A group of us stayed here for two weeks whilst in town for a family wedding. The facilities are simple, modern and clean and are offered as accommodation for students, workers from out of town, groups and visitors. Good location for town centre, not far from the train station, and has very reasonable prices.
There are three two-storey buildings. Our ground floor level comprised of 8 double/twin rooms, plus communal kitchen and lounge areas. The bedrooms each have their own key, en-suite shower and toilet, desk and chair, small fridge, flat screen TV, built-in wardrobe and bedside drawers. The shared kitchen has fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots, crockery and utensils, as well as large kitchen table and chairs. The kitchen cupboards have a little latch you can padlock. The shared lounge area is comfortable with several couches, computer desk, and flat screen TV. It was quiet enough most nights, though if you are in the rooms closest to the shared areas you might hear a bit more noise.
The complex has laundry facilities, a vending machine, and a BBQ area with picnic tables. There is space for car parking, though it can be busy at the weekend.
A few drawbacks - it can get quite warm, our party bought a few fans to keep cool. The wifi was also intermittent. Overall, we thought the Havannah Apartments made a great home away from home. read more
