Dr Hynes is simply the best. I am being honest when I say that no one cares for my parents as much as he does.

Easy access, caring providers and staff. Will take time with you and treat you like a person and not a number.

They withheld information regarding my illness due to lack of a cardio thoracic surgeon which I needed and they did not have. On further questioning by myself and family I was told one would be coming in a few days. One very honest person who had obviously been there for years told my family if I was his mother or wife he would get me to Colorado Springs, where they have experienced cardio thoracic surgeons who have done these procedures many times. I felt like a guinea pig as unneccessary procedures were done as it is supposedly is a ?teaching hospital. I also developed C diff during my stay which I found out later is rampant there. I transferred that night to Penrose St. Francis, a superior hospital by far in Colorado Springs. I had surgery there and I felt like the doctor there saved my life. I was confident I would have died at Parkview. I gave it a one because of a few good doctors and nurses, otherwise I would have given it a zero! Do not go there if you can go somewhere else.

My 14yo son had to have emergency surgery for a broken leg from a bike accident at scout summer…read morecamp, and they brought him here. I was not at camp, but in Houston, so I flew in the next morning and have spent the last two and a half days at the hospital with him as he's recovered. The care he's received - the attention to everything we both needed - has been amazing. Every single doctor, nurse, therapist, social worker, admin person, etc. has been super supportive and helpful and so incredibly caring. I couldn't have asked for better care for my boy given the circumstances. And now, to top it off, the fact that we are driving home to Houston (14 hours away) had the surgeon so concerned about his circulation that they provided us with a portable SED for the car ride, at no cost to us, because insurance wouldn't cover, and it was going to be a pricey out of pocket expense. That's what I would call going above and beyond. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the food that's been sent up for my boy hasn't been all that great, so he's been struggling to eat enough. It's not awful, but could be improved. Otherwise, I thank everyone at this hospital for making us feel so comfortable and taken care of so far from home!

From someone who is a patient here, and also a previous employee, I cannot recommend this place at…read moreall. From doctors being rude to the lack of communication, the care is not where it should be. Honestly, most providers are very dismissive and do not seem concerned at all. They are just focused on the titles they have instead of the work they are actually supposed to be doing. The company is extremely short staffed and lacks so much communication. They also do not support or appreciate employees. They do not look at how good the work is, or how much effort is being put in. They are just worried about the money and expecting you to be able to work when and how they want no matter what situations you are dealing with outside of work. For example, not allowing your employee to go pick up their kids from school because they want you to take lunch at a certain time instead of later so that you can make sure your child gets home safely. In a recent situation, I know of someone being told that they can't take lunch later in the day, and that their daughter that isn't even in high school can just walk home or take an uber. In another situation that has occurred multiple times, having to use your lunch time to go to an appointment and not actually getting to have lunch because they don't want you to use any of the PTO that they give you every pay period. Almost every day, doctors don't do their jobs correctly. For example, not putting in orders for blood work or referrals for outside care. Providers also do not answer messages or phone calls, which results in having to come back another day hoping that your orders and information is put in so that you are able to get the care you need done. From my standpoint as a previous employee, I have seen multiple patients on multiple occasions coming back to get work done and the orders were not put in after days, and even weeks. I've even seen and been in contact with multiple patients who have been in full on tears because of the experiences they had with their providers. Also, the favoritism in the clinic is insane. If you aren't a favorite, they don't care about you at all and they will treat you terribly. You aren't made aware of anything going on, and you are even left alone during busy times because of staffing issues. But what's funny about this is, if you are a favorite then the boss will help instead of leaving you alone. If you are not favorited, then you are basically kicked under a rug and outside of a box with everyone you are working with. Also, when you aren't a favorite and you are short staffed, or even in my case and coworkers' cases a few times, you are left completely alone to care for patients with no support even during busy times. Even when there is more than one person working, you allow your favorite employee to sit and play on their phone, and in one case even sleep while at work. You even allow them to leave while on the clock, supposed to be working, to go get food? Or step outside to be on long phone calls? But you can't allow another employee to take their LUNCH TIME later in the day to go pick up their child. And as a supervisor, you get away with things that you'd instantly fire your least favorite employee for. Even if you are a favorite employee, you get away with so much that should not be acceptable. Back to a patient point of view, the wait times are ridiculous. I understand that providers fall behind sometimes and there are other situations that may be happening. However, you're expected to show up at least 20 minutes early and then you are sitting in the lobby waiting for over an hour, just for an appointment that takes maybe 10 minutes. Then the providers dismiss your concerns and feelings and doesn't bother to look into other options or solutions to your issues. As a patient, you want a provider that will listen to you and your concerns, is not rude, and is actually willing to listen and help you. Most providers just throw more pills at you instead of looking for other solutions. With all of this being said, I cannot stress enough that you go somewhere else for your healthcare. With all of the communication and staffing issues, as well as the attitudes of employees, you are better of going somewhere else if you actually want care and solutions. All of the things I mentioned don't even make a dent in all of the issues that go on within the clinic. When dealing with something as serious as your health, this is not the type of place you would want to go.

I called and asked for a specific doctor, but they are on maternity leave or something, so they put me with another doctor (hopefully, she was covered because after seeing these other reviews, I'm afraid now I'll have to pay out of pocket for this). I scheduled a woman's annual exam and when the nurse practitioner started my intake, she told me I don't need one and asked if I wanted any STD tests. I told her no, I want a pap smear because I have a condition that requires an annual pap smear. So then she filled out whatever information, including the fact that I had a hysterectomy a few years ago and left the room. She came back and asked me if I have periods with a hysterectomy. I was shocked and honestly a little nervous now that a nurse would not know that a hysterectomy is the removal of your uterus, which means you do not have periods anymore. Anyway, I saw a doctor and liked her, and expressed my concerns. I felt heard and was happy with the visit. I got a call yesterday to schedule a pre-natal appointment. I told the person on the phone I don't need one because I no longer have a uterus so I am not pregnant. She told me they must have put the wrong information on my chart. OH MY GOD, so who needs the pre-natal appointment and where is my pap smear information??? I am freaking out.
