Horrible, stay away!!!…read more This place is a joke. I called on a Monday morning to see if they are accepting new patients and if so to make an appointment. As t hose of you with chronic pain know, this is not because we're so thrilled to be going to the doctor, it's because we're in a severe amount of pain. Well, the woman who answered the phone was super frazzled and seemed shocked that I would call on a Monday morning to make an appointment. She literally said to me (with attitude) "well, it's Monday morning and we're very busy! I'll have to take your information and have Jennifer call you back." I figured I'd give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she doesn't normally work there, or answer the phone, or was just having a bad day. I waited all day Monday and heard nothing. So Tuesday morning I call back to follow up (because I'm in an excruciating amount of pain!) and this time the woman who answers the phone tells me in an annoyed tone "the nurse isn't in yet, she'll call you when she gets in." I ask when that will be and she tells me 11am. I ask if that's when I should expect a call and she just repeats the first thing she said to me again in a very snobby/annoyed tone. At this point I realize this is not the place I want to go so I tell her my name and that she can take me off the list, I've decided against making an appointment there. She says ok and hangs up. I'm still so shocked at how these women have treated potential patients that I call back as I'd like to speak to someone in charge and this time she doesn't even say anything, just picks up the phone and immediately hangs it up again! I try calling again, thinking maybe it was a mistake and this time I'm sent to the answering service. Wow, if this is how you or your staff treat people you have absolutely no business being a doctor.

Dr. Robb is of a generation of the likes we won't see again, for better or worse. He is…read moreprofessional, articulate, and matter of fact. His staff; however, are of the new generation who are impatient, entitled, incompetent, and rude. Unfortunately, his prices have certainly kept up with the times and they are exorbitant with a service level from the staff one would expect from a third-world country. The high prices of his consultation and the incredibly low quality of service from the staff equate to an intolerable level of service which is unacceptable. If you seek medical treatment for pain this is not the facility one would expect for the high cost of services. You deserve more for your hard earned money. In fact, the staff made a valiant attempt at convincing me the level of service I was provided, for the cost, was appropriate, even considering the location on Ventura blvd which is known to be a low-rent area of the valley. Compared to my previous Dr. in Beverly Hills, where one would expect 5x the rent, the cost was lower for services rendered, and the level of service was far superior to Dr. Robb. These are real-world reviews and you should take these into account when deciding who you should go to for care. This may very well be an aging Dr's attempt to milk federal funding to bankroll a retirement plan. Don't fall for it, you deserve more - move on! Don't even consider this location.

I can't recommend Dr. Nguyen more! I first came here after my insurance changed it's payment rules…read moreand I got dumped by several of my doctors, including my pain management one. At first I was very upset, as you could imagine, but it turned out to be a good thing in leading me to University Spine & Pain and Dr. Nguyen. He is just so nice and really cares about his patients. And if you have any chronic health issues and have to deal with a lot of doctors, like I do, then you know that Doctors like this are few and far between. The office is small but easy to get to. When I saw it was in Hermosa beach I thought the drive would be a nightmare, but there is no traffic, it is easy peasy. The staff, like the Doctor, are really nice and go out of their way to work with you on scheduling. Rosa especially is a sweetheart. Dr. Nguyen is efficient and wants to work with you on what works to help get you or keep you out of pain. He takes what you think into consideration instead of just dismissing it. And like I said he is just beyond nice, his bedside manner is a 10/10. I found it hard to believe a doctor this great had so little reviews, but then I noticed a ton of hidden reviews at the bottom of the page. Yelp has a faulty algorithm that hides valid reviews quite often, If you google it, you will find a ton of stuff about it. So I usually ignore the "hidden" part and take all reviews and my own intuition into account when reading them, I think we all can tell a real review from a fake one, am I right? The rest of the reviews seemed to agree with my own experience at this office. In conclusion. This doc is amazing, I definitely recommend. He doesn't treat you like your are a cog in a money machine, and is understanding if you make a mistake or two. You would not regret coming to this office.

I appreciated the second opinion, and I look forward to my future appointment. Back pain is no joke.
