Dr Ward is extremely loving and caring toward EVERY animal (and human)that walks thru these doors. The pets that come here are in a serious health crisis of one kind or another. We came because my service dog has anal gland cancer. There's nothing they can do for the cancer itself, but the tumors are causing his calcium to increase, thus he's having urinary problems. The kindness of Dr Ward and the staff is outstanding. The humans are desperate for their pets and these people are exactly the love we need to receive for the reason we are here. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. They treat my baby as I would treat him if I had to give him chemo, with gentle hands and loving words. The first visit was easy. Walk in, fill out one page of quick paperwork, weigh on the scale in the waiting room and within 15 minutes, you're in the back with the Dr. She even comes out to the waiting room and talks with people waiting in between her appointments, as she waits for a test or scan for someone in the back rooms. Even on every other visit, they've made it easy and as relaxing as they could. If you come in stressed, they calm you; "It's ok. Relax. No worries. We've got you. You're in good hands now." And I've always felt the Truth to those words. My second dog got very clingy lately and I had to start bringing him with us. "Who's this little guy?" ("It's ok. Relax. No worries. We've got you.") My sick one got bad diarrhea from his chemo. ("It's ok. Relax. No worries. We've got you.) They switched his medicine from a pill to an IV and it took care of it. The tech tells me what's happening, and Dr Ward comes out and talks to me and makes sure I know what's happening and whether I have questions. So I get told twice in two different ways, because it's said that difficult information needs to be repeated in different ways (preferably 3 different ways, but 2 is better than just 1), so you're brain can grasp it. When I was diagnosed, I had to be told twice... For almost everything at first. Your brain is a survivalist. It does not like bad news that is life threatening. Anyway, the staff understands this and acts accordingly. Remember, though, as you act, so shall you be treated. IDK if there are any reviews that say the staff are horrible and unkind, but if there are, keep that in mind. This vet is amazing. I love her.

We have been seeing Dr. Ward for about a year and a half now. We were referred to her by our vet after tests showed our cat had mast cell cancer. We had been to our vet and another local vet who thought that our cat had allergies or other issues. Once tests confirmed cancer, we went to Dr. Ward for treatment. Almost immediately we saw improvements in our cat's physical appearance. It's also obvious that she feels so much better too. I love the staff at this office. The techs that I have had experiences with are very knowledgeable. They have spent extensive time with me and will answer all of my questions. One of the most impressive memories I have is of my first visit. Despite the fact that Dr. Ward was not feeling well that day and needed to go home, she took extra time with me to explain my pet's medical condition- it is more common. In dogs than cats. So, she found some articles for me to read and provided some explanations for me so I could better understand what we would be undergoing. I was very impressed with her extra effort, especially since she wasn't feeling well that day. We live more than 1.5 hours from Dr. Ward's office, but I continue to go back and seek her services because we have been so pleased with the outcome. Her fees are reasonable too- if we ever have extra medication, they take that into account and adjust the amount we are given so we don't have to pay for unneeded medications. The staff listen to and document all of our concerns. We also get a copy of every update in our pets medical file- that is also sent to our primary vet's office, so they are also aware of all treatment issues. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ward's office. It has been life changing for our pet.

Thank you so much for your help with Big Guy - he is a totally different cat today! I'm going to be going over every day and will get back with you on Monday.

Taking time to read the other reviews. I am enjoying the "cold and rude" comments. Truthful. That was my experience many years ago.

The cat lived a year prior to going to Dr Ward with lymphoma but was getting worse so I took him in to her.

Although that's not that many reviews, we chose to give it a try because of the star average, the close proximity to our home and because out of the 10 different veterinary offices nearby, this was the only one what offered a pet plan. Upon arriving, the building looked kind of dated and it's easy to pass by, so be careful you don't miss it. When we walked in, all their merchandise and pet supplies looked well organized. There was even a white board that welcomed my miniature poodle, Rupert, for his first visit, which was very thoughtful of the staff. One of the ladies behind the counter asked how she could help us, but her disposition was very unwelcoming and unmannerly. We later found out from the doctor that her name was Brenda. As we were filling out the forms Brenda gave us, our dog was getting pretty nervous (which he does when he notices a shift in our regular routine or feels like he's in danger). He was whining and shaking a lot. Then I heard Brenda tell the other receptionist with annoyance, "Can you please get them into a room, so I can get my work done!" That was rude! If sounds that animals make bother you so much, you should not be working at a veterinarian office. One bad apple has the potential to sour the whole experience, so I have a few suggestions for this. Brenda should try smiling, adding some cheerfulness to her tone of voice, and being friendly with the animals and their owners. She has to 'act' like her job is enjoyable even if it isn't. Or she should work in the back, where there's no interaction with the customers. Once we were in a room, we let our dog down onto the floor, and I immediately noticed there was pee on the floor from a previous dog under the examination table. I also noticed the calendar still on December 2022, but that's besides the point. Autumn entered the room and greeted us with a smile. She was very jovial and bubbly! She started off with some friendly small talk, which made us feel like she was showing personal interest in us and our pup, and we even shared a few laughs. Then she asked some thorough questions about Rupert's health history. She really tried to help Rupert feel comfortable. She took him to the back for some blood work and returned with Dr. Kurtz. Dr. Kurtz was also very kind and sweet. She was gentle and patient with Rupert, which is important to us and she was very knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions and we definitely trust her with Rupert's care. As we were checking out, we paid for our visit with Stephanie. Stephanie was also very pleasant and had a friendly demeanor. She was concerned about how our visit went and she explained in detail what we would be charged for. We ended up signing up for the pet plan and had all of Rupert's semi annual tests done, along with some take home medication. Everything came up to about $405. Our only qualm was that at no time over the phone or in person were we told about a $99 plan startup fee for the Silver Plan. But that's fine. Overall, it was a good experience. And obviously we will be back since we live here now.
