Im giving Dr jessie and her team 5 stars! From the first time she met Drake my minidoodle I was very happy that I found someone that cared and was willing to take the time to get him better. He had TPLO ( ACL surgery) back in February. He had complications with infections which resulted in 2nd surgery in May to take out the plates. Then another recurrent infection because a nail was left in his leg. Drake had to get a 3rd surgery that required him to have a hole drilled into his bone. She not only took the time to make a plan for him, but contacted his surgeon and his primary vet. Drake started with healing paws after his 2nd surgery. He was never 100%, and I did not know why. So coincidentally he went lame again and I immediately took him to the vet. My vet (no longer my vet) did xrays and even though was asked to look at his leg told me nothing is wrong and to go back to rehab to get a brace. Dr jessie's team saw him immediately. They took a deeper look and discovered an abcess and that his bone never fused. I tried to go back to my vet and they did not have time to see him. That is what led me to Lead ER to get another surgeon to take care of Drake. Thankfully Dr Marin did the last surgery and with the help of Healing Paws Drake seems like he is on his way to finally walking. I wanted to write this review because I feel that there are so many vets that dont have time to really take care of our furry children. I was skeptical of a rehab center, but now Im hoping that one day Drake can go hiking with us again. Or atleast walk around the block with his Brother Apollo!

I just lost my little girl Pepper who was 18 yrs old she was a miniature schnauzer and the love of my life. I brought her to Healing Paws about 2;years ago for a problem with her knee and she developed other issues. If it weren't for Dr Jessie with her knowledge and the care of her team Pepper would not have been with me as long as she was with such good quality. Not only that they truly helped me through some very emotional times with her. I can't recommend Healing Paws enough if someone has a problem with their pet. I will miss seeing them, they became part of my family. Thank you again for everything Dr Jessie!! I will truly miss you.

Is your fur baby a family member and not just a pet? Then this is will be the perfect facility for you. Dr. Jessie and her entire staff are amazing and go above and beyond to provide quality of life to all the fur babies that are intrusted in their care. I took in my senior 26yr old cat who had lost his ability to walk and I cannot speak enough of how much they cared for him. I was able to see my boy run around our yard after not being able to get up from his bed after just one visit. Although my little fur baby crossed the rainbow bridge, it was because of the excellent care this facility and their staff provided him that he was able to live his best life ever all the way up till the end. They truly are heaven sent and absolutely not there for the profit but for the passion to help their patients.

Unfortunately, my most recent experience was the most disappointing of all. My dog was seen by Dr. Amaya, a doctor I had never met in all my years coming to this location. While checking my dog, he immediately began pointing out supposed issues with my dog's fur and even suggested his face looked "bitten." In six years, no other doctor at VCA has ever mentioned anything like this. This clinic repeatedly contacted me to come in for annual check and shots, so we went -- only for the doctor to immediately recommend a hormone test, claiming there was something wrong with his skin and coat. The sudden shift in tone and the push for additional testing felt untrustworthy and unsettling. After this experience, I no longer feel confident bringing my dog here. I do not trust this clinic with his care, and I cannot recommend VCA Stirling Conner.

Wildlife Rescue of Dade County provides free educational programs to schools and community organizations. We train, equip, and deploy, worldwide as necessary, personnel to assist local groups in animal rescue after disasters." I found out about this organization through a friend. She put together a volunteering event through Benevity on Cinco De Mayo (May 5th). A lot of us showed up to volunteer. Paula and Lloyd, who are the owners, were not expecting so many volunteers, so they were a bit shocked and did not know what to do. However, we were able to get a lot done. After Hurrican Irma, the property got destroyed a bit. Debris was everywhere. We got to help clear the porch area, clean the cages/crates, pressure clean the floor and outdoor cage areas. We also organized some tools and items into several bins. Some of us cut the grass by the porch with scissors so that it'd be easier to maneuver around for now. We really tried our best in making a dent during this volunteering event. We learned that they rescue wildlife animals and release them back to the wild. While taking of of the animals, they do not let them get used to human contact and affection, so that they will survive better in the wild. We got to see baby raccoons, a baby fox, a baby possum, a baby owl, baby birds, chickens, and few other animals. We learned that a lot of bird moms purposely leave their babies on the group for a few weeks so that they can learn to fend for themselves. However, a lot of people mistaken that the parents are purposely neglecting their kids, but they are not. So if you see baby birds on the floor, do not pick them up and do not assume that they are lost or neglected. It's really great to see what Paula and Lloyd are doing. They are truly genuinely good people who try to help the community on top of their full time jobs. They could definitely use all the help they can get. This is a great place to volunteer for. If you find an injured animal, contact them first before bringing them to the Wildlife Rescue location.
