DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Absolutely the worst customer service. I have been trying to get them to come out and fix the horribly built building I have ever seen. I have sent them 21 pictures of the CRAPPY workmanship. You should see how sloppy and half assed this garage is! I have called them to get them to come out and fix this building that LEAKS! This building still can't pass inspection until they put 2 more anchors in. I have been trying to get this fix since the end of March 2019. Every time I call the girl is always out to lunch, when you call back she is still out. For 2 hours and all the time I don't thinks so!. No one wants to try to help you or call you back, I have tried to get their supervisor out to look at ALL THE PROBLEMS that I have with no avail. I have had to file complaints with the NC State Consumer Protection Agency & the BBB of Raleigh. Sad that I have to get an Attorney to get this taken care of! I could write a novel about all the messed up things this company has done. When the people arrived to put up the carport they said they couldn't get up my driveway. Ive had a 20ft wood framed building brought up in one piece, as well as the trusses for the house, but ok, Ill give them that one. Then over 4 months later they call and say they are bringing it again! So I take the day the day off work...for nothing, they didn't show up! Then the next day they finally come, there are huge bolts sticking out of the bottom of the carport just waiting to cut my tires, and its not even level. But I pay them, just glad the whole disaster is over with...so I think. Then they have the nerve to call the next day and say I owe an additional $350, for restocking fee!!!! Good luck getting that! Worst experience! Their customer service is ridiculous and they don't even pay attention to what you are saying to them. They have no consideration for their customers and do not value your time at all. We are now sitting through our third delivery cancellation with no phone call and they don't have a care in the world about it. Extremely dissatisfied with the service from this company. After workers left we noticed the doors were not on properly. The latch was not lined up properly and therefore the door did not close to the bottom of the ground (it was about 2 inches above ground). We called the company every day asking if they could send someone to fix the doors. They said the next time they were in our area they would stop by to fix it but never did. Well, we ordered a carport from Joe's Cycle shop in Mechanicville, NY, a local dealer of CAROLINA CARPORTS. It was supposed to be installed within 6 weeks. THREE MONTHS LATER later I received a call from some outfit called HBO Carports saying they just received the order. Too many calls back to the dealer asking what's going on and no calls back, and promises that never came to be. Inquires to HBO Carports resulted in them twice hanging up the phone on me, and not answering when I called back. After two weeks of this, HBO finally called to say they were delivering and installing the carport to our camp on a day I already told them they couldn't because I wasn't going to be there that day (Friday). They dropped off the parts and left, telling my neighbor they would be back the over the next two days to install. We had to hang around all day (Saturday and Sunday) waiting. They FINALLY called on Sunday around 3:00 PM saying they would be there within a half an hour. They arrived THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER, started the installation at 6:30 PM and finished at 10:30 PM in the dark. I had to put my truck's headlights on for them to see. Are you kidding me? Three installers and not one spoke English. They left the bottom rails of the carport 6 inches off the ground, using pieces of block and wood jammed under the bottom rails to support the whole structure. They should have dug into the ground to level the rails instead. Now I have "ankle breakers" all around my parked truck. Then, they hovered over me they wanted me to sign a form indicating I was happy with the job. I just wanted them to leave. We had our young grandchildren with us and we still had to drive over an hour to them home so they had get up for school the next day. No one ever told us there would be a 3% charge for using a credit card, and, through VERY broken English, they wanted me to write my credit card number and information on an order form that had three copies and I have no idea where that piece of paper could end up. That's not happening so I refused. Oh, I could have given them cash or a bank certified cashier's check instead but I just didn't see any banks around at 10:30 PM in the middle of nowhere. The next week I had to go out and purchase some reasonable blocks to put under the bottom rail and remove the piles of crap they used to support the rails. HBO carport's "customer service" is certainly not service oriented at all and the installation is ....suspect. Never again. read more

On March 27th HBO carports sent out their installers to install our 30x40 garage with 2 10x10 roll-up doors and one walk through door. The day was rainy and the ground around the concrete pad was clay mud. The installers showed up on March the 26 ( we got the call that the building was coming that day at 3:30 pm for the following day) at 8:30 pm unannounced to leave the building. They left their equipment with promises to return at 7 am to begin the building. The crew did not show up until after 8 am and proceeded to install the building. My wife was concerned with the front peak of the building looking crumpled ( the metal) and from there it all began to go downhill. The install continued into Wed. the 28th where I told my wife to look at the building after they were done. When going over the building there were several issues that caught her attention as well as mine. There were several panels that were crumpled looking, scratched and some even had deep grooves from installation tools cutting into them. The installers saw nothing wrong with the building. My wife even pointing it out to them did not help them to see anything. They said they would be done in an hour and came to the back door to have me sign off on the building. I had called HBO and spoke to them voicing my concerns and the installation team only got angry at the fact that there was nothing wrong with their work at least to them. I would not sign off on the paperwork and they left. Upon them leaving we noticed the walkthrough door had no catch mounted it was thrown on the frame near the door and no spring to stop the door from opening to the point of ripping off. They left trash and screws and cigarette butts all over and screws which do not go well with tires, paws of hooves. Not to mention the footprints and mud all over the building where they had walked on the sheets of metal. The finance company called and we told them and documented with photos and videos ( even one of an installer dropping a sheet of metal to the ground so it crumpled) of the poor workmanship. Finally, on Good Friday someone from HBO came out seeing all of the mishaps and vowed to make it right. On Tuesday, April 3 while I was getting ready to make a two-hour trip to take my wife to the doctor I get a text message that they are on the way to make the repairs. I scramble to get things prepared for them to make my wife's appointment on time. They want to use my well to powerwash the mud and footprints left by the crew on the metal. They were to replace all the damaged panels and the trim that was scratched and bent with cut pieces being placed so that they could easily be caught and ripped off replace all of the scratched and dented trim along with fixing the door and adding anchors for our inconvenience. As I am leaving they ask about a concrete drill bit to drill the anchors in little did I know that in an hour we were going to have an even bigger mess! The main guy called and the panels that they brought were still not right thanks to their stamping machine and so they were not going to put them up. What they did not bother to say is that neither were they putting all the screws back in and again leave screws all over the ground never fix the walkthrough door or complete the anchors they drilled through the frame and left the anchor bolts in there. So mother nature decided on a windy day the next day and low and behold the trim ripped away from the building that was only secured with one screw. Now no matter how many times you call or ask for it in writing NO ONE at HBO will provide you with answers or confirm anything. We are going to fix it but when and so forth is never on their mind they think that you should revolve your life around them. Now here is one important factor in this whole thing the building is covering how I earn my money my automotive lift. I was told I cannot install anything in the building or I lose my warranty. This building is a mess and dealing with this company has been everything that everyone has warned about in the reviews. To date besides an email that was sent after we told them that no more communications would take place unless in writing that they were going to fix certain things and that was all. My wife handles all of my business matters and when emailing them back voicing that we were not being compensated in any way by them or giving us fix dates to get these matters handled she signed her name instead of mine and that produced an email that said that they were speaking to me not her. I emailed back that these were my words and have not heard anything from them. I have so much documentation such as videos and pictures of the damage right after the building was up to the damage done by the wind from the left undone of " repair" work. Waited 14 weeks for them to be late on first try, late on second try then told we would be charged $200.00 for labor/ carrying ladder then the installer said it was because he had to get hotel and stay just to do our car port. I ordered and paid the first fee was told 4 to 6 weeks now going on 8 weeks still no carport. after 5 weeks I called them they assured me 2nd or 3rd week December well they called the day they was supposed to deliver and said its on hold till when couldnt give me a date so I took a loss on my money and ordered it through superior outdoor structures. ended up being cheaper for the same. they lost my business,its a shame cause I bought 1 from them and needed another carport and a metal pole barn.
