My children attended end of 2021 - beginning of January…read more My son, who was 2 or so at the time, had managed to get out through the unlocked first door, they advised it was my son's fault as he did not follow the 'Stop sign' on the door, he could not read obviously. **********Here is the main incident********************* Within the next couple weeks, my son managed to get out through another door that was left unlocked (This was in an empty room, the facility had barricaded the door with chairs and junk) My son had enough time to climb over and out of that door, walk down South Service Road until a STRANGER saw my 2 year old walking along the side of the highway. He was picked up by the stranger and brought back to the daycare facility, they did not realize that entire time my son was gone. After my son was continuously blamed and they tried to immediately terminate my childcare with no notice. I mentioned I would file a report with them for lack of supervision + no notice. They gave me 1 or 2 weeks where they told me they had to hire extra people for that time. After the situation, they called Children's Aid on myself, assuming due to their negative feelings and expressing my safety concerns which CPS has to follow up and inform us of this.

Now that we are no longer affiliated with this daycare, and held hostage because of the lack of…read moreaccess to decent daycare, I am able to post what I had originally wanted to post in February of this year, 2024. Avoid this facility if at all possible.  My grandchildren have been coming home sick since day 1.  And it's now been 7 months.  Any caregivers who actually try to build attachments with the children, a key support for an infant, either leave or are let go.  Turnover of caregivers seems way too high.  The owner and director invalidate or do not even acknowledge any concerns we have aired with them.  This facility may have openings where everyone else has wait lists, but it is clear why  they have openings.  They have an unfair advantage because of this and are not as concerned about their clientel as they should be for a childcare facility.  I have never worked with a daycare where we have felt like we are being held hostage and have no control, no voice, and no respect. Feb 7th.  As if things aren't bad enough, we were informed at 5:30 pm today that the infant class will be permanently closed as of Feb 14th.  We are given 1 week to find alternate care... after they let a caregiver go yesterday.  If we are supposed to give 30 days' notice when leaving, how equitable is it that we are given 7 days?  The time the email is sent, 5:30 pm, appears to be an avoidance of face to face conversation.  It will be interesting to see how many management are on site tomorrow. Management has been scarce since this event.  The owner refuses to take calls, the supervisor Janette has not been seen nor heard from and the thought is that she has either left or been let go.  The  director Marissa is behaving badly and I would say she is even belligerent. I consider the director Marissa Burris a bully with the rest of the staff.  Caregivers who have shown their care by making gifts for the children have been forced by Marissa to throw them out.  The caregivers are now scared to openly give anything, even a card, to a child under their care.  I will be bringing this up with a governing body who is able to deal with these bullying issues since there is no human resource department at this facility.  It's no wonder the staff will not stay at this facility.  It is also the reason so many people who cross Marissa are let go.  The person who should be fired is Marissa!  I consider her and the owner to be irresponsible, disrespectful and the source for all the issues and staffing problems. December inspection report https://www.earlyyears.edu.gov.on.ca/LCCWWeb/childcare/licenceInspectionSummary.xhtml I did bring the issues to the attention of the Ontario governing body, but it appears that others beat me to it, for which I am grateful! Subsequent inspection reports appear to have facilitated improvements, but our lost trust is not something easily remedied. As of June 3rd, Marissa has been on maternity leave. I will concede that since her absence, things at this daycare seem to have greatly improved with the staffing and the care received. We have felt that Marissa has been the root of a great deal of this toxic environment and expect that it will return when she returns. I am glad we will not be there on her return in spring of 2025, and I hope that her return does not take this daycare back to its previous toxic state prior to her leaving.

This is the absolute best preschool that I have ever come across. Two months ago I had to enroll my…read morechild in a different place, for personal reasons that have nothing to do with Cornerstone. My son had become very attached to the educators, especially Ms. Justine, Mr. Andrew, and Ms. Ericah (the supervisor). He was genuinely flourishing under their care, and I was absolutely heartbroken having to take him from somewhere he was truly cared about and looked after. When we left, we were surprised with an amazing collection of pictures of both him and his friends, as well as him and the educators. Again, this was two months ago now, and he is only 2 years old. To this day, he still comes home every day and pulls these albums out to stare at the people who made him feel so safe and happy every day when I couldn't be with him. The connection these educators made with him will never leave his heart, or mine. Ms. Gurdeep, Ms. Tonya, Ms. Jenna, Ms. G, Mr. Andrew, Ms. Justine, Ms. Ericah, and everyone else there, I just want you to know he still misses you all every single day. The care and dedication you put into your centre is easy to see on a day-to-day basis, but when you're still the first faces he wants to see when he gets home after two full months of being gone, you are making everlasting connections and starting these children off to an amazing start in life. Just want a special mention to Ms. Justine and Mr. Andrew, who were his main caregivers and took the time to understand him and make him so happy day after day. You are both amazing people, and you have definitely found your calling in helping children learn and socialize in a warm, friendly, and safe atmosphere. Ms. Ericah, you were his first love there and watching you move from educator to supervisor filled me with joy and sadness. Joy because I knew you would take this place even further that it already was in education and growth for the kids, and sadness because you wouldn't be with him every second of the day anymore But you still made time for him, and we couldn't love you more for being the wonderful, caring person that you are. If you are looking for child care, I suggest this is your first call because not only do the children learn something new every day, they form bonds that can never be replaced.

My baby joined the infant program (full time) when he was only 7 months since I was a postdoctoral…read morefellow and had to work full time on a very tense and complicated research. We had just moved to Canada... so everything was new and stressful. We were lucky to find kids&Co, a daycare near our house which did not have any waiting list, So we decided to register my son there. In the first a few days, I was very concerned and always wondering whether my baby liked the daycare and his teachers or not... But after only one week I could see the sign of happiness in my baby, he had a big smile on his lips every morning... I saw he was learning many things everyday. Now he is 10 months and half, a very social boy who loves to play with other kids, and adults. Every day when I see how teachers hug my son and talk to him, I can go to work and start my research with no concern, without filling guilty about taking my little baby to a full time daycare. Whenever I have free time I watch my baby online, which is awesome. I really like kids and company menu. I really appreciate the manager and teachers, who care about my baby's food. I understand that he has learned to explore the variety of foods and different tastes, which it would never happen if he was with me all day long, because personally I am picky person and do not like to try new foods and new tastes. It's great to see that wherever we go, he loves to eat any kind of homemade foods and I have no worries in this case. I am always very proud of him when I"m in a company of friends who have the kids in age of him. The manager is also great, she listens to us carefully and our feed backs even negatives is very important to her. And teachers are so nice and I see the endless kindness in their eyes.
