I love this store so much! I came here in May and loved it instantly! I bought a Polo Ralph Lauren jean jacket for $10! Helena, the store owner, is awesome! She isn't overbearing and is super helpful! I just stopped in today to look for some jeans. I end up buying 6 pairs! On the tags it said that the jeans were $15-20 dollars each but she gave them to me for $5-10 instead! I bought two accessories as well and she gave them to me for free! This is quickly becoming one of the staples I MUST visit while vacationing in OCNJ. Helena's is right at the top of my list along with Johnson's Popcorn, Kohr Brothers and Mack & Manco's Pizza. Want a $800 mink coat: check, looking for a $4.00 "going out" tank top: check, craving a new clutch purse: check. Helena's shop has it all: belts, hats, jewelry, sun glasses even men's and children's clothing. The racks, shelves, and drawers are busting at the seams with items that suit every price point. I feel like I am walking into a big dress up closet whenever I stop in......you can find everything from the sublime (simple neutral colored cardigans) to the ridiculous (pink feather boa hats) all in one trip! You can't miss Helena when you walk in....she has always been helpful without being overbearing and she has this charmingly unconventional personality that I find welcoming and down to earth. I had a horrible experience at this store! Not family friendly or kid friendly. The owner actually followed me, my husband and two kids around the store and asked if we wanted to go to the surf shop next door. My husband and I vintage clothes shop where ever we travel and I have never been treated so poorly. After she had made several rude comments about my kids, who were behaving very well, I asked her if she would like us to leave. She rolled her eyes and told the customer standing at the counter "that she could not wait until Labor Day was over". I guess she doesn't like tourists, children or paying customers? Wow! What a fantastic store! You walk into the store and you can spend an hour just in the front entry. There are so many wonderful things tucked in every corner and inch of the shop. When my mother-in-law and I walked in around 1:30, Helena told us she was open till 5:00. We never thought we would spend the whole afternoon there. We tried on hat after hat, looked through racks of clothes and shoes and sifted through the endless supply of handbags. We had a wonderful shopping experience at the store and both walked away with numerous amazing pieces. Helena and Denise were amazing and so helpful and fun. We had a horrible experience at this shop. The shop owner followed my daughters and I around and suggested we "go to a children's shop down the street" because her items were "too expensive for kids to be around." My daughters are 9 years old and were doing nothing more than walking by my side as I browsed. As for being "expensive"-this is a shop filled with low end resale clothes (think, used old navy, target etc) that are selling for $5-10. Certainly not high end clothes kids shouldn't be in the presence of. We are residents of OC and I have always heard about the "nasty" woman who owns this shop and, boy, do I get it now. Avoid this shop! Plenty of other lovely, kind people in OC to do business with. The cheap clothes in this store aren't worth the hassle of dealing with such a shrew. read more

I have never been so appalled .... I don't even know where to begin. This owner has no social skills or customer service skills what-so-ever. I was here on 2 occasions. The first time, Helena was giving customers discounts left and right. A customer approached her and asked her to reduce the price of an item. She screamed, "Are you crazy? This item is 2 pieces." The customer was humiliated and apologized. She said, "It was just that I saw you giving everyone else a discount." I bought several items and they were discounted. My next visit I had my two children with me. I am a teacher they are very well behaved. My daughter touched a sequence top. Helena asked her not to touch it. My daughter opened the dressing room. The owners husband told her, "No don't do that." I told the kids to be very careful and please make sure you are careful. After trying on several items, the owner's husband said he was so impressed with how well-behaved my children were. I said, "Thank you." I went to check-out with several items I was on the fence about. I knew Helena may discount them so I brought them up. The first item she told me the price and I politely said that I would pass on it. The next item I passed on also. She gave me an evil stare. I ended up buying one out of seven items. She flippantly asked, "Which ONE are you purchasing?" Then she yelled at my daughter who gingerly touched a pair of sunglasses on the counter. This time I had it. "Did she touch them in a harmful manner," I inquired. She said, "Children break things and then the parents don't want to pay for them." "You just seem a little short tempered", "I am short tempered", she huffed. I told her that I did not care for a bag and I would not be back in her store. "Good", she calls out to me. If you are that upset about children touching items, don't have the merchadise where a child can touch it. read more

I love the boutique. We were down in Ocean City for a few days and the first place I do is ask the desk for a list of consignment shops. I immediately drove over and $250.00 later I was on my way. Helena is a wonderful individual as well as her hubby. I love them as well as all their unique clothing and accessories. I bought lepord print boots, shoes, mink stole along with fabulous accessories. I can't wait to return in the fall if were lucky. If not, next year for sure,.
