We had a BBQ beef burger and a B.L.A.T beef burger. The chips on both plates had no seasoning but were cooked perfectly - which is a shame as I think chips can really compliment a meal. The burgers were weighted just right. Not too heavy, not too light. The flavours were there and they were enjoyable but the oil dripping out of them were a real turn off. We both had a tummy ache afterwards. The burger meat was... strange. I have no idea if the beef patties were over processed or seasoned with the wrong herbs, but it was enough for us to never want to eat their burgers again. Service was okay, the food came out in a decent time. Maybe the eggs and bacon next time.

A brilliant idea. It was like eating at a buffet or when you can't decide between scrambled eggs or fruit salad you can have both!! My partner got the bacon and egg roll and coffee for $9! Decent sized as well. They also had a big brekky with bulgogi which I will have to try next time. Would definitely come here again.

Since it was hot outside, I decided to order the apple ginger juice. It's a well suited combo and was just the refreshing kick I needed. It came in a super cute mason jar fitted with a straw in the cap. I'm sure this sounds like an unnecessary detail, but since a lot of hipster cafes come without a lid and just the straw, I really appreciated the lid so that the straw didn't float up or out. The bulgogi burger was made promptly and came out on a small wooden cutting board with a bowl of fries (or do Aussies call them chips? Sorry... tourist here). The fries were well salted, but I wish it had come with ketchup... Sure, I could've asked, but I elected to be lazy. They make some good quality fries, though-- there wasn't a single one that got in the mix that was accidentally burnt, even on the tips! The burger was delicious, but if I could make improvements I would juice it up a bit, whether it be through the bulgogi it self or adding a compatible sauce of some sort. I felt it was a bit dry, and with my decision to eat fries sans ketchup, the combo made me wish I had more juice. The service was excellent; the barista/waiter was very attentive and noticed immediately when I had finished scanning the menu to take my order. Every aspect of my interaction with him was friendly. The staff are Korean, and the older man (I think the main cook?) noticed that I'm probably Korean too and made an effort to thank me for stopping by while I was paying the the barista/waiter. So friendly! During my time there I noticed several people who seemed like regulars stopping by for their brew. The staff and regulars greeted each other like great friends, and I heard every single one of the regulars compliment them on their delicious coffee. If I'm back in the area, I'll be making an effort to stop by again and try their coffee!

The lunch menu looks delicious as well so I think we'll definitely be back! We were also eyeing up some of the treats for takeaway like the chocolate lava cakes - next time! Upon entering the cafè and looking at the menu it seemed like your typical organic vegetarian cafè and it was. The cafe looked nice and the staff were friendly. My wife ordered scrambled eggs which came with mushrooms, tomatoes and sour dough. This was pretty much your standard scrambled eggs. I ordered the Russian lentil soup with toasted turkish bread to warm me up as it was a cold wet day and it did warm me up. However; I think the chef was trying to channel nearby Maroubra beach with this dish, as it was a little salty. This place was not my cup of tea, as it was lacking meat and was a little pricey for what you get. Which is generally the case for a cafè serving organic produce. In away it is one of those nice coffee shops down by the beach, and you can basically go and grab a drink here after a swim. (Beware how to make dbl mac in this review. Some what ranty)…read more.. Wandering down a somewhat unkempt street across from the Epping Coles I noticed a stairway going up to a wooden platform that almost hides a cafe behind it. Honestly, I love the effort that has gone into the design of this place. Somehow you get transported to somewhere peaceful and relaxing (I especially loved and quickly grabbed one of the comfy chairs near the door). The coffee they use here is Campos, so they have a few extra brownie points to start with, and while they were able to extract a fairly good crema, it was ruined with too much milk. This is certainly not uncommon, unfortunately, and likely only an issue for people like me who drink macchiatos. After my second milky dbl of the day, I am feeling a little like a broken record I think justification is in order. For me, a dbl mac is one of the harder coffees to make well. Most people fail immediatly by over espressing the coffee to stretch a single into a dbl rather than making two singles. All this does is stress the bean making the consistency more watery and the flavour more bitter. Then coffee crema comes down to alot of things. The pressure in the machine, the temp of the cup and portafilter and how tight the coffee was packed. Also harder if you use to singles as the first shot might burn the second. Finally the milk. I think when people hear double, they think "large" but it is incorrect. The milk (a dot of froth and teaspoon of milk) performs an essential function of stopping the coffee crema from burning. If you can not see a dark espresso colour at the bottom you've added too much. So why order the hardest coffee to make from unsuspecting cafes? Other than being a bastard, when someone gets it right it is fantastic. It is also a great way to measure the skills of who ever is making the coffee. Anyone can make a cap or latte, as most issues are covered up by the milk. The great thing though is that if they can make a dbl mac well, their caps and lattes will be amazing.
