I called Patrassage, left a message and Patra immediately returned my call. She was able to work us both in that day! The location is perfect in San Marco. I love the concept of Cosmic Groove massage centers. They charge a very affordable amount for…read moremassages. The 1st and 10th visits are $44 for an hour massage and the everything in between is $54 for an hour. I've probably been to Cosmic Groove 5 times over the past five years and for the most part have had pretty good experiences. I just went back this month for the first time in a few years and wasn't so impressed though. My two biggest issues were that my massage therapist had BO and so I could smell her body odor every time she was near my head. It was a little distracting and not so relaxing having that smell around me. The second issue was that when I filled out my paperwork before the massage and wrote that I prefered no touch below the waist down that day and after the massage therapist finished my shoulders and back, she immediately started massaging my legs. I don't understand, she either didn't read the paper when she was looking over it or she forgot what she had read. That being said, all of my other experiences with them were pretty great. The studio is nothing fancy but it is comfortable and inviting. All of my interactions there have been friendly and warm. I'll be back for sure, I just hope not to see the same therapist unless she showers first.

Wow! Amber at Omra Bodywork is amazing! This was the best massage that I have had in Asheville…read more Her studio is comfortable and has great ambience. The location is close to downtown and has it's own parking area. I went to Amber because I was having some intense neck pains. She spent almost the entire hour working on that part of my body trying to help relieve the pain. I really appreciated how she went back and forth between using hot and cold temperatures and she seemed very present during the whole massage. She used a nice pressure and seemed to be very in tune with my body and my muscles. I felt SO much better after the massage and was completely relaxed. I can't wait to go back again.

My review in short: Omra gave me the best massage I've ever had and offers a great value…read more -------------------- I'm not a person that pampers themselves regularly, but when I feel my body starting to break down with strange aches and pains I typically whine about it until my wife urges me to go see a masseuse. I had exhausted all of my groupon options for cheap(er) massages and I took to Yelp to find a great local body work practitioner. Omra was a page back, but I really liked the sound and look of the place so I decided to schedule myself an appointment. Amber, my masseuse, scheduled me an appointment within three days of my call, which I'm sure you know around here is a big deal, some places are booked out for weeks ahead of schedule. She was willing to fit me in on the end of one of her standard scheduled days, so I was grateful before I even stepped foot through the door. Omra is located at a great space with an actual parking lot. Man, that is awesome. Up a couple of flights of stairs in a large shared building and you enter a magically relaxing room. It's cozy as cozy can be. It doesn't feel sterile, it feels loved, and well maintained. There's decorations all around the room that give this place a homey charm. It's like being invited into someone's house. Thoroughly relaxing. I'd love to give you the play by play of my 75 minute massage, but the fact is, it kind of knocked me out. I was put into this kind of weird half awake half dream state, where the massage felt like the longest, and most brief thing that has ever happened. The amount of pressure was perfect, even when I thought I wanted a bit more pressure to work out some sort of knot or twist I felt within my muscles I felt them relaxing and easing up. Super pleasant. I can't say enough nice things about Amber and Omra Bodywork. Truly. I've always ping ponged between places offering groupons, which I'm sure were a way to get me in the door of many of the spas, sanctuaries, and massage houses here in Asheville, but I never felt connected to them. Their rates without the groupon were well out of my budget. However, my full priced treatment at Omra was only slightly more than I've spent on deals at other places in the past, including the tip! I don't look forward to the next time that I need a massage, but at least I feel confident knowing that I have a prefered source of aid and relief when I do.

A divine healing experience!…read more I have been seeing Dee for weekly massages for several months now because she is simply the best massage therapist in my experience. Her new office space on Broadway near downtown AVL offers poetic space imbued with physical beauty, divine meaning, and a sense of inner peace. While her techniques are the best ever for me in terms of focused relief of aches and pains, Dee is more deeply a doctor of the soul! For me, it's like therapy that goes beyond words and conveys her personal presence in a way that heals my body and elevates my soul. Traditional massage focuses on relief for achy muscles, but Dee offers her intuitive self in a way that mediates divine healing, energy, and tranquility beyond what I have ever experienced from traditional massage modalities. We have brief intake and post-session discussions to make sure we're on the same page, and Dee always tweaks what she does based on our conversations. Ample parking, affordable prices, and her new centralized location are all practical perks too!
