Hayes Creek Falls was definitely "A-OK" in my book:
++ Located just off CO133 and well marked with roadside signage it's easy to spot as your approaching.
++ The way the slot canyon has been carved away by the water is so gorgeous.
++ There's plenty of parking on the shoulder of CO133 for a quick stop at the falls.
-- Depending on the time of the year you visit, I could see it being very disappointing. The falls were little more than a trickle when I went, but I'd imagine spring time is gorgeous!
-- I wouldn't say it's impressive enough to make it a destination; but definitely a great pit stop en route to bigger things (hello Crystal Mill).
Hayes Creek Falls made a decent little detour on my way home from my day hiking at Crystal Mill. read more
