With less than a month's notice, I received an email saying my upcoming appointment was canceled. No explanation. I called the clinic twice leaving a message to reschedule and did not receive a call back. Finally, on my third try I spoke to someone who said my practitioner had left and I was no longer a patient there. I told them the last time my doctor left they placed me with someone else. They said they weren't doing that. The waiting list to get into another neurologist is months long. Meanwhile, I have been suffering with almost daily migraines. When I complained to my insurance company Advanced Neurology LIED and told them they sent out letters. I never received a letter. I have filed a complaint with DORA and I hope there are repercussions. I know a lot of patients got dropped from this clinic. Giving less than a month's notice shows a lack of compassion and is nothing short of negligent.

As someone living with cognitive decline, she needed compassion, patience, and clear guidance. Instead, both she and my father felt unheard and shamed. Following the appointment, I repeatedly contacted the office to discuss our concerns and requested a call from the office manager. Despite multiple attempts, I never received a return call. I was told I could not contact the office manager directly or by email, and even after involving a patient advocate, there was no follow-up. I have a signed Release of Information and understand HIPAA requirements. The issue is about healthcare access, communication and accountability. Patients and families facing healthcare challenges deserve empathy, respect, and timely responses when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. As a result, my mother's care has been delayed, and our family will transfer her care elsewhere.

So, for my last appointment I went with Kira, PA, who was rushed, impatient, and actually hung up on me to transfer me when I was questioning getting correct labs. She is young and seems untrained in bedside manner; I consider this more of an issue with the overall management and training at Miramont than anything else. The overall vibe at Miramont feels chaotic. A year or so ago their computer system went down and ALL medical records were lost. I do have to say, though, the front desk folks are very sweet, as are the lab techs. Also, they seem to be way behind the times as far as regular technology - they do not have a portal, so you have to call and ask them to email lab results. If you want to message a provider through DirectHealth, you get charged. They should check out the UC Health system for standards.

The pre-op nurse was very caring letting me know I was in great hands and to not be nervous. Easier said than done.. my hands were sweaty I was so nervous. Finally I was in the operating room and the surgery nurse (Who I wish I could remember her name) was super sweet and caring! She literally talked to me the whole time through the procedure saying I was doing great and hold in there we are almost done. And at 29 years old, she offered to hold my hand. What a nurse! Highly recommend if you have a surgery and going there is an option, go!
