The Haymarket isn't exactly somewhere I'd go regularly, and it is a little depressing to the naked eye.
Having said that, it's quite characterful, since most of the shops and cafes have been there for years and just feel like they've always been there.
There are 2 cafes in these and they're both pretty decent, actually. There's also a bookshop that I've already reviewed and a second-hand DVD shop (used to be videos, but times have moved on!), and a great little record shop where you'll find everything from vintage vinyl to EPs from local bands.
Like Lyra M said, you shouldn't expect to get loads of shopping done here, but it's worth having a little nosy in. read more
