Razor Striking System
Rob M.

OG MMA spot from the start. Offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (kids classes too), Striking & kickboxing conditioning classes. Personal training available with a full gym set up.

Amazing place to train to your heart's content. Originally came in because Paul reached out after I saw an ad online, he convinced me to really give the Gracie jiu-jitsu classes a shot based on my goals at the time. From that point forward, I'd be making an understatement if I said that the coaching and content provided by the head coach Dean Wellen was anything less than transformative. In just a few months over my 1 year of training mark, I was able to put in the work to really learn the Gracie system, and test to earn my first belt. I'm still training as much as I can manage, and study the content of the online modules relentlessly. If I can do it so can you, give yourself a shot to learn in a supportive, safe, and respectful environment before you decide to go elsewhere... You'll be glad you did! P.S. In your Jiu-Jitsu journey, you might make a few awesome friends along the way...

Coach Dean and the kiddos

My daughter loves it here!! They not only teach self-defense, but also great values, manners, and way of life! Coach Dean is so great with the kiddos. He connects Life lessons in every class, and we enjoy seeing our children grow in a mature setting. I am one of those parents who sit through the session in learned so much from each class. They're times when my daughter just doesn't wanna go home. She said Coach Dean is the coolest.

so clean and the equipment is top of the line. they have a full time janitor that disinfects the mats and each bag after every class!

I've been coming to this gym for many years now. The staff is extremely educated on fitness and are so helpful and motivating. They know exactly how to make you feel welcomed and comfortable every day. The classes are a great workout. My favorite class is the ultimate fit kickboxing which incorporates circuit training with the kickboxing. I would HIGHLY recommend this gym to anyone who wants to change their life and be the healthiest and look the best that they ever have! This place changed my life. Love the HBUTC fam! P.S. the cancellation policy and process are explained in great detail to you when you sign your membership agreement. All you have to do is come into the gym and sign a form saying you want to cancel and your card won't be charged again. I had to cancel and rejoin a few times when I left for college and came back. Pretty simple if you ask me!

Kickboxing: I've trained at other gyms before, and one thing I really appreciate about Coach Haley…read moreis her consistency and reliability. She's absolutely great! She's always there pushing us to improve, which honestly makes a huge difference compared to coaches I've had in the past who weren't consistently present for classes. Her routines are also really well put together. She mixes in new combos here and there, so there's always something new to work on. She's very knowledgeable and experienced in what she teaches. Boxing: Jessie is an awesome boxing coach! He's very attentive, walks around the room to make sure everyone is using proper form. Great combos and I like that he suggests options to add a strike in the middle of the combo routine. Jessie exudes an incredible energy that motivates you to push out your best efforts in every class. Also shoutout to both coaches for good selection of music and always ending each class with stretching. I really appreciate that they take the time for recovery and not just the workout itself.

I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with A1 Boxing Club…read more I canceled my membership and confirmed the cancellation twice over the phone, yet they continued charging me afterward. When I discovered the continued charges and asked for the money to be refunded, the owner, Joe, refused. What made the situation significantly worse was how it was handled. Instead of trying to understand why I was upset or make the situation right, Joe was extremely disrespectful and aggressive with me on the phone. If a customer cancels, confirms that cancellation twice, and is still charged, I believe those charges should be refunded. Continuing to take someone's money after they've clearly communicated that they are canceling feels predatory to me. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. According to the BBB, they attempted to contact the company regarding my complaint but were unable to obtain a response, and the dispute was recorded as unanswered. This could have been resolved very easily with basic customer service and a refund of the charges after my cancellation. Instead, they chose not to resolve it. I would not recommend this business.

A little over a decade ago, I discovered that kickboxing was my spirit workout. It's the only…read moreworkout that I always look forward to doing, consistently, over and over again. And movement/exercise is so important, especially for me dealing with young-onset Parkinson's disease. So when my favorite kickboxing studio closed last summer after having been my fit fam for almost 10 years, I was on the hunt for a new kickboxing/boxing gym. A couple of months ago, I happened to notice Title Boxing Club as I was driving by. I took the free trial class and immediately joined. And I've taken 24 classes in the last six weeks. They offer both regular boxing and kickboxing classes to a wide range of members: I have seen students to working professionals to retirees. And while each class is paced with distinct intervals, you can punch and kick at your own speed and at your own power level and modify as needed. The classes are taught by some of the friendliest, funnest, and most approachable coaches you'll ever meet. I think I've taken classes with all but one of the coaches (my schedule hasn't lined up with Coach Oleksand's schedule yet, but I'm hoping to catch one of his classes sometime soon), and each coach has their own personality and expertise, which they bring to their classes. Coach Mike is great with those new to boxing/kickboxing. Even though I'm pretty experienced with kickboxing in general, I find his detailed instructions helpful reminders to maintain proper form as my dystonia and dyskinesia try to take me down. (Not today, Parkinson's MFers!) Mike patiently explains and demonstrates each punch and kick and reminds everyone to be safe and to modify and take breaks as necessary. But don't underestimate him just because he's a nice guy; his class will kick your butt without you knowing it kicked your butt until after it's done kicking your butt. All while he's low-key zen-like congratulating you on a job well done and kindly reminding you to stay hydrated. Coach Marcus has a lot of cross-disciplinary expertise and stresses the importance of defensive boxing. In his class there's a focus on light footwork, slips, and rolls. Marcus also sometimes incorporates aspects of yoga and tai chi into his class, which is so cool to me as it juxtaposes smooth, flowing, grounded movements with the sharp jabs and quick punches of boxing, showing how strength and power can be fundamental in each of these disciplines which work well with and complement the other. Coach Diego is the ultimate cheerleader of the club and has a perpetually huge warm smile on his face because he's always genuinely thrilled to be there. You can clearly see how much passion he has for, and fun he has with coaching boxing and kickboxing. You can't help but to also smile with him; even me with my resting-workout-face, I can't not smile when he gives me a fist bump. It's especially appreciated after his super high-energy class when I'm wiped out. I'm old, he's young, and he reminds me of when I used to have that kind of energy. Coach Emmanuel is very good at pushing you that extra bit more than you think you can do. You don't think you can do it, but you do end up doing it and then you feel great about it. How does he do this? One word: "EXPLODE!". That's right. Whenever he yells out "EXPLODE!" you do a pre-determined set of moves in a quick, explosive manner at maximum power. It could be at 15 seconds, 10 seconds, 8.5 seconds, 3.141592 seconds, who knows? Or it could be back-to-back-to-back-to-back until you think your arms will fall off but you keep going anyway until you finish the complete drill because it was so damn fun and you love a good challenge and Pavlov or something like that. Off the floor he's got such a kind and calm demeanor and is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. The front desk staff are also wonderful. They greet you by name when you come in, are happy to help you with anything you need, and are just all-around positive and encouraging. Shout-out to Ina (manager and the first friendly smile you'll see most days walking into the gym), Cierra (she was the one who signed me up. When it was time to give her my credit card, I realized I'd left my wallet at home. I told her I'd run home real quick to get my wallet and be right back. On the way home I laughed because I realized that sounded like a stereotypical bad line to dump a business and that she probably was thinking "yeah, right, lady." I think she was surprised I actually came back within 5 minutes.), Abby (she greeted me by name the first time we met. How did she know? Is that a superpower?), and one other girl I saw one time I came in but sorry I didn't catch her name. They make me happy to show my face there every day. If you're curious or on the fence about boxing or kickboxing, come try out Title! At the very least, you'll get a (first time is) free fun and effective workout. Or maybe, just maybe, you'll discover your newest favorite sweat therapy.

ŌKA is the best gym I've trained at, and it's not even close. I'm there 3 to 5 times a week and I…read morestill look forward to every session. The community is the biggest reason. New people get taken care of, longtime members still get pushed, and everyone wants you to get better. That's harder to find than it sounds. Ron, the owner, is a big part of why it feels that way. He knows his stuff at a level you notice immediately, but what stands out more is that he actually cares about every person in the room. He remembers what you're working on and checks in on it. The rest of the coaches are the same way. I've never left a class without something I could use the next time I trained. I'm in the best shape of my life and I'm still learning constantly. It was clear that respect for parents and children is simply not part of the culture in this club. You should be prepared for parents to step onto the training floor just to protect their own children. The club manager is completely unprofessional. When this happened for the second time, I tried to speak with him to resolve the issue. Instead of addressing the problem, he chose to mock my accent. I am sharing this experience as a warning to other parents. If you decide to enroll your child at this club, never leave them unattended. Stay there and watch every practice, because the same thing that happened to my child could just as easily happen to yours.
