cy-Fair Showcase. But I guess the moral of the story is, if you are planning to sign your kid up at Crossover be sure you know what you are getting. We had a bit of a bait and switch there at the beginning which cost me and my son ended up wasting half his season with foolery.

My daughter loved Blackwood Nature Camp for five summers. It was the one place she felt she could…read moretruly be herself. She dreamed of becoming a counselor. Even after she was interviewed and selected to their Counselor-in-Training program, this year she was removed from the training based on a year‑old accusation we were never told about, never shown documentation for, and never given a chance to discuss. She was confronted alone as a minor, her belongings were searched without her knowledge, and she was later told not to ever speak about the incident. Even after multiple attempts to discuss the incident with Camp leadership, including their Board members, I never received a response. The way this was handled has caused her significant emotional distress and destroyed her trust in the adults running the camp. I hope Blackwood reevaluates how it treats children under their care. I cannot recommend Blackwood Nature Camp. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions as a parent.

The event was from 10-2 and we were greeted and invited to roam and explore the grounds. Their farm is EXQUISITELY designed. Later, the on-site farmer, Becca, took us on a tour and we learned about organic gardening and the balance between plants and soil. It's all about the soil :) Becca was on hand to explain her farming techniques and answer our questions. We were served a delicious lunch outdoors in the large covered patio. This is a MUST SEE/VISIT place. My pics don't do it justice. Our group was a four year old and her grandparents and we all had fun!
