Yogi Blair texted me back right away and told me she would try to coordinate. By Friday morning she had us setup with a Yoga instructor/guide. We met our guide at the parking lot a little before 4pm on Saturday. We had the most amazing experience. We stopped in 3 different spots/vortexes. The first we did a small mediation. The second we did an offering to the land. And the third we setup our yoga mats and had the most amazing yoga/sound healing experience. I truly felt the energies from the land. We did the 2 hour tour and that was plenty for us, mostly yoga/mediation, just a little hiking, all amazing!!!

Johanna is an extremely intuitive person and my encounter with her has had a significant impact on the way I am living my reality now. After the clearing I stopped experiencing pain in the area related to a particular chackra. I have been able to sleep for as long as seven hours at a time since. I took a Pranayama & Stretch class on a Friday and a Satya Yoga class on a Monday. I've been doing yoga for a long time and these styles were new to me. I appreciated the mix of breathing, stretching, and opening these two different classes offered. If I'm ever back in that area again, I will definitely drop in for a class again! It is also nearby some great food options, a tarot/palm reader, and souvenir shops. They happened to be having an art festival this past weekend as well so we were able to buy a few unique items from that event!

The first day our flight was delayed and we were running about 15 (!) minutes behind and, so, despite calling and telling them, missed their shuttle to the first day meet and greet. The next morning we went out on a hike. It was raining and very steep and slick and, at 5,000 feet, we needed to go slower. Finally, tired of being rushed and asking to slow down, I told them to go on and they did. (I have never been a guide myself, but having been on guided hikes I've found the leader usually wants to keep track of the people for whom they are responsible.) We found a less steep path and missed another group meeting, as they had it at the top and did not wait to meet back up with us (no flexibility.) It was raining and 40*F and we did not go to the outdoor yoga that day for that reason. My main reason for the low rating is that they were not prepared for inclement weather and were not flexible in any way. It was about 40* and raining the entire week. They did "manage" to get an indoor space at the Hilton Resort at Bell Rock for yoga, which led me to believe they actually have no affiliation with the hotel? However, it wasn't raining in the afternoons which is when we went hiking, instead of staying in and doing yoga then. I was disappointed, to say the least, and would not recommend this retreat, unless you can control the weather. I love Sedona and the Hilton at Bell Rock and have stayed there before and will stay there again. This review is purely for the Vita Pura Yoga retreat. I gave the second star, because I imagine if it was typical Sedona weather and not raining every day, the lack of flexibility would not have been an issue.

While my friend was receiving her massage, I sat in her beautiful garden. It really was an experience in itself, with amazing scents, sounds, and ambience. The massage room is so peaceful and holds a special energy of healing and relaxation. I loved how Cherlita worked with energy as much as the physical massage. My friend who has an extremely sensitive shoulder from a previous sport injury also felt her knowledge and experience allowed her to enjoy the massage because she employed the perfect pressure and focus. It was relaxing and rejuvenating. I felt Cherlita provided me with long-term goals and long-term healing that I can work on even when I'm hundred of miles away from Sedona. I highly recommend getting a copy of her Movement exercises. I used to have the tightest upper neck and back, but doing morning movement exercises guided by Cherlita (via the instructional video) releases all the tension and stress. Cherlita is a wonderful and special person, and her work reflects that. I hope you have the opportunity to experience her work.
