Do not waste your hard-earned money going to this business. There are better more friendly salons…read morein town so that's who gets my money from now on.

So, I got the tanning itch…read more.. The pale wasn't doing it for me nor this adorable white get-up I purchased for a fun night out, so I high-tailed it to the nearest tanning salon. Seriously, the nearest, it's a minute (less than really) walk from my apartment and on the way to/from work. They offer zillions of packages with different times and beds, but the last time I went tanning was 8 years ago, so I figured I'd start out with the 3 tans for $5 (to be used within a week of purchase) and see where a little bronzing got me... Tan #1: -basic clamshell bed- decent, though for those who are claustrophobic, I'd think twice -8 min- already tan? start here or higher. parts of your pasty body haven't seen the light of day since 2004? try this or even lower. Don't be ashamed. Shame is for burnt b*tches like moi. Tan #2: -2 steps up from the basic-less clamshelly, though still burrito-esque... -8 min- she was trying to get me to go for 12 min (maximize my money's worth, appreciated) but I burn like a disco inferno. Tan #3: -650 bed-highest level they got and, oh lord, am I in love. This bed is what I feel a tanning bed should be: flat and huge, almost bed size, with fans in the bed pointing at my face and increasing in intensity as I spend more time baking. -10 min-even though, it was only two minutes more than the others, it was plenty. Did I mention I burn? Bottom line: thinking about tanning? Try the Sun Room. Good beds, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, especially for a semi-first time gal. Tip: if you get ants in your pants when you have to sit still, bring an pod and earbuds to make the time go by faster

They lie about prices over the phone. I am from out of town and I called the shop after booking…read moreonline about prices due to being out of town and needing a quick fill. It said online it would be 40 and the shop OWNER said it may differ in price. They wanted to charge me $100 for a fill and told me that when I got there. I have been doing lashes for years and have never experienced that high of a price difference. I don't understand why I was told something different over the phone by the owner and why they don't know their own contractors rates. It doesn't sound like everyone is on the same page and sounds like bad business.

I happened to have a day off work and needed to get in somewhere. The woman on the phone was very…read morenice and helpful and was able to get me in last minute. I arrived before the nail tech by about 5 minutes. She arrive and took me to her station. She she said she would soak my nails while getting set up. I put my hands in the containers, after a couple of minutes I noticed my hand felt like I was touching slime I lifted my hand to look and I had black plastic melted to my hand because the acetone melted the plastic container. She had me go wash, it wasn't coming off. She switched to glass containers so we could finish my nails. It took awhile to get my prior set of acrylics off. She she was told by several people to use foils to get the nails off because it would work better and was even given some and didn't use them, she used the electric nail file to get the acrylic off the top my real nails, she filed down to the point where it looked like there was maybe 1 thin layer of nail before my skin, it looked like it was bleeding underneath. I noticed it how thin it was when I felt heat on my skin under my nail, it hurt like it was burning. I told her and she stopped, she should have noticed this before I had to say anything about pain. She trimmed my natural nail a little but not nearly enough where I could go awhile without getting another full set. We got to shaping, I told her how I like them " squared with rounded corners" she kept filing them squared even after I said I wanted corners rounded more, the Sharp edge would be filed down but not rounded on the corners and she took more length each time she tried to fix. Finally, I said it looked okay just so I could do it when I got home since she clearly couldn't figure it out.Once home, I noticed my nails hurting and thought about taking them off. I imagine this was because of how thin she left my natural nail. I also had several areas of broken skin around my fingers from the electric file slipping so much. I kept them on in hopes the pain would start to fade. I realized how much more length of my natural nail should have been trimmed once compared against the acrylic nail. I had 3 nails where my tips looked like they were coming off already so I had to put some glue under them and hold for awhile, it helped some but now I have nail glue under my nail that I can see and feel since I had to put it on after the acrylic nail was already placed. I let them sit for a bit before I shaped them. I got them shaped but had to be careful because I didn't have a lot of length left to work with anyway. Having to shape them also messed up and cracked my polish so literally, the day I got them done, I had to take off the polish and redo them with my own. It took me 2 days to finally get all the melted plastic off my hand as well. I wasn't going to write a review because I could tell she was new to the work, straight out of school, we all have to start somewhere. I was trying to be understanding. She should have listened to her peers with their tips because maybe she wouldn't have messed up my nails as bad. What made me decide to complete a review is only a week after I got my nails done my nail tip broke off. I've never experienced this with any other place. I was taking off the rest of the acrylic and found how thin my natural nail really is and touching the top of my nail I could feel the heat of my finger under my nail like there was nothing there I paid $75 for the service, that is very expensive compared to the other places I've been to, it was not worth it. I expected higher quality with what I paid. Getting acrylics removed was $20. If I'm getting a full service of removal and a new set placed, there should be a discount on removal. I provided my 2-star rating because everyone was very nice, the salon was very clean and had a relaxing environment. However, my overall experience with the service, I am not impressed and I absolutely will not be going back with the type of quality I received. I can go to other places that are $30 less and receive way better results. I really wish I could get a refund because it was a waste of my money.

Stopped in Sunday to check the place out and get some information. Even though I didn't have time…read moreto tan, and had not been inside any other tanning facility in the area, I was so impressed by the clean and bright atmosphere, and the young lady behind the counter, I went ahead and purchased my package (which I thought was very reasonable) at that time. They offer no appointments, which helps with the flow, and they seem to be able to get more people in to tan. I've tanned twice, and never waited longer than 5 minutes to get in, so it's hardly an inconvenience. The staff members that I have met are all young, but very professional and informative. I only tan before vacation to prevent burning, so I'm not really an expert on tanning salons, but this place will be my "go to" before I "go" anywhere.
