During the session, there was very little guidance or direction provided for posing. We chose this photographer specifically because of her advertised expertise in sunset beach photography, so we were expecting more structure and creative input to help capture our family in the best possible way. When we received the final gallery, we were disappointed with the overall quality of several images. The sunset--one of the main reasons we booked--was barely visible or lacked the vibrant colors we anticipated. In fact, some photos we took ourselves on our phones captured the sky more vividly. Additionally, several images appeared soft or lacked sharpness, particularly around the eyes, which made them feel unusable. It was very clear the photos were edited using AI tools. To her credit, the photographer acknowledged that some of the issues were due to moisture affecting her lens during the session. She offered either a complimentary reshoot or a 30% refund. While I appreciate the effort to address the situation, neither option fully resolves the disappointment--especially since we are not local and cannot easily return for a reshoot. None of the prints are worth printing. It was very disappointing as this was our first family photography session with my new granddaughter. Overall, while the photographer was professional in communication, the final product did not reflect the level of quality we expected based on her portfolio and pricing. I would recommend that future clients clarify expectations around posing, editing style, and contingency plans for technical issues before booking.

I also requested a deposit twice through venmo and they were both declined (I have email proof that it was declined). I also tried calling the number on the website to speak with him directly and the person on the other line didn't know what I was talking about? Not sure if they were playing dumb or if it was a false number on a fake website. This turns out to be a scam and they stole $75 deposit money from me! I'm definitely reporting this to the IRS.

However, found out that they divorced and Shaun moved out west. But Karen was still there and started her own business, Salty Memories Photography. Paid my deposit for our session. Day of session, she texts me and says that she is ill and could I possibly reschedule for the next night. It was an inconvenience as it was our last night in the beach, but I agreed. The next day, she totally cancelled us six hours before our scheduled time, telling me that she will refund me. I have yet to receive my refund. I have Sent numerous text messages, emails and Facebook messenger notes. She has unfriended me on Facebook. Filed a complaint with the BBB, of which she has not responded. Also, when she cancelled my appointment, I asked if she could refer someone. She gave me two other photographers that were so far out of my budget. Never telling me that Shaun was back in Florida. Would have loved to have worked with him again. I hate giving him this a so-so rating because of her. But feel that as they are not a team, you need to hear the whole story.
