Julie hit the sweet spot in our first session where she worked out several achy spots in my shoulders without exceeding my pain threshold. Looking forward to another session.

All they had time for was a 30 min massage but I would take anything I could get for some relief. My appointment was with Kaylee and she was truly wonderful. I had been for a similar massage the week before at home in Toronto, which I thought had been pretty good at the time. But comparatively, Kaylee's was far, far better. The room was nice and warm, and she had a pregnancy massage pillow ready for me. Hurrah!! I could lay on my front with my boobs and belly supported properly but not squished. It was glorious. Her touch was just right. Strong but not too strong as too be painful before I had a chance to relax. Her personality was a joy too. The 30 mins flew by and I was sad that i couldn't book another appointment with her when I left. But when I'm back visit my Mum again I will. And you should too. The front desk area of the clinic was in a bit of a mess the day I was there. It wasn't their fault though. They had recently had a car drive through their front window into the waiting area. Yep. That's right. One of those "I stepped on the gas instead of the brake" deals, and CRASH... right through the window. So there were some workers there fixing drywall and such. But I will say that I didn't notice any noise at all when I was in the massage room.

I visited this store yesterday to purchase two puzzles. I want to start by saying that the sales…read moreassociate who helped me retrieve one of the puzzles was friendly, helpful, and provided excellent service. Unfortunately, my experience at the checkout was the complete opposite. The person at the cash register, who I believe may have been the owner, did not acknowledge me when I approached. For approximately 20 seconds, she continued looking down without making eye contact, saying hello, or even recognizing that I was standing there waiting. When she eventually served me, the entire transaction took place without a single greeting, thank you, or any other interaction. After paying, my puzzles were simply left on the counter without a bag. When I politely asked if I could have one, she visibly rolled her eyes before reluctantly placing my purchases into a bag. Customer service can make or break a shopping experience, and unfortunately this one left me feeling unwelcome and like my business was an inconvenience. As someone who purchases a significant number of puzzles and is actively involved in the local puzzle community, I was disappointed because I had hoped to support a local business. Sadly, I won't be returning. There are many businesses that appreciate their customers and provide friendly, respectful service, and those are the ones I will choose to support in the future.

Forget the big box stores, go to this great little independent boutique. Although the space is…read moresmall, it is crammed full of novelties, toys and childrens items. They have a great selection of puzzles, board games, lego, collectable figures, travel games, brain teasers, models, classic toys and more. They also have some great science learning toys like a salt water/magnesium reaction powered model car. Its a science lesson and a toy at the same time! Anyway thats just one example of that type of item that they stock. The mindless toys are entertaining but your kid will get so much more out of a constructive teaching toy. The staff is super nice and helpful and the store is open Sundays which seems to be a rarity in C-Town. Highly recommended.

When I found out I was pregnant it was time to up the amount of furniture I had in the house…read more Suffice to say I only had a bed, which was how I got into this mess in the first place! I thought I knew what I wanted, and that was to NOT go to Leon's or the Brick despite their low-interest (or no interest) financing options. And I really wanted to try going local. At first Poirier Furniture felt a little intimidating. But we overcame our nervousness of entering a "fancier" furniture store (again, we were avoiding The Brick and Leon's so anything other than that was fancy), and started sitting on random chairs, evaluating them based on comfy-ness, fluffiness and how high the backs were. We were approached by an employee who immediately helped us understand that there were different price ranges, and that we were most welcome to try them all out. Delivery was free, he specified, and they could even hold an item at no charge in their storehouse (which is on the lot). Even though I gave away my interest in a particular couch, they were very good at giving us a discount (my spouse requested a pregnant-lady discount, which they did!) and throwing in the pillows that were used to highlight the couch on the floor. Over-all, I found the little store actually had a wide variety of couches that suited our needs. And in the end, even if we wouldn't have found what we were looking for, the friendly service and the advantage of being locally owned really showed itself. I would recommend checking them out to anyone.

(You know, the side where the roads are good ;). C&N is two stories of good taste, high quality linens, soft blankets, big beautiful clocks and the requisite quirky cutesy stuff for country gardens (bunnies and shit like that.) The owners were welcoming but no pressure, happy to see new faces as well as regulars, and are people I can easily imagine trusting to help with a home decor project and enjoying the ride with. A lot of the goods in here were outside my personal price range, but I saw a few signature pieces that wouldn't break the bank and that you know, I just might journey back for.
