I've read past reviews saying there were awfully long lines for the bathroom, but there were so many portable bathrooms this year. I saw people waiting around but never a "long" line. The porta potties weren't that bad. They aren't the cleanest things with drunk people peeing all over them, but they weren't bad. I do wish that were more options for non-drinker DDs like me. I enjoyed the food. How about making food free for the red banded non-drinkers? Hmmm. Great event on a really nice day. Aaaand in my boyfriend's eyes it was "THE BEST DAY EVER" haha.

I have not been to a theatre in years. In YEARS! The last time I went to a movie, Bloomington had…read moreAMC theatres on each side of town, and Bedford had 2 small multiplexes. I preferred the one that closed, but this place surprised me. Before going, I was told they have reclining seats. I thought this meant standard movie theatre seats that had a bit of a sliding action so you reclined a little bit. Nope. These are full on padded reclining seats that get you at about a 30-45 degree angle. There is plenty of room between your feet and the seat in front of you, so if someone has to use the bathroom or get up, it's not really an issue. There are cup holders, of course, and because it's now made for comfort, a screen does not hold as many people as it used to. It's somewhat drab when you first walk in. On a slow night they handle tickets at the concession counter. With business not being what it used to be, what were shelves that held theatre candy at either end of the concession stand are now just used for storage. It's a shame no one could be bothered to dress it up a bit. It's just a cozy little place with a few screens. The experience itself was great. The sound was blasting, the screen was big, and the chair was comfy. The popcorn was pretty salty, but hey. It's theater popcorn. This has to be the preferred place for any of us where I live. I fully endorse it. Don't expect anything fancy. It's a small theatre in a small town, and the company clearly expects to stick around for a while if they've invested in the seating. GO! GO! GO!

At each tent they sell ethnic food from the respective country. This year the featured country was India. I especially love this event because you get to try a bit of different foods from different countries. This year I tried out the Greece booth and had a lamb gyro. It was excellent. There is also a Biergarten serving beers/wines from the different countries. In the back of the expo there were tents set up with merchandise for purchase. I hope in the years to come they continue expanding and more countries are represented. You can definitely get a taste of a few ethnicities. About 35 food vendors are on site from all sorts of different countries, ethnicity, etc. serving anywhere from 3 - 4 items to a dozen items of amazingly terrific food. There's something for everyone (including a tent dedicated to nothing but desserts. It's something to behold). Each year a different country / ethnicity will host the event. In 2019 India will host and will have featured entertainers (as well as the 1st booth you come to as you head south from downtown Columbus). Speaking of entertainment, it's non-stop on 3 different stages including one inside the biergarten. Many of the booths are sponsored by non-profits who summon volunteers to help with the effort. Always great to see money going to good causes. Additionally, there's southern Indiana's coolest parade at 11 am on Sat. as well as about a dozen non-food vendors. They top it off with fireworks Saturday evening. Just loads of fun. This is a family owned park where artists work to build sculptures of anything that their imagination can create, all out of metal. The shop where they do their work is on the grounds, and visitors can walk the trails and witness the work being done live. And let's face it, sculpting art out of metal is awesome!!

There is decent gravel parking, and also a little donation box to drop a few bucks to show them you appreciate what they are doing. It's free, so why not say thank you with funding? There is a lot of abstract art, and it's all beautiful. If you do a full walk through, you will surely find pieces that speak to you. I don't know what it's called, but there is one that is either really called Sun Goddess, or I just call it that. It's beautiful, and has been there on both of my visits, which were about 10 years apart. The sculptures are generally metal, with some being metal and stone, and some worked into trees or other bits of nature. Some have clearly repurposed old pieces of metal, which is nice to see. It does seem to have had a few pieces move or change over a long period of time, which could be for any number of reasons. I think it's the sort of place that would offer you something different if you visited during different seasons. It's worth the trip!

I was in the stadium during a graduation ceremony (not mine - it was bad weather and we had to have it elsewhere). But, I never went to a football game. So, this year, we decided to correct that. My wife and I went to see the Northwestern / IU game on and took our two kids with us. It was cold in November, but we dressed appropriately. I stewed over which seats to reserve and when we got there, I realized we had great seats but also, there really is not a bad seat in the house. It was a great time (helped that IU won!). The stadium has a great college atmosphere to it, it is easy getting in and out (we parked at the stadium - easy peasy). We had some football game food that was not gourmet, but better than average for a football game. We just sat on the bench. I saw other people come in with seat pads or seat chairs. I read how someone was not allowed to do so - but I saw others doing it so I don't know what the deal was there. I also had no issues getting the seats that were sold to us. We had a great time and I look forward to going back. My suggestion is go make a day of it and experience some IU with a game if you are going.
