I am a boarder with 5 horses and rider at heavens gate farm and would like to say that the other two reviews are totaly inaccurate in almost every witch way. Bev Flynn knows how to run a business with over 35 years of experience. She trains me and all riders with the utmost respect. My family has bought 5 horses through here and she has worked with us on many occasions. She is the total opposite of drama. She is the most down to earth people that I know. I have nothing but good things to say about this barn. I love this barn with my heart! CHANGE MY MIND! Besides that. My Review: Heaven's Gate Farm is a Training and Boarding Stable. They have Trainers for all ages and skill levels. The Training I witness and experience is well structured and I do not witness students being yelled at or Horses being unsuitable for the Lessons. Although the owner does raise her voice occasionally - please keep in mind this is a equestrian facility you are dealing with live stock and a well meant: "oh, go on an be a safety hazard to other riders if you want, dear" is usually not the best choice of wording. Started boarding here in August after separating my barn family of 11 years (the barn unfortunately was sold), the owner (Bev) welcomed me and my horse (Vinny) with open arms. She made sure to communicate with me about my horse's needs and how he is doing. Not too long ago my horse colic-ed. Immediately, Bev called and asked if she could give him some banamine and call the vet for me. She made sure that when I left that he would continue to give him wet food, until he was better, which she and Mike did. My horse immediately felt better the next day and was running around. My horse seems like he really enjoys it here and so do I. So many people compliment me about it how amazing my horse looks. Thank you Bev and Mike for taking such good care of my Vinny. Facilities matter, and Heaven's Gate Farm has everything you could ask for to enhance your time with your horse: roomy box stalls, individual and group turn-out, indoor and outdoor arenas, wash stall and grooming stalls, and a heated tack room and lounge. Training / lessons are far above the norm, building confidence in rider (and horse) through a logical progression from the fundamentals in horsemanship and riding skills. Whether you're learning for the first time or relearning after a long break, you'll progress safely and steadily here. Most of all, the care for the horses is amazing. Mike and Bev care about every horse as though it were their own. The proof is evident as you walk down the center aisle of the barn - happy, healthy horses. I don't understand how it's possible that this farm manages to get ALL the negative reviews removed from places when all people are doing is speaking the truth. The owner Bev is a nasty woman who yells at the children and takes advantage of people. She is a liar and a scam. The children are used as instructors and paid little to nothing, mind you none of them are certified as her website states. If you check her google reviews and here, you'll see the positive comments are ALL family or long time friends who are obviously delusional. She NEVER takes accountability for her actions and god forbid you call her on it. There's ALWAYS an excuse and a reason why she's not in the wrong and blames everyone else. I want to second Terry's review. When you are riding at HGF you become part of a family. I took my first riding lesson - in a, to me, foreign country and instructed in a foreign language - after having moved to the area at HGF. And they made me feel at home right from the start, like I was a friend not a stranger. Bev is an awesome instructor. I really appreciate her teaching and enjoy coming in for a lesson and meet the wonderful people each and every time. HGF is a great Facility for Kids who will learn not only to ride but handle horses and have responsibility for living souls as well as having the option to advance to competition level and for adults of all ages who want to take their pleasure riding to a more accomplished level or even participate in Shows again. read more

I would not recommend for boarding or lessons. Moving to a new barn made us see what a "full-care" facility is supposed to look like. Group lessons were non-productive with 10 riders in the ring and getting to jump 2 courses (a lot of standing and waiting). The owner/instructor was strict on safety but her instructional delivery was undesirable and demeaning--truly great at crushing a rider's confidence. Kids are pushed to do the monthly home shows which only generates revenue for the farm, no learning. Not many lesson or "lease" horses available for advanced riders. High turn around rate on lesson clients and boarders speaks volumes. I'd recommend not paying for lessons or services in advance, because you will not get a refund when extenuating circumstances arise. read more

Love this place! I worked here for years before going to college, while still returning for horse shows! Bought my horse here when he was 4 and he is 12 now. They have show every month that are very affordable with final quality jumps, GREAT shows to get your horse away from home and see how they will handle big shows. I found Heaven's Gate Farm when looking for a summer camp for my oldest daughter. That was 8 years ago. We now have two children that ride and own two horses. The trainer, Bev Flynn, and her husband Mike teach kids the responsibility of horse ownership while encouraging them to set goals and work towards achieving them. We started out as customers, but now feel like family. I cannot recommend this barn highly enough. read more

I have been at Heaven's Gate Farm for over 10 years. Both of my horses are happy and healthy. The owners care for them as if they were their own. I have taken lessons there for 10 years, as well, and the trainers know how to work with all skill levels. They focus on the safety of horse and rider. She rides in lessons and is on the IEA team, and I have seen such wonderful progress in her skill as a rider over the last couple of years! This farm has terrible care and is only in the business for money. My horse developed ulcers from this farm and was skin and bones because of poor care. Owner lied about soaking my horses grain and giving him his supplements. He only got 2 flakes of hay a day. The fields are in terrible condition. The barn also needs a lot of maintenance. Definitely do not recommend this barn!!! read more

Beautiful facility and great atmosphere. The rings and jumps are always beautifully decorated not only for shows but for lessons and borders to use as well. Lessons include tacking, untacking, grooming and cleaning the tack and caring for the horse after your ride. This is a great way to teach kids responsibility! read more

Great lessons for all levels. Lessons are separated by skill level and riders are provided with an appropriate horse for their level. This facility is great for beginners as well as advanced riders. Highly recommend taking a lesson or trying out the summer camp. read more
