This place told me to arrive 15 minutes early for my appointment- only for the tech to be running super late. I drove 35 minutes for my appointment, arriving at 7:45 am as instructed. By 8:20 am, the tech was still not ready for me, so I had to leave to make it to a meeting. There is no receptionist here, so I had to discuss my issues with a random phone number. 1/4 tank of gas and two hours driving/waiting later, I left HelloSugar empty handed with a text that said "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused!" Very unpleasant experience. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I am local to Nashville, not sure why it says I'm from California . I am not one to write reviews, but I am super disappointed. I have gone to Hello Sugar for both waxing and laser. I received an email saying I was eligible for a discounted rate promo for a laser hair session. I signed up using the link in the email and the system recognized me as a returning customer. I was able to confirm and book my reduced pricing online. I paid my deposit. I showed up early to my appointment and was told I was NOT eligible for the promo. I understand that sometimes mistakes happen within the system, but it's not my fault as a customer that you improperly set up your booking system. Victoria, the technician, should have called before I drove all the way to the appointment to tell me I was not eligible. It's not OK to wait until the customer is in person at their appointment having already paid their deposit and received a confirmation of the total amount to then tell the customer that they have to pay a different rate, and you're not willing/able to do anything different. If I would've received a call before hand, I would've understood. But when a customer takes time out of their day to show up to an appointment and you change the price on them, it's not OK. Absolutely will not return to Hello Sugar again. 0/5 for customer service. read more

My complaint is not against the technicians at this location my complaint is against the company. I became a member and was told I had a membership price for my service of Brazilian waxing. We decided to do sugaring instead which I assumed would be covered under the membership price of waxing. Instead every month since my membership started I was charged the membership fee in addition to my appointment fee. In essence I was double charged every month for my service. Beware of the company not the technicians that are working for them. Keep track of your monthly charges. As of now the company has refused to refund me any money for the overcharged service. If that changes I will change my review on this site. Update: I will adjust my review since they will give me credits going forward for the amount I was overcharged. The space is small but clean. The esthetician missed some hairs, but did get most of them. My main issue was that she had me hold my legs in the air during part of the wax (brazilian), which was quite uncomfortable. I've never had anyone make me do that and I've been getting waxed consistently for years (I am also a licensed esthetician and know how to properly perform a brazilian wax without making the person hold uncomfortable positions.) read more

These folks are doing a free bikini wax promotion, so I texted (as requested) to schedule an appointment. They offered me a 3:05pm and I immediately responded with yes, that's perfect. They then sent me a message trying to upsell me on services, which I actually did agree to one, so I was going to paying on top of the "free" service. They continued texting me for an hour and were slow to respond until finally telling me that the slot I had confirmed (as well as others they had offered that day) was no longer available. I told them that was a little frustrating as I thought I had confirmed that slot 2 hours ago, and that I'd just go with my regular person. Here's where they got me to write this review: their response to my text about cancelling altogether and the scheduling leaving something to be desired was "You're welcome, send us a text to schedule something in the future!" I'm sorry what? You've wasted 2 hours of my time, didn't book the appt I thought I had and wanted, and don't think it deserves an "I'm sorry for the confusion or inconvenience"? Free or not, the customer service clearly isn't great. I'm assuming the free bikini wax is to advertise a new space, and I gotta say it's probably back firing. Put someone in place that respects people's time and has some kind of customer service experience and maybe don't use text as a scheduling tool if you can't make it work the way it should. read more

I could literally see through the blinds and see the woman on the table prior to my appointment, no cleaning done between clients, and an extremely rude "aesthetician" if you even want to call her that. I am a first time client and dont know if i need to complain about the company itself or the third party booking...or both. For one i came in for an appointment at 9am, no one was at the front desk to redirect me after wondering for at least 5 mins. I had to call the third party number and an aesthetician finally came in and told me whoever i was waiting for was late, so i patiently waited for about an hour before i had to knock on the aestheticians door and ask if i were going to be serviced. She told me i had no appointment after seeing me wait atleast an hour instead of asking who i was waiting for or anything...just leaving me clueless. So i ask what can i do for my time being wasted and she said just to call number ... the same one who put me in the situation im in now.. The free sugaring is not worth the runaround. read more

I love coming here for my waxing services! Destiny is my favorite and ONLY tech. She's super fun, down to earth and really creates a calm atmosphere. I've gone to a few places but I appreciate how approachable Destiny is. I wasn't super new to waxing but I wasn't familiar with the different types and she was more than happy to explain them to me as many times as I needed. If you're not super good with pain, have no fear! She's a motivational speaker and comedian all in one. It's gonna hurt baby, but at least you gained a friend and now ur a baddie! read more

I responded to a Facebook ad and after that they blew my phone up!!! I gave them my information and looked forward to the appointment!! I get there and there's a lady waxing her brows at the desk...like one eye brow full of wax (I guess she had a lot of downtime)!! I say hey she's say "oh I don't do males" and give me a crazy look..I'm like uh did the person on the phone not tell you I was a male before I came all the way here ? She like "oh no she didn't say"!! So congratulations on wasting my time and not making clear that you don't do males or even making that a question before you decide to be so thirsty and book anybody!! At first everything was going well . The girl that done my Brazilian wax was very nice. She did inform me that there were small hairs that she couldn't get out . When I got home I noticed I had a good amount of hairs that didn't get waxed that were long. She didn't do a good job making sure she got all the hairs . Also I got a burn on my Bikini line I'm not sure if it was from the hot wax or the products she had used but I'm not allergic to anything . I never post Yelp reviews, but feel obligated to so others can avoid my experience. I went in for a free bikini wax promo and opted in for a $15 brow wax as well. The name of the company suggests they use sugar wax. They did not. While it wasn't specified, this feels like a very intentional misleading situation. Hindsight, this should have been my first red flag. I get my bikini wax. The person doing it used hard wax and neglected to pull my skin tight when performing the wax, which is like... Waxing 101. There was zero consideration paid to shape or symmetry. Whatever, it's free, but should have been my second red flag. Moving on to eyebrows. My gut KNEW not to let this person touch my eyebrows, but like a fool, I did. I specified I wanted to keep the shape and the fullness (my eyebrows were full and took years to achieve) I just wanted to even out the little discrepancies in shape and clean up the edges. They used a different wax for my eyebrows because I expressed a history of skin sensitivity, which was considerate. However, they did an absolutely terrible job. They left my eyebrows SO thin, think over-plucking in the early 2000s thin. They were LESS even than when I started the growing/shaping process post 2000s. My eyebrows didn't start or end in the same place and weren't the same shape or thickness, like, at all. When they were finished I said something along the lines of they feel very thin, they said "they're not that bad" and of course, caught themselves saying this and corrected it to "they look okay". Still not a good sign. My "FREE" visit ended up costing me close to $120 (so far) because the following day I had to go get henna eyebrows because this person absolutely butchered my face. The person doing my henna was appalled by the terrible quality and repeatedly apologized to me for having to experience that, despite them being a different company entirely. They noted that the person who did my wax didn't even get the hair at the roots and all the hairs appeared to be broken instead (this is why you pull the skin!). A couple of weeks later, I have tons and tons of bumps around my eyebrows, hairs growing back already (because they weren't pulled at the root), and my bikini wax is already growing back similar to if I had shaved instead. If I weren't convinced this company would do nothing, I would pursue having my necessary hennas and (later on in the regrowth process) tinting paid for by Hello Sugar (for realistically the next 6 months to a year while my eyebrows grow back to the fullness I spent YEARS growing and shaping). Based on the misleading first interaction and complete ineptitude of the person doing my wax, I have zero confidence anything will be done about it. Go somewhere else, y'all. read more

I wish I could give a raving review. I can't even speak for the services Hello Sugar Nashville provides. I showed up to my appointment 20 minutes early because I live out of town. I got a text message 5 minutes before my appointment saying my esthetician would be late. I didn't mind waiting, I had cleared my morning for this appointment because I'm going on vacation. I got another text maybe 10-15 minutes later saying she just wasn't going to show up, but that I could reschedule. I don't know what the circumstances were. Their website says the "full butt" wax includes the cheeks AND strip but my waxer Sarah told me it was only the cheeks. Why say one thing on your website then have your waxers tell us different while still paying the price listed for the FULL wax? Disappointed, won't return. read more
