Once the contractor finally got here he made the decision to do a completely different repair that took significantly less time and materials, and they still wanted to charge me $1400 for a job I could've done because "there aren't roof companies that do repairs, so we really do them as a favor so we make the short list when you need a roof". Had I received the correct communication or the amount of work done I was originally told I'd be getting this would be a better review. $1000 in the end for work I could have completed faster is wild.

For several reasons, I am extremely disappointed and fully regret hiring General Handyman Services…read more(GHS) to do a residential project that consisted of four separate jobs: installing nine new windows, two new doors with knobs and locks, fortifying a concrete footing and installing new tin roof on an attached lean-to. 1) GHS left the job and never fixed their mistakes contrary to 100% satisfaction guarantee claim 2) GHS never provided a complete bid with labor and materials breakdown. Lumped labor embedding costs for multiple jobs. 3) GHS asked for payment in full prior to completing job and correcting mistakes. 4) Very poor workmanship to include: a) framing with unequal widths around windows; one window has already begun to leak b) doors were hung incorrectly; one requires to be locked to stay closed, the other is highest closest to hinges c) GHS buried my satellite cable under a foot of concrete d) concrete has rock pockets prone to erosion e) first attempt to install tin on lean-to had several inch gap from the edge of the house f) second attempt to install tin, screws missed and/or split 2x4 supports promoting leakage. 5) After GHS left the job, multiple contractors, four total, provided negative reviews of GHS' work. 6) GHS left old windows in my yard and killed my grass in two different spots. 7) GHS never hauled their trash away. Due to my extreme frustration in dealing with GHS, I cannot recommend them for residential projects. I can't submit this review without at least rating one star, otherwise I'd rate zero stars.

In this instance, I was so shocked by Andrew's confusion that I had to share the experience. The estimate we requested was to repair a a 20 inch by 28 inch patch where we removed an old chimney. The estimate he gave was to replace 1/2 of a 2017 roof for $3.000. Literally. When i called him out, the bid went to $200 (too cheap). Miscommunications happen.....you may have better luck. Me, I don't believe that mistakes like this just happen
