Ferienwohnungen Oberreitlehen is a vacation rental on a working dairy farm that's situated in the rolling hills next to the alps. It's located on the outskirts of the town of Bischofwiesen, minutes from Berchtesgaden. The scenery is breathtaking. Look out any window and you see snow-capped peaks against lush green fields with the occasional cow walking around for good measure. As you can imagine, the setting is completely authentic and relaxing.
The apartments were sensational too. They were quite new, very clean, and well maintained. As far as decor goes, the owners, Sebastian and Martina Brander, did a great job designing them. There's exposed wood everywhere from floor to ceiling as well as historic family photos on the walls, subtly honoring the country lifestyle that the Brandner's live. Rustic charm aside, they were also sure to add in all the modern conveniences you could want in a vacation rental; sleek appliances in the kitchen, rain shower head in the bathroom, flat screen TV's, etc.
As for the owner's, they were very easily to deal with, and very helpful when we had questions. And the value was great! Just under 100 euros a night, which I found to be an amazing value considering we got a large 2 BR apartment.
In the end, I would wholeheartedly recommend staying at Ferienwohnungen Oberreitlehen if you're going to Bavaria, and I hope to do so once more myself!
