Just had my fantastic Hawt Shots session! The entire process was flawless. Theresa Mocini is outstanding in her customer service orientation. I only had a small window I could go for a shoot and, even though I wasn't able to give her much notice and she's officially booked through August, she juggled things around to fit me in. I then received a tips email and a reminder email prior to the session. Her studio is quite inconspicuous on the outside. Once inside there's a pleasant sitting area, a makeover room and a lovely boudoir room. Theresa starts by reviewing the process step-by-step including photo purchase options. I really appreciated everything being clarified up front like that. Then off to the boudoir room (no hair/makeup for me this time) and again Theresa carefully reviewed the game plan. 3 wardrobe changes, 3 poses per wardrobe change, and varity within the pose (look up, look at me, look over your shoulder, that sort of thing). Theresa demonstrated the poses and had lots of patience with me as I did my best to replicate them :-) The hour flew by and the pace was fast, yet eveything was relaxed and we had fun along the way chitchatting about all sorts of stuff. She shared some raw results in her viewfinder which were outstanding. I'm a long way from photogenic but Theresa obviously knows just what to do to accenuate your positives, hide your negatives and make you look good. First and foremost I LOVE Theresa Moncini! I love her work so much, that I have been back multiple times. I'd like to start of by saying that I am sorely disappointed in YELP! How is it that all the 5 star ratings are missing from the reviews and only the negative ones are showing up?? Hmmmm...a little biased? Now on the to the most important part, the actual review. I initially received a Groupon from my husband as a gift to go to Hawt Shots. I am not an insecure woman, however, I am a plus size woman and have had some seriously negative experiences with other photographers. In addition to that, my husband gave me the gift when I was 7 months pregnant with our miracle baby. Every preconceived notion I had about Theresa was blown away. I try not to judge a book by a cover, but my initial thoughts were, "What does this gorgeous, petite, woman, know about posing my pregnant plus size curves?" Boy would she prove me wrong. My photos were amazing and worth every penny. My first session was March 9, 2013. I would come back again to have photos done of my daughter and I together after she was born. Then again for Christmas 2013. I will be back again for our anniversary this year!! I love Theresa's work so much that I gladly volunteer to promote her work, to tell other woman about her, and hand out her cards. She loves her job and she loves helping women fulfill their beauty potential and empowering them. She was made for this job. She loves it and she loves the women she works for. She truly does not care what size you are what your insecurities are. She will help you love parts of you that you didn't know was possible. Hawt Shots - Pregnancy Boudoir - Session Photography Near Me - Houston, Texas

I purchased a boudoir package via Living Social to give my husband as his groom's gift. To start off I followed the instructions listed on the voucher which said to call. I got voice mail and left a message, a short while later I received a call back from a curt, and snotty person who told me I was suppose to schedule my appointment online, "Like the voucher says". It didn't say that it said to call, when I told them that, they said well it is suppose to, to which I replied that seems like an issue you need to fix with them instead of being rude to you clients. So eventually, while having serious buyers remorse, I booked my appointment online. This was prior to them having a studio. I was told and confirmed that on the day I would be sent a message telling me the room number they were shooting in, I was not. The hair and make was ok, I could have done it myself. The "reassurance" the website boosts is severely lacking. She wants you in and out so she can collect from the next person. The Living Social package was only for the photo shoot, no pictures. I had to spend about $200 additional to even have any of the images. I also purchased a mini-accordion album, that to this day I still have not received. My photo shoot was in October of 2011. When I did my research on this company there were no reviews what so ever. Consider yourself warned. The deal is not great and the service leaves something to be desired. read more

Horrible customer service, Booked my appointment months ago. Arrived only to find out that the makeup artist had been sent home because I had not confirmed my appointment. Was sent text messaged to my home phone and not one actual phone call was made to my home phone number. Not only do I work from home so I would have answered but have caller ID and am the only one that checks messaged. She lied to my face about calling. Said she would make me another appointment then refused to work with me when I said my calendar was at home so that would not be possible. I had also emailed for the latest tips on Monday which was responded to and was reminded that a 48 hour cancellation policy. I never cancelled. Completely unprofessional, suite hard to find in building, not on directory. read more

Disappointing experience overall. These photos were purchased for my husband in celebration of my recent weight loss, and he hates all but two of them. And this is a man who loves nothing more than a picture of me in next to nothing. I looked at the book and cried; he looked at the book and sent it into the attic for storage. Had I told him what I'd paid, no doubt he would have cried, too. The website explains the process and how you will be welcomed, made to relax, offered wine and fruit, etc. This was not my experience. Upon arrival, I was immediately sat down to complete paperwork and choose my photo package, then moved to the makeup room. When I finally asked for something to drink, I got a half-serving of wine in a small plastic cup. Makeup application was a letdown. Artist started applying without asking what look I wanted to go for (glamorous, exotic, natural) or what to accentuate. She said she had done hundreds of shoots and already knew what I would want. Despite me bringing up several times during the shoot itself that I didn't feel comfortable with the makeup application results - heavy eyeliner was messy/uneven, one false eyelash starting to detach, lipstick coming off with liner showing, eyebrows untouched - I was reassured that it looked great. I have my makeup done at MAC or Lancome counters for special occasions (I'm a firm believer in leaving things I'm terrible at in the hands of professionals), and the difference is astonishing. Hair stylist did a good job, though - I give her props for working to make short hair sexy, not an easy task. On the photographer, I have to agree with a previous Yelper that attention to detail was sorely lacking. I had assumed there would be a lot of individualized direction, and that we would discuss the body parts I wanted to accentuate and those I wanted to hide before we started, but it was actually me who brought that up about halfway through the shoot. As I was rushed through the poses, small details that should have been caught were missed - hair across one eye, visible shirt label, slouching - marring photos that could have been okay. I mentioned at the start and then a few more times that I am not flexible (back problems), yet I was put in a few poses I could not physically pull off, so they look incredibly strained and awkward. Cookie-cutter poses, nothing personalized at all - you will get exactly the same poses you see on their website. Kept having to ask where to put my hands, where to direct my eyes, how to angle my face - things I strongly feel the photographer should have been proactive in addressing. When I asked for direction on facial expressions, was told not to try to look "sexy" as that photographs as angry (which makes sense), but not to really smile either, and as a result in 95% of my photos I am just blank-faced, no expression at all. I am not delusional and did not expect to look like a supermodel, but I strongly feel that my photos could have been much better had the details been attended to properly. I realize they allot a certain amount of time for each session, but I felt extremely rushed from beginning to end. Although I was treated with respect and the ladies were very nice, it was clear that they weren't interested in me; I was just their one o'clock. :-( Location wasn't an issue at all - very easy to find. The digital photos were available much sooner than expected - cool. When I was notified the book was ready for pick up and they would be open until 2pm, I immediately rushed over at 1pm to pick it up, only to find the door locked. Waiting 25 minutes in a hallway for someone to let me in - uncool. $600 for 10 digital photos and a small book of cookie-cutter poses, some with glaring oversights that could have been easily corrected. Very disappointed, as I had researched the hell out of local boudoir photography studios before settling on them. Unfortunately, I do feel like I settled. read more

Well, I purchased the Hawt Shots to do studio pictures of me. When I went on the site, I thought to myself, what have I bought? LOL Then I thought, well, I can still do just regular pictures, had no idea about boudoir pics! I am a gospel minister, God fearing committed believer, who wants to stay "real". However, I am also created female by divine design. In Him, I am holy as He is holy, but at the same time I am made fearfully and wonderfully made, a beautiful woman, inside and out! I am not in a relationship, and the closer the day came for my session, I decided that I was going to "stretch" and desired to capture the sensual gifted woman-side of me as well for me alone! I did an all white outfit, white shirt/delicate sweater and flowing white skirt that I actually minister in and when I do, feel angelic! I also, had two sexy outfits to wear as well. Yes, I was nervous, but Theresa Mocini was the perfect photographer for me! She explained how she operated in the session, and then as we worked together she gave me too the freedom to have my own ideas for poses. IT WAS A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET! It was the most fun, exhilarating experience I have had as a woman ever! I was glowing, smiling and loved the poses she created. I FELT SPECIAL AND BEAUTIFUL! ~ I invested in ME! I was worth it! When I viewed the slide-show for the first time, I cried with pure joy and appreciation of "me" as a woman! THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT I COULD HAVE GIVEN MYSELF! I was, like probably everyone that goes there, nervous and somewhat shy. I met with the makeup artist and stylist first. They were great. I began to feel a little relax with them. When it was time to go to the photographer Jannell,She made the experience so relaxing and comfortable. My fears and nervousness began to disappear. She really made me feel comfortable and to my surprise, she also made me feel sexy. Very very professional, very beautiful studio, I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed my session and it only speaks to the fact of her abilities that I went back four more times to complete my portfolio. I had a wonderful experience. I was incredibly nervous about the session. When I arrived, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. Everyone was incredibly professional and walked me through the entire process. I brought my own props for some of the pictures and they were incredibly creative with how they were to be displayed etc My hair and make up looked fabulous. the girls were incredibly friendly and made me feel very comfortable. This was my first time doing a boudoir photo session and I am very pleased with my experience. The pictures turned out AMAZING!! I would highly recommend getting the eye lashes that they offer. Really made a difference in my pictures. I placed my order and I received immediate feedback as soon as I placed the order. After placing the order, I went back to review my pictures and download the digital copy I bought. After looking over my shots, I realized that there was some discrepancy with the numbers on the photos. I was very concerned that the pictures I ordered were incorrectly printed. I called their office on Friday evening and left a detailed message. Theresa immediately called me back and explained why the gallery appeared different. She reassured me that the photos that I ordered were the correct ones and made sure that I could see for myself the numbers for each picture that I originally chose, were reflected in the gallery. My experience was very pleasant from start to finish. I scheduled my appointment a few weeks in advance and received an email prior to my appointment with an overview what to expect at the appointment and with suggestions on how to prepare. The email also included a pricing sheet, so customers could review the packages that were available. On the day of the appointment upon my arrival at the studio I was asked which package I was interested in and then taken to the make-up artist who got to work right away. I appreciated the fact that the make up artist asked for input on how I liked my make-up and hair done. The photo shoot itself was 45 minutes long and was a lot more easy going and fun than what i had expected. I was very pleased with the results also. I really enjoyed my experience at Hawt Shots and would go back and/or refer friends there. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the location of the studio. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a boudoir photography session with Hawt Shots. I was able to view a portfolio of there work on there website and Facebook page. While reading there website a few days before my appointment I noticed that I was suppose to receive an email of tips for the photo shoot. I called to ask if the email could be sent to me because it had never received it. After many phone calls and text messages I finally received the email. The email included what to do, expect, wear and bring to the session. The lack of communication made me a little apprehensive about the photo shoot. However, on the day of my photo shoot I was presently surprised. In the waiting area the photographer reviewed what would happen during the session and the photo purchase options. From there I went into the makeover room, where I had my hair and makeup done for one hour. These ladies were great at what they did and made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Once I was done, the photographer had me lay out my three outfits and selected the order she would shoot them. During the session, she showed me the poses I was to do and coached me (for example, look up, look at me, look down your shoulder, smile, etc). She made me feel very comfortable taking the pictures in lingerie during the hour-long photo shoot. She even showed me a few sneak peaks of the photos as we were taking them. I was able to view proofs of my pictures online a week later to make my purchase. Several weeks later my order was ready for pickup; however, they never called me to tell me that they were ready I had to call them. She apologized for the miscommunication; however, I feel there communication is one area that could be improved so I am rating them four stars. Overall I had a great time and the whole team is great at what they do. I loved my pictures and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

I've done a couple of boudoir photo ops before and this one was not what I expected. The makeup artist did my makeup but I removed it because it wasn't flattering and by me being a MUA, I guess I'm a tough critic. I came in with a few pictures that I wanted to copy but Theresa, the photographer, told me that she could not do any of those shots because she only does 42 poses and none of the ones I showed her were included. I only wanted maybe 6 different poses, but she said she didn't have the same lighting as the pictures I'd shown her. I wanted the poses more say, even if she could not copy the lighting. Well, I decided to go ahead and do the shoot because it was paid for from the Living Social special. The photographer does not pay close attention to detail. Upon reviewing my proofs, a lot more of the pictures would have been great but only if minor detailed things would have been changed. But I do image consulting for models from time to time and I guess once again, Im a tough critic and know how to place things. Im glad I only paid $65 for the special because full pricing from her website would have been a rip off. I hope you live close by the studio because I made 3 trips up there. 1) to take the pictures 2) to view the proofs 3) to pick up the pictures. I would have like to see the pictures via email but I believe that was extra. Anyways, I would not recommend this studio if you have done boudoir before but if its your first time, you might be satisfied. read more

I decided to get a photo session here for my husband for his birthday. I was very nervous. I recently had some medical issues and had a significant weight gain - making my confidence not what it used to be. I booked my appointment and arrived a few minutes early. The owner/photographer sat me down and talked to me about what the experience would be like. I went to hair and make up. I was a little nerous, since I do not wear that much make up and I wear my hair straight. The hair/makeup artist did minimal make up and straightened my hair. I looked like me, but better. The photo shoot was great. I was so comfortable. When I received my proofs (a link she sent to me) - I ended up buying the digitals in addition to the book I already ordered. My husband was very happy with the pictures and I was, too. They were very tasteful. We blew them up and they are hanging on the wall in the bedroom. I highly recommend Hawt Shots! read more
