I thought this restaurant was just ok. My family and I ordered veggie samosas, chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, tandoori chicken, and garlic naan. The masala was not as flavorful as I hoped and the chicken pieces were small and sparse. The tandoori was juicy and well cooked, but also not very flavorful. The vindaloo was decent and the naan and samosas were solid. The atmosphere is nice and we were seated quickly. Not a bad experience, but also not memorable or impressive. read more

First visit tonight for dinner and it was overall a pretty good experience, one that will bring me back in the future. I went for the chicken vindaloo and of course I had to try the samosas so I got an order of them as well. The samosas were pretty spot on. Good amount of spice, good size, nice proportion of filling. The chutney was delicious and complimented the samosa perfectly. The vindaloo was pretty good as well, there was a decent amount of chicken and potato in the dish. I ordered it medium expecting some heat but didn't get much at all, it was definitely more of a mild than a medium so I'll have to try spicy next time. It was still a pretty good experience, I could have done with a little more chicken in the vindaloo and definitely some more spice but it was enjoyable and the flavor was all there minus the heat so I'll definitely drop in again for another try one day. read more

I've been eating at Haveli Indian Grill on Buena Vista for a few months now, and I just have to share how amazing their food is there. Owned by a local indian family. The butter chicken is very fricken delicious , their garlic naan is excellent. And their tandoori chicken sizzles from a sizzling plate, full of flavor and grilled to perfection! There aren't many Indian places I personally can vouch for, I use to eat and love at Zaika if anyone remembers it. I love love love Haveli. My smile goes from ear to ear whenever I ask a friend where they'd wanna have dinner and they say Haveli. I feel safe trying new things here. Indian food is known for heavy seasoning but dang does this place have it down. So savory you just get an insane medley of flavors. So make sure you order the naan! It's the best medium for all the amazing flavor. My friend ordered something off menu, it was this cauliflower dish that visually resembles orange chicken. The spices worked with it so well! I'm not huge on vegetarian food but I could eat this forever! I wish I got the name! I also tried their Lamb Vindaloo cause I was feeling adventurous. Freaking amazing. Soft, tender, fall of the bone! Vindaloo is now my new favorite. I highly recommend it. The gravy is different from the usual western favorites such as tikka masala and butter chicken. It is so worth a try! This place opened my eyes to it and now I order it every time I have Indian food! I heard this place has a great happy hour but I have yet to give it a shot. This was my first time trying indian cuisine. I have been considering trying this spot down the street from my house and after being recommended a dish by a coworker I decided to take the leap and I am so glad I did. My coworker boasted of how good masala and naan are, so I ordered those along with a side of rice. I decided to start with a cup of chai masala( I am a tea lover) and it was very delicious. Next the food arrived and the first bite of the chicken tikka masala was a shock to my taste buds and I wasn't sure if I liked it, but after a few more bites I was hooked. I loved dipping the cheese naan in the masala and eating it with the chicken and veggies. The rice with the masala was good too, but the naan was the superior option. Towards the end of my meal I ordered another cup of chai to relax after a large meal and I took plenty home. The servers were friendly and took my order promptly and the food came out in a short amount of time. The interior is nice as well with (I'm assuming) indian music playing at a low volume. Overall a wonderful first experience with indian food and I look forward to returning and trying the lamb masala. read more

This is my second review on this place as the quality, taste and presentation of the food has gone down and was so disappointing. Pre Covid it was great. Post Covid it was ok. And now, currently is has gotten bad even more. About two or three times before this I had coke to eat during lunch hr and the food tasted and looked different. A simple butter chickens and Gobi Manchurian that I always ordered was no where close to what it had always been. I decided to give it a few more tries as I loved this place and the waitress explain that a new and different cook worked in the mornings and the usual comes for dinner time. This time around I came for dinner hour and again ordered the above plus tandoori chicken. We unfortunately did no even eat the Gobi Manchurian. It looked to artificially red. We were informed the cook accidentally overdid the food coloring. And the taste was more like sweet and sour sauce than Indian spicy. Very disappointing. Been wanting to try this place. Finally got a chance to try it. It wasn't busy at all and service was great. We got the chicken mahkni and the chicken tikka masala was all so flavorful especially over the rice. I think the appetizer stole the show. The fish was crunchy and not dry, and the seasoning on it was so good. Overall all I'd say the dishes are about the same as others I've had but I would come back just for the fish pakora! I've had a difficult time finding Indian restaurants that I truly enjoy in bakersfield so I went in with minimal expectations but thankfully Haveli didn't disappoint. The restaurant has a nice vibe and is nice enough to dine in. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, chili chicken, rice, and butter naan. The service is slow but that's normal these days. The country is short staffed so be patient. The manager and server were friendly and tried their best but they definitely need more help. Our food came out eventually (the naan took even longer) but we waited. The food is tasty, I was quite pleased with the chicken and the naan. The flavors are almost there but don't quite hit perfection, a little more salt and seasoning could help the dishes but nevertheless it's the best I've found in the area so I'll take it. I'll return to try more of their dishes and takeout seems like a great option as well. Give this place a shot, just be patient. It's worth it. read more

Was feeling Indian street food and this place did not disappoint!!! We ordered two 3 tacos (chicken and lamb) and would definitely get again. They had all the right flavor notes spicy (ordered spicy not Indian spicy) with an acidic touch to balance it all out. The only improvement I would make is use naan for the tortilla. This spot in my opinion is the best in town for Indian food. I've been to a couple places around town and they come no where near to Haveli. The restaurant is super clean and well decorated and the aroma of spices coming from it are heavenly. The service is great and the people really friendly. My wife and I had the chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka, rice and naan with extra garlic. The chicken tikka masala was delicious the flavors and spices were on point so delicious, next was the chicken tikka almost like Indian fajitas, they were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat, be sure to squirt a bit of lemon on it so delicious. The rice was phenomenal, perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. The Naan was good as well, if I had to critique something it would be the garlic flavor it was minimal on the naan wish it was present more but that's just me. Overall the service and food was phenomenal the restaurant is well kept and they make you feel at home , this will definitely be my go to spot for Indian food from now on. The place had good Bollywood music going on. Their was ample of parking space available. The restaurant is in a complex with other good eats around. Masala fries $4.99- They were good, No one can go wrong with fries & some good Indian sauce heheh. Dal tarka $11.99 - So we had different views on this one. It was ok ok for me. Paneer Tikka Masala $13.99 - So when the curry came it looked ok ok, but when we tasted, OMG it was bomb, its strange but the curry had a floral flavor to it, which sounds weird but the taste was goodd. 3 Garlic Naan $8.00 - The Naan were ohh sooo good, melt in the mouth, let me tell you this that the naan should be thin & buttery not thick & doughy. We could not stop eating them. Wonder why we do not get these type in LA. Basmati Rice $3.00 - shouldn't rice be included with curries? Well. I have tried several restaurants that serve Indian food in Bakersfield and Haveli has been the most consistent to me. I do enjoy and recommend the medium or spicy chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and the mango lassi. They do offer mildly spicy versions for most of the dishes for people who can't tolerate spicy food. I like that they also take orders to go or through door dash. Service has been good all the time and prices are reasonable compared to other local restaurants. read more

Spinach and potato was also awesome I would order it with less oil next time. the naan flatbread was a little chewy it could've been toastier/crispier. Yayyyyyyy for Haveli! I love this place. The food was absolutely delicious! I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally made it here. First off, the atmosphere is simple, clean and friendly. You can there on a date or w friends and family. And guess what?! They have a full service liquor bar! Definitely order the TAJ MAJAL beer. It's perfect with dinner. We started out with 2 veggie samosas at $4. Great deal and delicious! We then ordered chicken tikki masala (mild) and it was creamy, buttery and full of amazing flavors. I had to update my review to commend them for their services during these trying times. Just as always... Haveli grill is so delicious 10/10! I ordered uber eats and they were late. It was almost closing time. The manager had to stay overtime because Uber was inadequate. I called them and the manager reassured me he called uber to try and get them to come pick up the order for a while. Even though it was late the food tasted so fresh and delicious. I can tell that everything is made to order. The chicken was so juicy and tender the butter chicken was savory with the right amount of spice. I really hope to enjoy their lunch buffets again soon when all of this covid craziness is done. read more
