There was no line either at the ticket counter. On Scene: I had to park about 3 to 4 blocks away. It was cold as it just got through snowing earlier in the day. I sat up stairs and enjoyed the band playing music from the 80's. I estimate that there may have been 250 to 300 people at this theater to enjoy the band on a Friday night.

There are parking lots on both sides of the building, as well as some spots in front. The Mims Gallery has some great exhibits that I haven't seen anywhere else. This visit, I got to see the Charles Schulz exhibit. Admission was $5, and you got to learn about the artist and the Peanuts characters. A Bob Ross exhibit was also here with his artwork. The lobby has a player piano that is a delight to listen to. Performances are held at the center throughout the year.

This season they will have produced six shows just for the Raleigh area. So far this season has been amazing with West Side Story; Having Our Say and Kinky Boots. The final three shows are Memphis; Edges and The Sound of Music and I can't wait to see those. I think it is really great that local talent can showcase their abilities in the Triangle area. Some of the cast does comes from New York City but others cast members are from the Triangle area. The orchestra is local as well and the crews needed to put the shows together. It takes a lot of people to put together these shows and NC Theatre is great for the local economy. But most importantly great for those of us who love watching the performances.

The Rudy Theatre opened in Downtown Selma, North Carolina in 1998. Thankfully it survived the…read morepandemic when it was closed for well over a year. But it has been back open for a few months now and is currently having the Christmas Jubilee shows that combine music and comedy. I've only been to the Christmas shows but I was informed that there are four different shows each year. A Country show; an Easter Show and a Summer show. Besides the shows The Rudy puts on they do have performers come and have there shows at the venue from Elvis music to Bluegrass to Beach music. The theatre has about 500 seats. I've sat in the middle of the floor level before; the front row and this time I decided to try out the balcony. They do the sound and lights up in the balcony so you can see that too. The balcony does requires walking up stairs. I found the seats in all the sections to have good views. Parking is street parking but there was plenty available on the surrounding streets. The lobby has a concessions area and the prices are reasonable. The staff is really friendly and helpful too.

I went to see "It's a Wonderful Life" last Friday evening and it was very good. I was dissappointed that the theatre was only about half full.
