I have had the unfortunate experience with a non-ambulatory transport at the last minute!! I was dispatched a "curb to curb driver" only. Due to insurance stipulations I was told the driver was unable to assist me in any way!! I needed ASSISTANCE for my 6'3" 220lb. father exiting down 4 stairs,through muddy terrain, non wheelchair accessible & during a rainstorm alone while the driver simply watched me!!!! I was frantic for fear my father might fall with only myself helping him,as he is recovering from a broken hip. I am writing this to prevent even one person from experiencing what I did. I feel morally it is my duty to convey this PERTINENT information to others!! Please, learn from my experience & call the RIGHT PEOPLE for the RIGHT JOB!! The worst drivers ever seen in a transport service! I was…read moredropping off my mother in law to Devita for her dialysis treatments and I pulled her up front of the building to get a wheel chair to wheel her inside in the drop off waiting room.... Before I could even get her through the front door of the building, I heard a long and loud blast of a van's horn. I finished wheeling her inside and told her I'll see her in 4 hours to pick her up. As I came out, I saw my wife eexiting the passenger side of the car as she tried to get into the drivers side to from what I could quickly gather was to move the car. The horn kept blaring for about 10 seconds each time the Good Wheels driver laid on the horn and she kept doing it about 6-10 times total. As I came closer I spoke to the driver and she was yelling and screaming and laying on the horn as I was calmly trying to find out what was happening. She proceeded to volunteer to me to call her boss and told me she could care less. I was taken back by the brutal unprofessionalism of the driver. She exited the van and called her superior and started straight out lying to her manager about the situation. I imagine she had a feeling I would call her boss so she made sure to set the stage with lies in her favor. I know after doing some research that the owner of aware would probably not like their company to be run in this manner if they were to find out and to no avail, their owner didn't even reply back to my phone calls or Facebook direct messaging. Whatever you do, and if you can, choose a different option of transportation for your loved ones, they may be abused by the staff like they abused us. We all know that our disabled loved ones deserve much better.... Below is a photo of the driver's van with identification numbers so the driver isn't a mystery...

I was in a pickle. I tore my Achilles tendon and was in a non-weight bearing cast, so I needed…read moretransportation in my wheelchair to a doctor appointment. I called Duke and he was very helpful on the phone - I hired him right away. He arrived promptly on time. There is construction in front of my condo, so he had to push me quite a distance through rough grass to get to his van - not an easy feat! The van is very clean and has a lift, making it fairly easy to load me up. It is equipped with plenty of tie downs and seatbelts. I felt safe and secure. After my appointment, I texted Duke and he was there to pick me up within ten minutes. He delivered me home, safe and sound. I was very impressed with this young man. He was neatly dressed, very polite and professional and he exuded an air of quiet confidence. I wholeheartedly recommend Duke and his company. I'll definitely call him again if the need arises!
