Love love love the ambiance. It is fun, vibrant, and playful. Such a great hang out spot. They have lawn games and it is perfect for groups. They offer a wide variety of Hawaiian food. I have never been to Hawaii but this scratches the itch. The food itself is just okay, but the desserts are really good. The standout for me is the POG lemonade. It is delicious. It is far from us but whenever we are in the area we make sure to stop by.

Really cute little place to hang out if you have time. Bright, airy, open. They have outdoor seating as well with lawn chairs and lawn games. We went for breakfast and got the breakfast combo with a slider with Portuguese sausage. The sandwich was sweet. It had sweet bbq sauce on it. I chose a drink instead of coffee and had a lemonade. Aside from being really sweet, it had a good taste. We also tried the combo with bacon which was good. They answered our questions about different menu items and were very nice. When we are around again, we'll stop and try something off the Lunch menu.

    You can get family meal.

Social media isn't always a bad thing. Smart people use it to promote their business. This is exactly how I found out about this place. Shout out to "Georgians" that venture out and find these hidden gems all over the state. This was how I found out about this Hawaiian place. Everything is Hawaiian themed. They have a drive-thru and dine in. I will be bringing my entire family for dinner another time. The ambience is like you're in Hawaii and laying out on the beach. Their drink bar is all you can drink and mix it with any exotic island flavor that you like. I mixed the strawberry guava, pineapple, sweet tea and water it down with some water because I can't have too much sugar. My daughter mixed hers with lychee lime, sweet tea, and orange. Both of our drinks were tasty. We will definitely hit up their dessert bar too. They have mochi donuts fillings and nonfillings, Hawaiian cake, and island soft serve ice cream in strawberry guava, pineapple, lychee lime, blue Hawaiian, and Lilikoi Orange. Dont take my word for it. Try it yourself!

I had a phenomenal experience! From the first moment we drove up. This place looks like a resort and we were transported to a topical destination. It's so cool and worth the long drive. Someone came outside to greet us and take our picture. Come to find out it was one of the managers, Stephanie who was super sweet and accommodating. I told her it was our first time and she shared to enjoy ourselves. We walked on the patio first and have so much fun with the swinging chairs and the bean bag toss. It was very family friendly and inviting. We stood in line for just a few mins to review the menu and ended up subscribing for our free dessert. I couldn't decide between the steak or burger but the cashier/hostess, Rebecca made the recommendation of the steak. She was so patient with my son wondering around and messing with the cups lol We got the fries along with the chicken kids meal. The steak was just as she described, marinated in the teriyaki juices! Amazing! I'm a Philly girl and never thought of a sweet cheese steak but with the Hawaiian buns these sliders did it for me! The fries were crispy but they did lack flavor. My son had no complaints so it's good for kids. He really loved the chicken! The variety of juices for lemonades were great as well. A little tart but I loved the fun colors! Also wouldn't want them too sweet either. The pellet ice were also cute Then they even had the handwashing station outside along with the tables so plenty of outdoor/indoor eating areas. The music was a beautiful accompaniment. We really enjoyed ourselves! Stephanie came back outside to check on us and gave me some history that it's owned by Kings Hawaiian the first location ever! I'm glad to have experienced this place. Can't wait to go back! The ice cream is dairy free in pineapple or strawberry I got the mix. It tastes different but was still good. Would like to try the baked goods next time as she shared they bake at 4am daily and it is very important part of the business hence the br Blessing to business.

I've seen this place all over social media - and was influenced. On our way back from the Florida gulf, we made a stop in Atlanta and drove an extra 30 minutes out of the way to stop by here. While there was ample parking, ordering was quick, the issue was the very limited indoor seating. With two younger kids I had to scope and wait around trying to snag a table since it was so cold outside. The food: - Huli huli chicken bowl was beyond disappointing. There was no flavor, dry chicken and rice. - mochiko chicken bowl also lacked flavor. - tacos - very tasty but not super filling for the $12 for 2 - Terriyaki slider - wonderful, ended up ordering more of these - spam musubi - typical and ready in the box by the counter, just pricey at $4.95 per - malasada - my first time having these and they weren't anything special. Felt very chewy. - Rainbow cake - light, fluffy, not to sweet

Delicious food, I love the Hawaiian spam sandwich and every dishes here. The dessert is not too sweet and I like that they used cane sugar. Definitely worth the visit and will come back again. Discovering Hello Hilo in Gainesville is like stumbling upon a tropical oasis in the heart of the South. Developed by the Taira family--founders of King's Hawaiian--this fast-casual eatery infuses authentic Hawaiian flavors with a modern twist, offering a menu that delights both the adventurous palate and those seeking comfort food. Signature dishes like the crispy mochiko chicken bowl, huli huli chicken, and lava steak bulgogi are served alongside tropical beverages such as the POG juice (passionfruit, orange, guava) and Hawaiian Rainbow lemonade. The ambiance is equally captivating, featuring a hand-painted 50-foot lei mural by Hawaiian artist Brandy-Alia Serikaku, bamboo-paneled ceilings, and a covered patio adorned with swinging chairs and vibrant decor. Whether you're indulging in their house-made malasadas or enjoying a family-style 'Ohana Pack', Hello Hilo offers a slice of island paradise that's both unique and unforgettable.

This place is so cute ! They sell mostly bowls with rice and protein on top. The flavor was really good and cooked well. I love all the drink options they have and lots of desserts. Everything is so colorful and open and pretty. Good food for Hawaiian cuisine.

You can certainly get the Loco Moco here...

What do you do when you're back to Gainesville from the SoCalifornia?.... ofcourse you stop at the Hello Hilo for a bite to eat. Three of us and it's been a long year. The outside is just what I remember and the insides has some great flavored Hawaiian lemonade. Every item on the menu is a good choice. The lovely missus opted for the Teriyaki Steak Sliders and then number one son had the same sliders and a bowl of Hawaiian Chili. My choice when in Hawaii would be the Loco Moco and so be it here in far away Gainesville. We had made them all combos so we could sample all the different drinks and the POG is always a favorite. We could not leave unless we got a Spam Musubi to go as well as a Glazed Mochi Donut and two each Classic Malasadas. Hello Hilo was a fun lunch and we were glad to have returned.

Found Hello Hilo on Yelp while looking for something unique in the area. This certainly fit the bill. Additionally- I think I read it is created/owned by the makers of Kings Hawaiian Rolls- Beautiful design and decor, unique (yummy)food options, friendly service and convenient location make this a highly recommended spot. I had the Huli huli chicken bowl and my husband had the spicy bulgogi sandwich with hurricane fries, dole whip and POG drink. The bowl was flavorful and delicious. Husband wasn't sure about the sandwich at first as it tasted a bit fishy- after 2/3 bites he liked it better and ate the entire thing. Fries were good. I didn't care for the pineapple whip but I think just a flavor thing for me- I had never had one before. The POG juice was yummy and the mochi donut was a nice treat after dinner. Stop by and try this place!

We drove almost an hour to check out this place because we heard wonderful things about its authenticity. We saw lots of kids with families there so it must be a friendly place to be. Outside area had cornhole, giant jenga blocks, and a few comfy chairs. Food was so filling that we took the rest home as leftovers. My favorite thing out of the Hello Hilo rice bowl was the mochiko chicken. Malasadas were so delicious! It's not Leonard's Bakery in Honolulu, but gets the job done. House made pog was really sweet but had tropical flavors I miss from Hawaii. Definitely want to go back!

Drove over an hour to try this place for lunch because of the hype on IG and TKTK. I've been to Hawaii several times and know good Hawaiian food and this wasn't it. I had the Loco Moco and was really disappointed. The egg was overcooked...no runny yolk at all. The hamburger was covered in panko and either deep fried or baked with no flavor other than dry panko crumbs. The brown gravy tasted like it was from a giant carton with no taste. The Jasmine rice with tomato salsa was the best thing from my bowl. My wife had the Crispy Mochiko Chicken bowl with no real complaints. My daughter had the Lava Spicy Steak Bulgogi bowl. This was good, but it is spicy as in the name. It is filling too, but will definitely leave your mouth on fire! For drinks, we had two Hawaiian Lemonades and one Macadamia Nut Latte. All drinks were good, but the lemonades are extremely sweet. Add a lot of ice or mix with water to dilute the sweetness. The lady working the register was nice, but very soft spoken and she got my order wrong initially. I ordered two combos, but never received the fries and it didn't dawn on me until we were finished. This was our first and last time of eating here sadly because we really like Hawaiian food.

We stopped by here after the Atlanta Lantern Boat Festival around 7pm on a Saturday night. I LOVE the ambiance here. It's so festive and relaxed and beautiful. I really wish this was closer to Atlanta. I enjoyed everything we tried. To be honest, we didn't eat any "real" food, except for a cheese spam musubi, which was great! We also got a shaved ice, some soft serve ice cream, and a masalada. Some of the flavors weren't as good as we had hoped. Like we couldn't taste Lychee in the lychee lime syrup. But I think it's a great spot.

Do ash and paradise cakes, malasadas, mochi donuts, and some other delicious treats

I miss the chairs out on the grass area to just sip a cocktail. They are all gone & there is only a dog house in that area now. The patio is all covered now. The tables in semi sun with the awning is gone too (husband likes this, but I'm a sun person) . The fried green tomatoes were delicious!! My husband didn't like the pimento cheese on them because they are soggy by the time you get to the bottom, but the rest of us loved them. The brisket Philly was good (& greasy if that isn't your thing). The fish tales & fries are always a favorite! They give a large portion of fish & they are always so fresh & tender. We found ourselves in Gainesville, Ga and saw they turned the old Chick-Fil-A/Sonic into a Mexican restaurant. Oh cool, we thought. We'll have to try it. Full disclosure we did order food to go, but I took that into account when for this review. When you go in, think dollar store Chipotle. We ordered two burritos, two tacos, and a bowl. The burritos were carne asada. Beans, rice, all that jazz. They were fine, but nothing to really make them stand out. Salsa was mid. Beans, mid. Rice, mid. Etc. Just now wow factor. Moving on to the tacos, the tortillas were good and fresh. Meat was plentiful and with enough lime and salsa, overall a good experience. Then we get to the bowl. I ordered birria bowl. Everything looked the part except I didn't see the sauce in the meat container when they were making the bowl. That should have been my first clue. When I got home to eat, the meat was dry and needed salt. When have you even had Mexican food that needed salt!?!?!! The meat had a lot of fatty pieces as well, which I didn't necessarily mind, but I know is a turn off for a lot of people. The bowl just didn't taste like much of anything. All told, the order was around $40. Just not worth it. There are too many other Mexican places within 10 minutes that have better food. Place was clean. Service was ok, just could have saved money at Taco Bell.
