Honestly felt like this place was a bait and switch compared to what online and calling multiple times is like. The only way you get an actual "mini bar" in your room is if you get the serenity club. Otherwise the front desk argues with you about what you actually booked. We were put in building 6. Once you walk up it immediately smells like sewage and perm. They are also doing pretty major construction that you can hear during the day. This was not on the site when booking. The "mini bar" is all beer, soda, and water. I have a beer allergy and they would not trade it out for wine/liquor and told me to go to the restaurant or bars by the pool. Once we checked in we were advised we couldn't book meal reservations until the following day. When we got with the concierge the next day she advised us they were booked until the following week after we were leaving. She told us that people stay there 2-3 weeks and they put them as preferential over new people. It was extremely disappointing to hear that, when most of the other restaurants are just "ok". Photos online are a lie. What you see is not a junior suite but only Serenity club. If you want champagne for mimosas in the morning... $300. If you want any alcohol to the room that's not beer. Extra charge. This is the first "all inclusive" resort we have been to that has been like this. When we looked up the actual champagne it was $3-7 bottles that you could get at the grocery store for $2-300. Think Andre equivalent. They also had moet but that was way higher (which would make sense). Our patio, had a jacuzzi on it, but that faces an out door hallway so anyone can just walk by and see you. Super romantic and private. All other rooms have a cement wall blocking their tubs, which was also what was shown online. When we asked a couple times if we could move rooms they told us no. Extremely disappointing when it's your first trip in 6 years. We spent a lot of $$ to come here for that type of all inclusive. I will say the staff is extremely friendly and the buffet was the best food we had at the whole resort. To try to make it up to us one of the staff members got us a cabana for the last day and sent a bottle of wine to the room. If you are going I'd for sure go to the night entertainment. Some of the nights were very cool. Sadly we won't come back to this resort. :(

I was honestly a little skeptical going into this vacation - it was a work reward trip as usually neither Mexico nor an all inclusive resort would be on my radar but this exceeded all my expectations! The first call out is the staff who are about the best I have ever experienced at a resort - so friendly, so proud to help and so willing to help make your vacation memorable. From the bellman who showed us all the features of our room to the pool staff who were on hand with towels, drinks and always a smile despite the fact that most holiday makers could not be bothered to tip! Everything is included so one suggestion is to bring a bunch of dollars and fives to say thanks l! The room was great - large, incredibly comfy bed, beautiful bathroom ( though one downfall was the toilet had a funky sewage smell that as worse during peak 'getting ready times' . We had a nice outdoor patio with hot tub and pool / beach view and the rooms were both dark and quiet at night. Greet pools and so many amenities- we did a great yoga class! They also had various water classes, beach volleyball , cocktail and cooking classes. The beach had beautiful white sand - water is warm and easy to swim in but there was quite a lot of seaweed which they did clean each day but the water was still a bit murky. Food was my biggest surprise - I thought all inclusive was suggestive of poor buffets full of poor quality food but I was very wrong! We usually had room service in the morning with fresh fruit, yogurt and coffee; lunch had lots of veggies, salad and amazing seafood including many ceviche's and poke, crab and shrimp and lots of great choices for dinner - the Mediterranean restaurant is exceptional. Amazing service, pools, food, service! Great vacation and highly recommended .

Me relaxing on the patio at Haven Rivera!

Everything about this resort is just breathtaking!! The service we're getting is a 10 plus, lots of great restaurants to dine, but make sure you make reservations. The room are very modern and comfortable. We're on our first full day here of 4 more days to go, so far it's wonderful.

Do not stay here! We paid for a room in the Serenity area that was supposed to be more of a private member experience. There was construction all day and we had to hear construction as early as 7am. We have video to prove it as well. We also had to sleep in wet sheets because the room and the bed was wet. We slept on top of towels and used towels as blankets to keep us warm. One of the beds had pubic hair in the sheets as well. On top of this all the food we tried was old, dry and inedible. We went to the Italian restaurant where the fish was old and hard. We then tried the Flavors buffet where the food was also old and dry. It looked as if it had been sitting out for a long time. We tried a few things and it was awful. We finally went to the cafe where we got sandwiches that had moldy bread and refrigerator burn on the cheese and meat. We have pictures of this as well. We tried speaking to our butler about our concerns and he did not have a solution. We complained to him all night and he did not help us. In fact, the only thing he sent us was sad face emojis In the morning we spoke to the front desk manager about our complaints and he was combative with us placing the blame on us and asking us why we did not speak to the chef. He did not listen to what we had to say and he was deflecting from our issues. He told us we were free to leave and we could file for a refund through Expedia. When we called Expedia and told them what happened, they called the hotel on our behalf to get the refund and the hotel denied our request. We tried calling the hotel and they are refusing to pick up our calls or let us speak to a manager. Every time we call the hangup, the phone, or they pretend to transfer us and then hang up the phone , this is by far the worst hotel experience I've ever encountered. They have no accountability. We spent $2900 and they refuse to refund us!

PHEN-O-ME-NAL. We stayed at Haven from Friday to Sunday for a "long" weekend, which definitely wasn't enough time in hindsight but we still managed to have the most relaxing and incredible time! This was our first time at an all-inclusive adults-only (read: no-screaming-toddlers) resort so we didn't know what to expect but we were more than pleasantly surprised by everything and everyone. Also, upgrading to the Serenity Club was definitely well worth it for us! Check-in: The check-in process at Haven was smooth, easy, and boozy. The moment we got out of our cab, we were guided into the office for Serenity Club members and given a cold beverage to sip on while we checked in. The entire process was very stress-free and informative. We were given the rundown of the perks of being a Serenity Club member and were given two 200 ml bottles of liquor of our choosing. Now, mind you, they're not giving away a Macallan 18 or anything, but the Don Ramon Reposado tequila I got was definitely palatable. Room: Our room was the Serenity Club Junior Suite Ocean Front, which came fitted with a king-size bed, a safety box, a sofa, a walk-in closet, a rain shower, a spa bath on the balcony, and a lovely view of the ocean! We were mere steps away from one of the pools and the Vistas restaurant and pool bar but far away enough that ambient noise was never an issue. Also, we loved that there was a little compartment for room service to deliver food quietly and discreetly when the Do Not Disturb sign was on. Restaurants: On our first night there, we had a ginormous Tomahawk steak at the Mexican Steakhouse, Agua Bendita. The steak was an upcharge, of course, but so worth it! For roughly $120, we had enough steak for the two of us and then some! We also ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon that was also an upcharge but, again, very worth the price. I had no idea that Mexico was home to such amazing wine! The second night, we ate at Satsu, the Asian fusion restaurant. The mixed skewers were individually seasoned with a wide variety of Asian flavors from tandoori to teriyaki. (The noodles were okay but not nearly as tasty.) The cafe was our go-to place for our cappuccinos as well as light bites, sweets, and gelato! Amenities: Two massive pools, plenty of bars, 5 main restaurants, a spa, a fitness center, yoga classes, etc. There's no shortage of things to do if you're an active person, but there's also no shortage of chaise lounges and sunbeds to lounge in by the pool. We highly recommend getting a couple's massage at the spa! We had the most amazing 60-min massage there, and only wished we could stay for another 120 min! We both came out looking super chill and relaxed. Staff: I cannot thank all of the staff members enough for our amazing experience at Haven. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating that we felt like royalty. I only wish I'd written down the names of all the incredible staff who served and helped us! Amateur move, I know. I guess we'll just have to go back to find out their names! **Edit** There was one thing that we were unhappy about: the bed wasn't made properly and there was only a single thin sheet on top of the mattress; No mattress protector or topper. And the bottom of the bed wasn't tucked in. In fact, the bottom of the bed didn't have any coverage and we noticed a suspicious brown smear...That brown smear kept my bf up all night. lol

Traveled to Haven in Cancun to celebrate my 40th birthday and it was nothing short of AMAZING!!!! The ambiance, food, drinks, & staff were all wonderful. Some of our favorite restaurants onsite were Olios, Satsu, & Vistas. They have every type of cuisine you can think of, from Mediterranean to Sushi to Italian and Mexican. Cocktails like the mango Margarita and coconut rum were awesome. Highly recommend this spot, you won't regret it.

The only nice thing about Haven

The one star is for the pools, room, and the jacuzzi on our balcony. The rest lacked for us, especially the food!! When my husband and I visit all-inclusives, we expect to relax and indulge in delicious food and drinks. We've been to 11 AI resorts in Mexico, and never had such disappointment with the stay. Haven failed miserably. We stayed for 6 nights, and found the breakfast buffet to be bland, the lunch offerings to be disgusting (cold nachos, tacos, burgers), and the dinners to be sad. Worst of all, we needed to make reservations for dinner, only to be seated/served long afterwards. The drinks were disappointing as well. The cocktails were full of sugar and cheap alcohol, while the wine was terrible besides the sparkling wine. I got a stomach ache every day, and I know it was from their food/drinks. While some staff were friendly, many were not. This was the first time we looked forward to coming home from a vacation, and even wished we could leave early. Haven markets itself as a 5 star, but it's incredibly misleading.

The food exceeded my expectations but the real star was the service. We were always treated 1st class by all of the staff. I would recommend the serenity upgrade. It gives you access to the lounge, warm pools, exclusive restaurant and other perks such as a butler. Angel was amazing! Definitely will be back.

Loved Haven. We had serenity jr swimout room and loved it. The view from building 4 was amazing The water temp in the swim up was perfect. The food is resort food, so don't expect 5 star Michelin chefs. But it was good. Having a butler was convenient for things you don't want to do. Reservations, getting things the resort doesn't carry (aka Tajin). Overall a beautiful resort.

If I can give Haven 1 million stars, I definitely would. Let me share my experience- My husband and I were researching resorts, and Haven was our choice because of the vibe, cleanliness, food quality, and amazing reviews about their weddings, and Wedding Coordinator - Miguel. We just got married at Haven last week, and i feel as if i was living a dream. MIGUEL thank you so much for all of your kindness, hard work, passion, and expertise you put into every detail and event for our wedding, and our guests. We are so blessed to have had you with us every step of the way. I was amazed and at ease with your professionalism, experience, and organization throughout the entire process. You made our wedding so special, and so perfect MIGUEL. Thank you for everything, and thank you for busseling my dress so perfectly too!! It was like having a best friend at our sides. I did not want to say goodbye , only we will see you soon! Miguel helped us with information, recommendations, and assurance with all questions and concerns. We will definitely be back for our Anniversary next year! Thank you so much Miguel!!! Xoxoxo ARTURO- we cannot thank you enough for all of your hard work and speed! You are extremely talented and chill, which made us feel very comfortable before, during, and after our wedding. We knew we were in great hands. Thank you so much for your beautiful pictures and videos. We felt like a work of art when we saw our shots! We received our Photos and Videos so fast as well. We are very blessed and grateful to have had you as our Photographer. Thank you for hitting all of the best angles! Thank you so much for capturing our special moments so beautifully, that we will treasure forever. We are looking forward to seeing you for our anniversary photoshoot! You had us feeling like top models! Muchas Gracias Arturo!!!!! SPA- The BRIDAL SUITE WAS so beautiful!! It was an amazing experience, from the snacks and drinks set up, and the way they set up my dress on a pedestal blew me away. I felt like a Queen!! Thank you everyone in the Spa for doing incredible hair and makeup for me and our guests. Everyone was very impressed and felt very Glam yet Natural- so perfect! Even after our wedding, our stay was incredible. The entire staff is so friendly, they made us feel like family. The Shampoo, Conditioner, Soaps and Repellent they offer in the rooms are AMAZING and natural ingredients which I loved. The entire resort is incredibly clean, the activities are so much fun, and the food and drinks were AMAZING! From the delicious buffet food, to the beautiful presentations of dishes in EVERY restaurant- I was extremely impressed, and satisfied. You have to check out the Mixology drinks, so smooth and delicious! I can describe Haven is comfortable, beautiful, modern, and luxurious. Id like to shoutout everyone who made our stay extra special with your incredible hospitality- HUMBERTO, EDGAR, ADRI, ABRIL, PETRO (ask for the Petro special shot in the serenity pool!) ROJELIO, JUAN, JESUS- (WE LOVE YOU AND FELIS CUMPLEAÑOS!!) ISAAC, ERNESTO- (always checked on us when we went to different pools) SAHEL-Thank you for always making sure we had a spot by the pool! MARIA MARIA thank you for always taking care of us and our families!!! The waiters in the Buffet- thank you for always taking care of us and always being steps ahead! There are more we want to thank but after the tequila we lost track of some names some days and nights, so thank you to all for everything!

We were happy while staying at this adults only all inclusive resort. Most of staff was very welcoming and friendly. The only issue we ran into was at dinner time for the Asian restaurant & Mediterranean restaurant. We had a large group of girls, 9 total, and both restaurants were hesitant to seat us until our whole party was there. We did make reservations way ahead of time for both places. They also did not want to bring out the food or take any orders until our whole party was sitting there the whole time. After talking to management though everything was resolved in an orderly manner and experience was better afterwards. When one is paying for an all inclusive experience, it should not matter if your whole party is there or not because it is essentially all you can eat and drink so when people are ready to order their orders should be taken instead of being paused while waiting for everybody else. The rooms were very beautiful and the pool areas were so fun. The staff at the pool was continuously coming around making sure we were all OK and getting our needs. My favorite place to eat was the breakfast and lunch buffet right by the pool area!

We stayed here for our honeymoon. This place was fantastic. Angel was phenomenal and took complete care of us. The food was good and we enjoyed the buffet, restaurants and snack bars. The bars were great with suburb bartenders. The spa was amazing as well, the aqua therapy was just great for the body, as was the massage. My wife and I loved our adventure at Haven and are already planning returning in the future. I can not recommend this place enough. The Fat Man says that Haven Riviera Cancun's food is 1 chin but the resort is a 3 chin.

Best resort ever! Every detail is gorgeous and the service is top notch. We went with the serenity lounge and our butler, Jonathon, always checked in and made sure we had everything we needed. I can't wait to go back!

I would consider it in the future and recommend it to friends. The location is great. Just a short walk into the downtown area and all the restaurants and shops, but far enough away to be quiet at night, and dark enough to see the stars. The breakfast included in our stay was really good, including a selection of made-to-order dishes, fruit, fresh juice, and baked goods. The restaurant also provides filtered water. There is a bottle refilled every day in your room, but they provided more as needed from the restaurant, which was convenient. There is a small private beach area for the hotel, but chairs and cabanas tend to fill up fast. We usually went to the beach right after we ate breakfast and frequently got the last available chairs. The hotel also has two pools, but I didn't use either during our stay. This was mainly because I prefer the beach, but the pools were also very small and partially shaded at times during the day. They would be really good for kids. The room was simple but comfortable and clean. I definitely enjoyed the hammocks outside every room! Additionally, the staff were friendly and helpful. They helped us rent a golf cart and call golf cart taxis.

He knew just the place: El Paraiso restaurant - located so close to this beautiful Tulum beach that we actually dined with our feet IN the sand! We ordered a giant, fresh bowl of ceviche for the table, some (nice and strong) cocktails, and a few entrees from their menu of traditional Mexican-style faves. Then we enjoyed ourselves with some beach-watching while waiting for our food. The service wasn't the quickest (I think that's also a tradition in the area) but the food was truly amazing. And the drinks were good too! I started with a margarita but quickly upgraded to a Coco Loco, because you can't take a trip to the Riviera Maya without drinking at least one cocktail directly from a coconut! As with every place we visited on this trip, the restaurant was clean and following strict mask and distancing protocols. There was even a restroom attendant who directly applied hand sanitizer whenever we used the facilities. It was NOT an option, and I appreciated knowing they were taking covid seriously and trying to keep everyone safe. After lunch we hit the beach (it's free to use their beach if you dined at the restaurant) and enjoyed the beautiful blue water and white sand for a bit while we finished our Coco Locos and watched the world go by. What a beautiful afternoon it was - I will definitely add Tulum and Playa Paraiso to my list of places to spend more time in on future visits.

We loved this place!…read more I originally made our reservation for one night. I read a lot of reviews that the beach here was the best in Tulum and some voted all of Mexico. So I figured pay the extra cash as stay right here at the best spot. I brought some family who is visiting from the US. We ended up staying an extra night because we loved the beach so much. The hotel staff are amazing. They are friendly and super helpful. love Carolina and Rubicel specifically. They both went out of their way to help us feel at home. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable too, and the shower pressure was strong. You have a nice little area to sit in front of your room, but we mostly used it to clean our sand off and stash the beach toys. They don't use AC during the day, but we weren't ever in our room during the day. However, they do turn the AC on at night so you have a cool sleep. There is a convenient small mini-fridge with complimentary waters. They even provide beach towels and will exchange them as you need to. They have a continental breakfast with plenty of choices for everyone. Otherwise the beach club next door has lunch and dinner available for purchase. Everything I tried at the beach club was good too. The wait staff is very friendly and you get free basic beach chairs or discounts on the upgraded chairs at the club with your hotel stay. The only thing I would change, and seems so simple to do, is add a foot rinse bucket in front of each door. We had difficulty keeping the sand from our feet from inside the room. One quick note, get up early and go for a swim at sunrise. The water is nice and warm. Bring your camera!! Not only is it beautiful, but you'll have the beach all to yourself for a few hours before all the tourists start piling in. Overall the hotel is a bit on the pricey side, but... worth it!
