I could not recommend this car wash enough. The customer service here is incredible. I have been using this car wash for a few years. Today, after I self-vacuumed my car, I accidentally locked my keys in. I went inside to let them know I was going to call my insurance for roadside assistance and a very kind employee told me I could call my insurance if I preferred, but that he has a tool to unlock my vehicle. I gratefully took him up on the offer. He used professional tools to open my vehicle in 5 minutes (because I guess people probably get locked out of their cars a lot). I very gratefully tried to tip him a $20 when I was in the car, and he kindly refused multiple times. He was truly just helping a customer. We use the monthly automatic car wash where I sit inside and drive through. It is very affordable. Two employees pre-scrub the car before it goes through the car wash. On the other end two employees quickly dry any residual water droplets. I then choose to self-vacuum, but there is a full-service option as well. I got my car washed for $22 today. Came home to find that my trunk wasn't vacuumed, which was a mess...and my hub caps on my car were filthy! I called to speak to the owner Robert who wasn't in, I spoke to Carlos who told me to come back. I wasn't about to drive all the way back, I live far from Hawthorne. After going to a car wash on route 17 and argued with the attendant I only wanted a vacuum and wash with the response NO YOU MUST GET IT DETAILED it's to sandy. After leaving with a outside only wash that wasn't very good I went to Hawthorne Car Wash. pulled up to friendly attendants asked for the full service. And WOW! My car looks amazing. On my second visit there they thought it was ok to lift up my water bottles, which I instructed not to touch, and vacuumed up all my quarters under the bottles. Five dollars worth! WARNING ...BEWARE ...They damaged my car on TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS!!!!! First, they torn off the side mirror which they tried to claim wasn't their fault. At least under the old management, they eventually had the decency to reimburse me for the damage. I decided to give them a second chance and now they damaged my roof rack, parts of which tore off completely in the washing garage. I went 9/22 to get my tahoe washed. 1) The guy that came to the truck-I could not understand a word he said He took my credit card and told me he would bring it back to me. 2) They guys started to soap up my car when the guy came to bring me my credit card (car already soaking wet) i opened the window/he gave to me- but then the machine that moves your wheels made a big thump -- machine broke.......so they hand washed my car. 3) They did a terrible job- i actually got out and borrowed a towel to wipe down the car (parts soaking wet). I wish i can give them -5 stars. I get there May 25th around 5ish the place is empty so it looked like a no brainer . Paid 24$ for full service on my chevy avalanche. The truck comes thru and they lock my keys inside . They told me call police and they unlocked it after 15 min of him prying my door open and scratching my truck. Not 1 I'm sorry from any employees. I have been going here for years. Today I decided to get the $24 car wash. Long story short, they did a terrible job and even got dirt on my white leather interior. Not only did they "clean my car" they cleaned out my change compartment in my car, only taking the quarters and leaving pennies. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! I got my SUV detailed and I have to say.... my car looked brand new from top to bottom. My car got really dirty after all the rain, snow, average use, and my dog shedding like the little furry butthole that he is. I didn't expect my car to look as pristine as it did. Do not go. My car was not clean at all. Never wiped either of my doors and had spray all over. To top it off my glove compartment was open so I looked. Registration for car gone. I quadruple checked everywhere. Had it in there recently. Went back. The woman there said no manager is there. She acted like she had no clue what I was saying and just shuffled papers. Nothing. I went today, spent $26.00? For the top car wash there.. I then left, made a stop and noticed spots 7 of them. 3 on the hood and on driver door. I went back and the guy said nothing he could do to take it off , it's tree sap. I told him other car washes remove it. He tried rubbing it with a spray bottle of water and it was coming off. He stopped trying to get it off, He told me to go home and get alcohol and put a little on a rag and it will come off. When I came in to the car wash I told the guy my.inside back window has a film , hard to see out of it , please clean it good , after I left there, I made a stop at a store and when I drove thru a sunny area I noticed all my windows were smeared streaky and my side mirrors had spot of dried water on them, my front window inside at the bottom by the dashboard never was washed. To echo what others have said, the service here is not good. It should be simple, meet pleasantly, what type of service, receipt and thank you for your business while you go and wait for your car. Car goes through and gets cleaned. Employees make you feel they don't even want you there, car comes out still dirty on the inside and there never is anyone there to talk to about it. Go for the exterior only and you'll save yourself some time and headache. I have tried to give it numerous chances to see if maybe it was just a bad day, but they have been consistently consistent with less then great service. This place is Horrible. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. My wife took our car there for a car wash this weekend and ended up driving out the other side with a flat tire. Its amazing how quick a $25 car wash can turn into a $275 headache. I tried contacting the manager on multiple occasions with no response. I then learned that the manager had no interest in speaking to me since he said it wasn't his problem. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I brought my car to Hawthorne Car Wash, and after getting home 10 minutes later noticed black spots all along the passenger side of my car. Upon further inspection they seemed to be some type of seed from a tree, which could be picked off easily with a fingernail, so not anything damaging or hard to get off, just a lot of work if had to be done by hand. I decided to head back to the car wash and ask them if they could run it through again or get the spots off with one of their brushes they use before you go in. I went back to the car wash and spoke with "Juan", who said he was the manager, even though my subsequent Google research says otherwise. I showed him the spots, which he said were chips in the paint, until I showed him they could be picked off. I asked if they could clean my car again, as it was not clean as I had paid for. He rudely told me that the machine would not take them off and said there was nothing he could do (Not to mention this man spoke very little english, so it was very hard to get my point across, and I'm not a confrontational or mean person at all). I then asked for the owner's name and phone number so that I could contact him for a resolution (they have scrub brushes that they barely use on your car so this wasn't an impossible task, and for the record other car washes have gotten much worse off my car(s) including caked on egg from mischief night). He disappeared for about 10 minutes, leaving me outside, then came back and told me he could not find it. I asked him for the owner's name, and he wrote "Pete" on the back of one of their business cards, that's it. I asked what the owner's last name is, and he said he did not know. I left very upset, and very angry at this treatment, and the lack of any real management at the establishment. After much searching on Google, I found the name of the owner is in fact not Pete but Douglas Spoelstra. Further research shows the owners are actually a father and son with the same name, one living in Florida and one in the immediate area, no contact info though. I am a Hawthorne resident and know many people who have frequented this car wash, mainly because of the coupons, but I have made sure they know the level of service this place really provides if you have an issue, and would not recommend this car wash to ANYONE. read more

How do you run a car wash with only one vacuum? I went Saturday to find out it is only exterior due to the vacuum breaking. When trying to call and see if it was back up Saturday mid day and Sunday, the phone goes to a voice mail not set up yet recording. So no vacuum and no working phone. On Monday, January 22, 2018 I went to this car wash for the fifth time with my mini. Always satisfied with the ultimate except this time. I bought the $25 ultimate package and I couldn't believe how my car came out. I did have speckles of tar in the front I do understand that won't come off. However the Rims were extremely dirty they told me they couldn't do anything about it. I asked for a rag and proceeded to clean all four rims by hand myself. Then the package also included shampooing of the mats. They were not clean at all. I went inside and talk to the young lady she came out and talk to the man and the man said the shampooing of the mats only apply to rubber mats not carpeted mats like mine. Of course she told me the carpeted mats would be another $10. I couldn't believe it. it was like a twilight zone episode. In a nutshell if you get the ultimate package and you have carpet mats they will not get shampooed! Maybe it was an off day ?!?!? With off employees?!? but come on people $25 and my car was really really dirty, as if I went through a five dollar car wash. While I was complaining very nicely and respectfully they were very unsympathetic to my dirty car after paying $25. It's a good thing I spoke Spanish and spoke to them in their language. In a nutshell if you go there sometimes you car will be clean and sometimes it will, so it's the luck of the draw.
