I understand that most people will never be satisfied with the care that strangers give your loved…read moreones but I would never recommend Pacifica. We've recently moved my Grandmother and are desperately trying to get her healthy again. My Grandmother did not get needed medication for 3 weeks, it ended up being stopped suddenly which made her anxiety and dementia exasperated. When trying to talk to any staff, NO ONE EVER TAKES RESPONSIBILITY. It's always someone else's fault, that no longer works there. No apologies, no accountability. We were also told that when my Grandmothers LIFE SAVINGS had been exhausted she would be able to continue staying at Pacifica on Medicaid. Concerned because there had been SO many things that changed or were not true, we made an appointment to discuss this and other issues. We were immediately told NO she couldn't stay and again, It was the old employees fault for telling us that. It was always filthy, they are always short staffed and the urine smell is awful. When we moved my Grandmother out it became even more obvious how poorly she was cared for with the amount of dirt everywhere. They are building MORE houses and I'm wondering how they will be able to handle more residents? If you're lured in with the new construction, be sure you go over every single detail, because you can not take anyone's word. And if you have a loved one move in, be sure to be there every single day, be there for every doctor appointment, make sure you are aware of every medication. Basically, micromanage every little detail because you can not trust them to truly take care of your person.

I am so disappointed in this facility! When my dad and I first moved my mom in everyone was so nice…read moreand now I just realize it was because we were a cash pay family and they found every way to get more money out of us and not tell us why and they're so quick to take your money but as soon as your loved one passes and you have questions of why you're being charged for a month of care after they've passed away no one will call you back. These people have these fancy titles like Kirk the executive director and Vonnie is another director, then Steven apparently regional director down in the Billing office in San Diego. Not even the courtesy of one call back I've been calling these people for weeks. I've been nicely asking them to go over things with me and Kirk was very rude to my dad. He had just lost his wife and all they care about is money this place disgusts me. They're trying to charge us to renovate a room after we left it better than we got it. It was cleaned and the items were removed. These people only care about money. Be careful before you put your loved one here they'll act nice to your face, but as soon as the money stops, they could give a crap about you or your family! So to all you people over there with the fancy titles, you don't deserve them. You don't have the courtesy to call a person back asking for you to explain why you're charging for care and room and board the month after the person has passed away. This is a violation of CMS and Medicare. All you to say is refer to some paperwork, but you can't tell me which paperwork and where it is, you guys are a joke. I've been patient. I've been calling for weeks leaving messages. No one can call me back. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I'd like to thank Heidi, who has been able to help in her capacity and Jennifer the nurse at the location but other than that once the titles get higher, you people are despicable treating an older man who had just lost his wife like he's stupid and shove him out the door with an excuse of go read your paperwork. not acceptable! Watch out for Kirk. He cannot keep up with his lies. He says one thing to somebody, and then says something to somebody else he contradicted himself to me in the same day. We did read the paperwork and this phony language that you said is in there it's not there. I'm asking you to show me where this is why you're keeping over half my dad's money with some phony scheme of you're allowed to charge him for it. I have a bill showing charges for room and board for March and my mom passed away in February...horrible!

My aunt and uncle have been living at Evergreen Fountains for the better part of 7 years and both…read morewe and they have been generally quite pleased. This is a nice facility, well maintained, with many excellent staff and friendly residents. I would easily rate it five stars except for one thing. Evergreen markets itself as a place where people can transition from independent living toward more assistance as needed. Unfortunately, they only offer any type of assistance if you are in the main building, so if you live in other parts of the facility and need temporary or only occasional assistance you can't get that from Evergreen. In addition, Evergreen won't allow you to move from other parts of the facility into the main building unless you immediately sign up for light assisted living. So unless you are lucky enough to have an appropriate apartment become available exactly when you start to need some full time assistance (apartments in the main building are often not available without a substantial wait) you may need to either start paying for assistance before you need it or move to another facility when you do need the help. For many people there is a good chance the transition from independent living to some assistance may not be nearly as easy as Evergreen would have you believe. Not cool.

In fact, some went above and beyond. With that said, an organization is only as efficacious as its leadership. In my opinion, at Creekside the leadership resembles more the management of a self-storage facility where they take no responsibility for an old TV that you stored with them rather than a memory care facility where you entrust the care and safety of your loved one suffering from Dementia. During my mother's time at Creekside, she fell, her wheelchair and motion alarm disappeared and her wedding ring vanished. In each instance, Creekside's default response was, it happens; we're not responsible. Two days before my mother's passing, while discussing another incident, the care staff mentioned that she had stopped eating the previous week yet they apparently felt no need to inform me until several days had elapsed. Obviously, accidents and oversights happen in every organization. The test of an organization's leadership and integrity is whether they accept responsibility or disavow responsibility for instances under their control. In my experience, Creekside is the latter which is unacceptable when entrusted with vulnerable individuals and their property.

Place is an absolute joke to work at. The nursing director and administrator have absolute no care…read morefor its care staff. They have a certain worker there who makes comments wishing some people would die because they don't like them. The administrator is cheap and won't hire any new staff or buy supplies for staff because whatever money that isn't used they get to keep for themselves as a bonus. The owners should really look into this and shame on them if they know what is happening and refuse to do anything about it.
