I think I remember reading a reviewer that stated that we often judge a veterinarian hospital by…read morethe outcome of our situation. This seems like what most people would use to judge most experiences, but I think that to judge based on this alone is to hold the Vets to a God like standard. Our poor pets cannot communicate or explain what ails them. The vet has to rely on their training, schooling, and experience to uncover the puzzle. We have been taking our pets here for several years. The reason I made my first appointment here was to obtain a second opinion on another vets diagnosis that my beloved pal Aimee had congestive heart failure and put her on a string of meds. This all started over a cough. She said the cough would subside once the meds took effect. For a few months I road this out with no improvement with her cough. Frustrated and worried I made an appointment to get a second opinion. Upon doing so the first vet contacted me via mailed letter, to tell me (I am paraphrasing) I am happy you are looking for another opinion on Aimee's condition, as we want the best for her. However you are no longer welcomed to bring your dogs here. We feel you are not a good match for us. After our visit with East Suburban they did a full exam on my Aimee and disclosed a lot of issues she was dealing with (some I knew about some I didn't) but none could conclude she had heart disease. My little girl was a sickly dog. We had many visits with the staff here for her regular check ups and for various problems throughout the years up the last time we brought her here and left only with a broken heart. The doctors and staff were very accommodating and expressed great sympathy. She was so much more than my pet. Within a week or so we received a sympathy card in the mail from the staff here. It was so touching to see their condolences. We continue to bring all our pets here. Now, due to COVID, they are not accepting any new patients and you have to sit in your car while your pet is being seen. However, I am fine with that, as it seems like the appointment durations have drastically decreased since doing this. This would be my main complaint if I had to give one. We have had visits that I waited over an hour (and on one occasion 2) past the appointment time to be seen. This can be frustrating, but at least I feel my pets are in caring and loving hands with this outfit.

I want to say 'thank you' on behalf of my better half. My better half had to make the very difficult decision for his best pal of fifteen years. Knowing what the impending endgame was going to be he did his research. His best pal had been with him through so many different changes that he wanted to make sure that he was comfortable in a familiar place. That's where Aspen and Lap of Love come in. Knowing that the rainbow bridge is approaching for a beloved pet is hard on not only the pet owner, but the pet itself. Lap of Love makes it easy on you to be able to do this in your own home. Aspen was so kind and comforting throughout the whole procedure. She had the most soft spoken voice that put you at ease at such a difficult time. The service is provided completely in home, they come to you. They allow you to grieve in the privacy of your home and move at a pace you are comfortable with. They offer a paw print mold as a keepsake of your pal and even have where they with clip a lock of fur if you like. All said and done, it's one of the easiest, hard moments of your life. If that makes sense.

Their philosophy centers around the human-animal bond and the need for that bond to be as undisturbed as possible during the most difficult time of a pet's life. Lap of Love has some of the most compassionate and empathetic vets working with them. They offer veternanian, hospice, and end of life services for your senior citizens. All appointments take place in the patient's home. Dr. Aspen Perretta, DVM, services Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas (Allegheny County and parts of Westmoreland, Indiana, Armstrong, Butler, Beaver, Washington, and Fayette Counties). After researching many alternatives, evaluating and reevaluating our pup's quality of life, tossing and turning, and talking it over my family elected to do the in-house end of life service. The stress of moving our elderly dog and his anxiety at the vet would be too much for any of us to bear. We didn't want him to suffer and wanted him to be surrounded by family in his home. As Dr. Aspen informed us he went peacefully in his sleep. Dr. Aspen really is an angel and a spirit of calm. This is the absolute hardest and gut-wrenching experience any pet owner can go through and she really used her gentle nature to soothe everyone in the house. It was obviously a tear-filled event, but her professionalism and compassion never faltered. This must be an extremely hard job, but she does it with grace. We elected to bury our precious pup in our yard and she volunteered her gurney. Dr. Aspen is so thoughtful and loving with your family you will not regret hiring her. Whether it be for vet, hospice, or end of life services your fur baby will be in good hands. These words are all I can offer to express my gratitude to her and I still feel like it's not enough; she's as perfect as a human can be. Thank you for the paw print and lock of fur!

Being a rescue dog you can't be absolutely sure what happened to her, except we know she was not treated well. Being armed with this we told the groomers that she may get irritated. Well she did, and they were not super helpful in coming up with a solution. I recommended using a muzzle and they refused. Seemed to me that that's not a very good practice and should be used for both the dog and the groomers safety if a dog is upset. What that left us was a half groomed dog. I called Walkers to find out how they handle dogs who aren't super excited about spa days and was told they handle a lot of irritable dogs and rescue animals. I asked about the muzzle and they said they do use them which relieved me as the other groomers kept saying she was trying to bite the clippers. They charge roughly $65.00 but that is for the works, bath, cut, teeth, nails, ECT. They do require a $30 deposit when booking simply because they have had their share of no shows. Bella has now been to their groomers a few times. She is still difficult to groom and they have asked us to have her vet prescribe something to calm her down. Even after giving her, what in essence was Xanax, she was still irritable per the groomer on her last visit, but she sure was happy when it was over! I am overall satisfied with our visits. They are able to completely trim here and make her look more professional...
